Teachers are overloaded and overwhelmed with the daily, weekly, monthly, and annual progress monitoring requirements placed upon them by their departments of education and schools alike. With the constant forms and reports necessary to document their efforts and effectiveness, many are on the verge of burn out and disillusionment with the dream of truly being educators. Reaching out to a coworker who is worn and tattered by the regularly increasing demands for greater performance and one more mandatory curricular addition is an act of mercy and love. This is love for our fellow man and love for the futures of the youngsters placed within that teachers’ realm of authority. “Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance,” 1 Corinthians 13:7 (New Living Translation). This love for students and teachers will be the driving force to bolster the initiative to approach a struggling teacher and offer a way of escape, a way to make teaching more efficient and effective while at the same time not necessitating more physical effort on the part of the teacher. That is, making learning and teaching a reciprocal behavior in which input comes from both the teacher and students alike, shifting the burden from the shoulders of one to the shoulders of many. Furthermore, in an effort to find room for margin, an educator must be encouraged to find keys to truly educate rather than finding just another method of forcing loads of rote
Education represents an avenue of growth for youth, as well as exploration of passions. The classroom is traditionally held as a place of thought and growth, in which young minds can explore a great expanse of intellectual fields to develop their own interests and passions. Contrary to this ideal, modern classrooms have developed into an institution of manipulation, coercion, and conformity, placing the interest of corporations ahead of the development of the youth.
Education is a basic human right (“Primary and Secondary Education”). It is crucial for alleviating poverty, creating equality between different genders and races, improving health, maintaining peace, producing stability (Primary and Secondary Education). Every single person has the right and the responsibility to be educated so our world can grow and become more successful. The skills and knowledge learned in the classroom are not only helpful for counting and reading, but also in personal growth, people skills, and common sense. Education is crucial for a country's economy and poverty rate. In developed and developing nations, education has many differences in attendance, quality of teaching, content of curriculum, and post-primary education.
veys their drive to acquire an education as well as their work ethic; therefore, this being a main reason why colleges should continue to use standardized testing and view their academic excellence.
Inclusion in the school systems is important for all people within the school systems, including the parents of students. One parent of three school aged children does not share this perspective. This mother believes that inclusion within the classroom is an expensive form of education in that it takes away from the potential learning for every individual. I believe that inclusion within the classroom actually helps all individuals to have a better education in and outside of the classroom.
Teachers in the United States are educating the adults of the future, yet the teaching profession is depreciated. Teachers experience immense pressure from the administration to adhere to curriculum guidelines, creating an unfavorable work condition. Professional freedom, or autonomy, in the classroom allows teachers to adjust instructional material to their preference and teaching style. This provides teachers a more supportive environment to fulfill their potential as educators and effectively creating a learning environment. Teachers can help students get the most out of their education and increase their earnings later in life.
Today’s education systems are deeply flawed. Schools attempt to conform the way students think, which then limits creativity and student’s ability to think for themselves. Schools are falling away from the true focus of education by replacing effective teaching with irrelevant assignments, only to overwork and severely stress the students. Since many students are focusing more on homework than real-life, they are losing precious time to explore passions and learn important life lessons. Schools today are not preparing students to be lifelong learners and successful participants in the real world at an adequate level.
If education had more money they could make their community a better place by allowing updates to be made when necessary. Education is in need of money due to the lack of funds they receive from the state. If tax money went to education this problem would solved. More money would increase teachers pay, pay for textbooks, supplies and food. Education is important to everyone around the world. Without an education, children would not have a knowledge unless learned at home. Education needs more funds to be able to afford the supplies needed for each and every school year.
Arguably teaching is one of the most powerful careers offered to the public today. The impact educators have on their students is insurmountable, possibly lasting the child’s entire lifetime. This is why educators should be dedicated to being a positive impact on the child’s life, and creating a safe classroom environment. Educators can successfully do this if they are aware of the developmental, behavioral and social needs of their students, fully comprehend the impacts of trauma and poverty as well as use differentiation strategies to support the needs of these students.
Education is clearly an essential aspect of criminality that should be implemented to rehabilitate juvenile offenders and lower their risk of reoffending. The previous studies addressed issues present by incarcerating youth, but further research must be done comparing the resources available to incarcerated youth, those in group homes, and those of probation, and their recidivism rates. Just under a third of juvenile arrests are of females, although they are a minority population they should be explored because they could offer a different perspective and understanding (Rhoades, Leve., Eddy, & Chamberlain, 2016, p. 337). Previous studies were focused almost exclusively on male participants, so research into how the justice system prepares girls to re-enter into society as adults. Most of the boys studied above were also white, so further research must be done to explore how race plays a factor. Moving forward, a more diverse sample group must be researched in order to provide more generalizable research of the population. For further research, a variety of systems and their effectiveness must also be evaluated.
What is my life’s work? Well, I plan on dedicating my life to changing the lives of others. Spending every extra minute possible giving back to the community in some way. I feel as if I was made to strongly impact the lives of anyone I cross paths with. Becoming a teacher is one of the many ways I feel that I can achieve these goals. Teaching is so much more than just standing up in front of a classroom and spitting out a lesson plan day after day. Getting to know each individual student and their personal struggles is key to being a magnificent supportive teacher. It takes a strong minded individual to teach. Writing this paper has opened my mind to all the potential bad things that comes along with teaching. It is making me look deep inside and criticize if I really have what it takes to be a teacher. No one has ever asked me if there are any doubts I have had going into this field. I think I want to go into teaching in order to accomplish a better learning environment for students, particularly children with disabilities. I feel that children with disabilities are not getting enough support and encouragement they need to succeed. Every person with a disability is able to achieve something great with the right support systems set in place for them. With a teacher who pushes them to excel they will be living to their fullest potential. There are the many obstacles which make me doubt my capacity to become a teacher.
“Give me a minute,” that is all it takes to save a person’s life. Annually, stress kills approximately 110 million people, which is equivalent to seven deaths every two seconds. In a manner of seconds we could save plentiful lives. Compare to other countries, the United States stand in the medium to high range of stress and only stands 20th place out of 35 industrialized countries for education. Countries like Finland, Japan, and South Korea stand in the top rank of the world for their education and still continue to improve exponentially, while the United States isn’t trying as hard enough. The reasons behind it is the tremendous amount of homework, the pressure of standardized testing and the requirements they have abide to. This undesirable education system hinders the students with stress and affects their test score, which causes the United States to be in 20th place. The students desire for an education that will benefit them and changing in criteria such as limited standardized testing, lessen the tremendous amount of homework and changing the schedule.
I was born and raised in a developing country in Africa where there are limited opportunities for education, particularly for women. Although my country is plagued by a variety of fatal diseases and parasites, most notably malaria, treatment facilities lack basic medical supplies and skilled healthcare providers. Due to poverty, most people have limited access to life-saving care, especially those in rural areas who don’t even have medical access. This shortage of resources and proficient personnel render the population vulnerable to infectious diseases.
56% which averages out about to 42,168,580 people of the world's population that are bilingual know the language English, however, out of that percentage, only 15% of them spoke English as their first language (Nemeth, 2017). Most of those people didn’t learn a language at the younger age when it’s a lot more simple as your brain was still developing. However, still today they don’t have bilingual in your average younger aged classroom when it can be used as a learning tool. One of the solutions that can help fix this is to start teaching the most common languages at the younger age. To do this though you would have to also add in the requirement of having teachers at the younger group level be bilingual. This can take time though, so in the meantime to put things in motion signs and materials can start to be used to help introduce different languages to children. Another is that lots of countries today are becoming more advanced in the language department at the younger age and eventually United States citizens are going to fall behind. There is the reasons that dispute this, as with the changing of the curriculum, you also need to have parents on board with it as well. The reason they might be is that of the price for certain things. Mostly today children that have a type of language lesson in their life have parents that are either paying for a more expensive school or videos and tools to use at home. Meaning adding it to everyday life does run into the possibility of
The United States of America is nowhere near being one of the most educated countries in the world. “The U.S. ranks No. 18 in perceptions of an educated population, just above South Korea and behind Italy” (https://www.usnews.com/news/best-countries/articles/2017-08-25/most-educated-countries-according-to-perception). There is no single solution that can cure the education system without causing other problems in the students and teachers lives. However, if the US were to have year round school, they would have more rigor to learn, and wouldn't be behind other countries.
“Regardless of what a student may face at home or out in the world, the teacher has the ability to be the best part of that student’s day” (teachercast). Around the world children face many challenges throughout their everyday life. Teachers have the ability to help them overcome these challenges and make something of themselves.
