At a young age, you take a test that determines if you’re qualifying to be AIG or not. If you do qualify, you’re put into a faster paced class with other students that qualify. This allows you as a student to grow better academically, emotionally, and socially because you are surrounding with students who possess similar abilities.
Another benefit to being in AIG is that you are more likely to be put into advanced classes. In 7th grade AIG students are usually put into the pre-algebra math class depending on how well they scored on 6th grade math. So at a young age, if you are AIG you have a better chance of being in an Honors class in high school.
AIG students also have the best teachers and resources available. Teachers are a big part of learning. If you don’t have a good teacher to teach the subject the class will not excel in learning. Having the best teachers available means having due dates, strict guidelines, and setting high expectations for the students. It also means that you have the teachers that will make the subject understandable and enjoyable to
Lack of comprehension and poor course work will result in a lower grade average. Students may become frustrated and give up easily.

Because my parents are struggling because they didn’t finish school and also working hard because their jobs are low salary jobs, is shaping me to appreciate my education and opportunities. This is why I believe I’m an excellent candidate for
The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) is an important law that was passed, which advocates for the needs of disabled children. Federal funding is given to the schools to meet the needs of students with disabilities. Each state works with the federal government to provide this service. It is the states responsibility to follow the laws and find appropriate placement for these children. (US Department of Education, 2007) These students go through a process called appropriate placement by going through a series of referrals, evaluations, and classifications to see which category they fall under. These students may suffer with learning disabilities, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, emotional disorders, cognitive challenges, autism, hearing impairment, visual impairment, speech or language impairment, and developmental delay. Once they find the category then the Child Study Team (CST) made up of a school psychologist, social worker, and a learning disabilities teacher consultant will decide if the student needs an Individualized Education Program (IEP). Then the consultant will decide if the student needs an Individualized Education Program (IEP). This program is offered to students struggling in school allowing them to be taught a different way in the school system. If the student needs an IEP the multidisciplinary committee will meet. The
Solid classroom management/community. Have you ever been in a classroom that could “run itself”? It probably belonged to an outstanding teacher. Phenomenal teachers craft a classroom that is a community, where all learners are able to grow in relationships, knowledge, and maturity. Systems are in place to make the classroom run smoothly so that time can be spent on more important things than where to put homework in the morning.
The second component is the inspired success squad (ISS) aka the retention specialist. ISS coordinate with professors to inquire about student that are failing, missing classes, or at risk of failing. ISS reach out to students, conduct assessment, address the student need through building their skills (time management, study skills, etc. ...), connect them to campus services, or provide community resources. Overall, ISS provide students with tools to succeed.
This paper summarizes some key theme in the InTASC standards of teaching learners. There are two themes that seem to be throughout the standards and these are learner focus and collaboration with not only students, but between teachers. These standards are vital to the learning environment of students and gives teachers the resources that they need to enable their students to be successful.
I, the above named student, confirm that by submitting, or causing the attached assignment to be submitted, to AIB, I have not plagiarised any other person’s work in this assignment and except where appropriately acknowledged, this assignment is my own work, has been expressed in my own words, and has not previously been submitted for
AICE Psychology is taught by Dr. Karle. Brianna Hartmann, 11th grade, describes the class as the study of people, behavior, cognitive learning, and abnormal mentalities. "In class, we would either be taking notes or listening to a lecture," she explained when asked about a normal day in class. "We never really had any free time in class. We usually worked from bell to bell."
Being in an advanced class such as honors will make me push and strive more for my goals.

The Honors Guild first attracted me into joining by its title, Honors. Throughout my academic career, I have been part of honors programs and enrolled in honors classes. In middle school, I joined an advanced placement program, and it was the first time that I found a place for myself in school. Ever since that school year, I have thoroughly enjoyed taking advanced courses because they challenged my abilities and mindset, and I was able to flourish being surrounded by like-mind individuals who pushed me to work harder.
I can’t really tell you what it means to be an AIG or honors student yet. I can’t tell you

Queen’s University is located in a university town, Kingston. It has a distinct culture that allows everyone to feel connected to one other. There is also a wide variation of the places students come from, even within Canada – Vancouver to New Brunswick. Most of the students live far from home, often adjusting oneself to the new environment. By this, Queen’s students are already taking a step in becoming a world citizen, making their AIESEC journey less challenging compared to other LCs.
Next, A.V.I.D. helps students by making them THINK actually think. Because, of costa’s levels of questioning and tutorials. Costa’s helps us create harder level questions, and has us challenge ourselves to make us really understand a question or think deeper into a problem more than what you just see on the surface. And tutorials helps us understand and break down a problem that we have or can’t solve. By breaking down a problem you can ultimately find the part that you’re struggling on and have a group of your peers help you to solve the
