On September 24, 2017 at approximately, 2:00 p.m. my mother Irma Villarreal and myself Maria Soto were returning back from Mexico and waiting in line to enter the Progresso, Texas Port Of Entry. As my mother and I were waiting in line, I immediately noticed I had forgotten my US Passport and removed myself from the line to text my husband for him to rush and bring me my passport. When my husband arrived my passport was given to another US Custom Agent, which was cordial enough to bring it to the line where I was again standing waiting to get inspected by another agent. Since my mother and I were both together and as previously explained and I had forgotten my Purse that contained my Passport, when the officer called my mother to the line …show more content…

My mother then tells them you can give me a penalty for 500 or 1000 but I am not lying officer, she also told him check my record, I have never had any incidents with the law or been in a situation as I am today. When I sat by my mother, I instantaneously proceeded to explain to Mr. Escalon the situation, I told him the pills my mother was carrying were not all hers and that two boxes were mine. I also asked, if I could speak to a superior, and have the opportunity to explain the situation, someone in charge that would actually listen and not automatically assume we were guilty. He said it was too late for explanations that he was already starting the process of filling out the short form. Where from I was sitting he hadn’t because he was asking another agent that was passing by Officer Sandoval for help because this was the first time he was actually going to do one and didn’t know how to start it. Officer Sandoval then proceeded to email him a copy of one she had saved
The date of the offense was July 19, 2014. It was a night full of mistakes and bad decisions, which I will never make again. Subject GONZALEZ, Sandra was also released from the cell at which time she requested to speak with a supervisor (me). I spoke with subject GONZALEZ, Sandra, and she was visibly upset about the incident stating she was a US Citizen and the officers had no right to place her in restraints. On December 01, 2015, I, FAM Christopher Catone, was assigned a FAM mission on Delta Airlines flight number 0132 (DL #0132) operating from Detroit Metropolitan Airport to Amsterdam Airport Schiphol (DTW-AMS). Also assigned to the flight were FAM Wayne Solgot, FAM Damion Callahan-Howard and FAM Scott Howard. At approximately 20:32, while flight 0132 was taxiing from gate A28 of Detroit Wayne County Metropolitan Airport (DTW), I was approached by Fight Attendant (FA) Anita CLARKE (ID#0545538). During the boarding process, FA CLARKE indicated she observed a passenger, later identified as David SPIRIDON, W/M (DOB: 3/25/1983), attempting to conceal an object in his jacket and she also saw what appeared as wires protruding from SPIRIDON’s jacket. FA CLARKE contacted the Pilot in Command, Captain Burt D. THORP, and advised Captain THORP of the SPIRIDON’s actions. Captain THORP, through FA CLARKE, requested the FAM team speak to SPIRIDON concerning his actions. FAM Howard went to the passenger, identified himself as a law enforcement officer, and asked if SPIRIDON would agree to speak in the rear galley. SPIRIDON agreed and walked with FAM Howard to the rear galley. I then met SPIRIDON and FAM Howard in the rear galley. When asked, SPIRIDON indicated he was unaware his actions caused concern and was not trying to hide anything. I asked SPIRIDON if I could look in his property and he agreed to a search of his person and property. During the search SPIRIDON assisted by removing property from his pockets to show me and FAM Howard. FAM Howard conducted a search of SPIRIDON’s person with negative results. FAM Howard nor I located anything resembling

We regrouped at Cox’s Corner Store and received information Ogden, Edward could possibly be at 41543 CR H.25 south of Mancos. Once on scene, I observed a female in the window of the residence who appeared to be on the phone. I contacted a female who identified herself as Gloriamae Casias DOB: 10/02/55. I asked Casias if she knows Ogden and she stated “yes, he is my boyfriend”. I asked Casias if she knew where Ogden was and she stated “he is on his way to work, down Mcelmo canyon”. I asked if she could contact him back and let us talk to him. Deputy Goodall talked with Ogden on the phone and Casias continued to talk to me. Casias asked if we were there because her ex-husband had been shot and that Ogden had been with her all night. I told her we are just trying to get in contact with Ogden because he was named as a suspect and I did not know any specifics on the case. Casias asked if the shooting was drug related and I
Once at HQ, I made contact with Andrew. I advised him there's a warrant for his arrest and to turn around with your hands behind your back. Andrew was then handcuffed without incident. As I was escorting Andrew to the booking room, he was inquiring about why he was under arrest. I advised it was a Theft from the above listed location. Andrew in an excited utterance stated, "I did steal that generator it was Dante Cuticchia and he stays in a Brooklawn Hotel, room 106." After high school, I plan to pursue a college degree at the University of Texas in Austin, or another top tier college, in order to double major in business and chemistry. The reason I wish to major in these two disciplines is because of my involvement in the technology startup industry and my work promoting STEM. Through my participation in an honors or research program, my goal is to conduct a research project analyzing the disparities that exist for minorities in the STEM industry, as well as noteworthy solutions organizations are using to eradicate those disparities.
At the time I read Chapter 12: Improving Decision Making, I was going through a personal crisis that required me to make a decision. My decision was fraught with emotion as it involved a breakup with someone whom I care about deeply. I had already made my decision but went back and forth, and round and round wondering if I had done the right thing. It was very obvious to those who love me that I did the right thing, but I thought it would be educational and at the very least, fun, to apply the ideas that I am learning to a real life problem. First, I will describe what a linear model is and why it can lead to superior decisions, why people resist linear models, and then finally as a strategy applied to my situation.
Pursing a career as a medical doctor is an opportunity for me to mentor youth in underserved populations. As a child, I was raised in the low income, urban community of Roxbury, MA. Although not as notorious today, the neighborhood had garnered negative attention for its high crime rates. My mother emigrated from Haiti and raised me as a single parent. Due to our financial circumstance, Roxbury became our permanent residence. I have always felt there was something lacking in Roxbury in comparison to other towns I visited. My teenage years were largely spent in the suburban town of Stoneham where I attended high school. There was a literal difference in air quality and a psychology contrast in future prospects. While native students of
My husband and I were then forced to walk further to take a shuttle bus to the main terminal. Once we arrived at the gate, I requested a wheelchair from the gate agent and immediately received it. I also requested to speak with Ms. Ancilli who was standing there. Ms. Ancilli had questioned the gate agent about giving my husband a wheelchair. The gate agent had informed Ms. Ancilli that it was in the computer that my husband required a wheelchair. Ms. Ancilli made a gesture with her hand when I had requested to speak with her. I told her I was reporting her, and requested her name, Ms. Ancilli replied in Italian “Lo Dedremo idiota”, which means, “We will see idiot”. She proceeded to yell that we were only upset because we had to pay $200.00 to check in our bags. I replied to her it was not the money, but her rudeness, arrogance, unprofessionalism and disrespect that was upsetting. I pointed out that there were other passengers who were on the same return flight as us and had more carryon luggage than we did. She did not care and shrugged her shoulders saying, “I guess the other agents didn’t do their job”.
