Detective Dave Brennan of the Special Victims Unit, and lead investigator of Susan 's first attack eight years prior found himself a bit irritable. The assailant only serving six of a ten-year sentence, had been released on good behavior. Upon release, he had returned in retaliation, and brutalized her a second time, followed by obscene calls, and endless threatening letters. The case had been the reason for Brennan 's many sleepless nights, last night was no exception. Exhausted, the detective sat scanning over the case file, head cradled in one hand, he found himself at wit 's end. Susan 's second attack had been exceptionally brutal, the suspect had beaten, raped, and set her gown on fire. She had described her assailant, as wearing a …show more content…
Taking a deep breath, as he rose from his desk, he knew to break this case, he would have to go back to the beginning. Standing atop the stairs, "I am getting to old for this." He told himself, dreading the forty-eight stairs down to the evidence room. Brennan pushed the heavy door open, to find his old partner behind the desk, peering at him over the top of his glasses. He chuckled as Brennan breathlessly, slumped over the counter. "Good morning Dave, what can I do for you?" "Good morning Bob." He replied "I need to sign out the evidence in Susan 's case, the creep is threatening to pay her another visit. I need to get this scum bag behind bars, where he belongs." Having retrieved the evidence from the shelf, Bob reluctantly hands the small box over to Dave. "Hey ole buddy, we have been through this, nothing has changed, there is nothing of evidentiary value in this box." Brennan, now holding the tiny box in his hands, still mesmerized, by what little evidence the case had to offer, turned to leave without saying a word. Standing at his desk once again, and out of breath, the detective cursed himself for the few extra pounds he gained over the past couple of years. Slowly, and hesitantly placing the tiny box on his desk, he recalls its contents. Feeling the pressure of the task before him, he sits down, leans his head back, and closes his eyes. After several moments, without opening his eyes, he retrieves the small knife his father had given him
On 2/16/18, at approximately 1941, I responded to 1241 Lake Lucerne Cir, Winter Springs, Seminole County in reference to a battery. Upon arrival I spoke to Michael Morris (victim-w/m 12/23/1977) and Heather Morris (witness w/f 07/01/1980), who informed me that Scott Neely (suspect w/m 11/22/1979) attacked Michael in their driveway.
Barbara Wright, the wife of Thatcher’s farm manager, testified that she saw Mr. Thatcher drive into his ranch between 5:00 and 5:30 p.m. on the day of the murder. She estimated this time partly by reference to her belief that she left work shortly after 4:00 p.m. that afternoon. She was in the kitchen when Thatcher drove into the yard in his truck shortly after 5:00 p.m. She said she did not speak to him and only observed his movements through the window. He left after about twenty minutes. She testified that at about 7:00 p.m., Thatcher telephoned to say that Mrs. Wilson had been murdered. In cross‑examination, she acknowledged that her work records showed that she was not working on the day of the murder, but she explained this discrepancy by stating that she had exchanged shifts with a fellow employee and that this exchange did not show up in the records.

Mr. Callaway was referred to me through the forensics system to find if he is competent to stand trail or if he is Not Criminally Responsible. He is awaiting trail for the murder of his wife- Alison Callaway, and two other victims; Elizabeth Wilson and Sheriff John Hafferty. He had pushed Ms. Wilson out of a second storey window, she died on impact and assaulted Sheriff Hafferty with a shovel. He also attacked close family friend, Katherine Warren, and his daughter, Emily causing great distress to his young daughter. Mr. Callaway maintains he is innocent and did not commit these crimes, he serves no memory of any of the murders. Mr. Callaway believes his wife had succeeded in a suicide attempt in their bathtub, although it has been proven to him, by law enforcement, that he suffocated her and than staged a suicide. He claims to only remember finding Ms. Wilson body after she had been pushed out the window and has no memory of Sheriff Hafferty being at his house the night he was

Dave Gurney is called in by a team of arrogant murderers that believe he could never find any trace of their evil doings. He believes every case always leaves clues and this should not be any different except that it is. A newly married bride just got decapitated moments to hearing her congratulatory toast. A series of revelations in quick succession make for a monstrously bizarre case. Gurney is facing one of the darkest criminal masterminds he has ever had to face that cause him to question the very assumptions he had about
After hearing a brief testimony from Mr. Hale, the first person to come upon the murder scene after the initial discovery made by Mrs. Wright, the county attorney and sheriff jump into action and begin looking for evidence at the Wright’s home.
“Law and Order: Special Victims Unit” produced an episode titled “Thought Criminal” that took the viewer behind the scenes of the crew’s efforts to catch a photographer in the midst of his sex offending actions. The difficult decision in this case was to decide if the man could be considered guilt, or considered innocent by law. His intentions to buy, torture, and kill young boys became very clear from the beginning. These plans were so thoroughly progressed in the photographer’s mind that he photoshopped images to create an actual picture of his future torment to the children. While evidence did show that he was scheming these unethical acts, he did not actually commit the crime. This leaves the crew in a tough position because he
Chief of police DiSario was responding to a call that said there was an armed man inside a nursing home near Columbus, Ohio (Gunman Kills Ohio Police Chief, 2 others, 2017). When the Chief of police arrived, he was ambushed. The last thing that DiSario said on the radios was that he had the gunman in sight. Two people who worked at the nursing home were also shot and killed. The gunman was a 43 year old man by the name of Thomas Hartless, which I find rather fitting. Considering what he did. In 2010, Mr. Hartless was sentenced to two years for abduction and assault, but was released eight months later (Police Chief killed, three dead in shooting, 2017) Then he was also arrested for domestic violence at the beginning of 2017. Hartless had taken two hostages into a wooded are. However, they were found, unharmed. homas Hartless was also shot and killed at the scene. Hartless girlfriend was one of the employees that was killed during this endeavor. I’m not entirely sure of where these two men were shot. I can’t find it anywhere. Unfortunately, Steven was Chief of police for a few weeks before his life was
Early the next morning of December 8th, the lifeless body of Debbie Carter was found strangled in her small apartment. The murder of Debbie Carter flipped this small, rural, bible-belt, town on its head. People were outraged, overwhelmed, and stunned that such a thing could happen in this town to a young, beautiful girl whom everyone had known. This gruesome act put enormous pressure on local law enforcement to find the atrocious criminal. Finger prints, hair, and blood spatter was carefully collected from the scene.

I took a deep breath and swallowed back down my stomach which seemed to have made its way up to my throat. “Sir, there are lots of reasons why the death of Ms. Williams would not be suicide.” Investigator Christensen slowly stood up from his chair and started circling the room. He looked like a vulture, and I was the prey. “At 9:08 am October 16th 2016, 221B Baker street, a woman is found dead in her bedroom. She is lying on her bed, eyes open, a bullet in her head, and a pistol in her hand. Tell me Sherlock Holmes, is that not suicide?” He slams both of his big hands down on the table making the cups rattle and screams at me, “Is that not suicide? She clearly killed herself, Sherlock, you saw the body, you saw the evidence. And yet you question me.” My head is pounding. I throw the chair i’m sitting in behind me and scream, “MURDER!” Everyone is silent and all eyes land on me. “You’re right investigator Christensen”, I say. Now it is my turn to

“Then why was your gun found at the crime scene?” inquired the detective, pulling the evidence out of his drawer and placing it on the desk.
