Anthony was a woman who proves mankind chooses to make good choices. She chose to stick up not only for herself, but all women whose rights were being denied. She stood for the equality of all people, and she devoted her life to making a change in the way the world viewed both women and slavery. Susan is an important historical figure who proves mankind cares about others and takes notice of them. Susan chose to do good in the world by speaking out for equal rights, and mankind has chosen to do good and listen to her. While some people may argue that Susan B. Anthony should not have advocated for equality so strongly because, as a result, many laws had to be changed, Anthony is one reason why American citizens have equal rights today. Without Anthony, women would not be allowed to vote and would be viewed as ignoble compared to men. She was on born on February 15,1820 in Adams, Massachusetts and was the second oldest of eight children. Her parents were Daniel Anthony, a local mill owner, and his wife, Lucy Read. She grew up in a quaker family and in 1826 her family moved to Battenville, New York. She was also sent to study at a Quaker school near Philadelphia around the time. In the late 1830’s, her father’s business began to shut down so Susan Anthony returned home to help her family. In the mid 1840’s, when she was twenty five her family moved to a farm in Rochester, New York.

On February 15, 1820, Susan B. Anthony was born in Adams Massachusetts to Lucy and Daniel Anthony. Susan out of eight children was raised in a strict Quaker family. Her father, Daniel Anthony, was a very rigid man, a Quaker cotton manufacturer and abolitionist. He believed in making sure children were guided right, not targeting them. Her father did not let his kids experience the childish enjoyments of toys, games, and music, because all of those above were seen as distractions from the Inner Light. Instead her father imposed self-discipline.

Susan B. Anthony has gone through many rough times and had to go through many obstacles. She has had many ideas to try and get women equal rights. Susan, I believe, is an amazing person to accomplish what she did. This is the reason she should be in the History Hall of Fame.

On November 5, 1872, Susan B. Anthony, a well-known leader in the women’s rights movement, along with several other women, entered the West End News Depot and cast their ballot. The women had all registered in the previous days; Anthony had registered to vote November 1, 1872 at a local barbershop, along with her three sisters. Even though the inspectors refused her initial demand to register, Anthony used her power of persuasive speaking and her relationship with well-respected persons of authority, such as Judge Henry R. Selden, to obtain her registration, informing the inspectors that if they did not register the women, they would press charges

According to author, Hope Stoddard, Susan B. Anthony was a firm, upright person. She wasn’t afraid to show it to anyone and everyone who wanted to know how she felt. One day, during a marriage custody conference, an abolitionist by the name of Rev. A. D. Mayo asked Anthony, in modified words, by what means could she take part in discussions on marriage when she was not married herself. She responded to this by saying, in revised words, that he was not a slave, so maybe he should not be taking part in discussions on slavery. It was this kind of determination that led Susan B. Anthony towards gaining women the right to have equal guardianship of their children (Dorr 55).

Although there have been several influential people in the world, the person that stood out to me most is Susan B. Anthony. Born in 1820, she was raised in a politically active family and was inspired to fight for women's rights while taking part in the Temperance Movement. Her work helped shape the 19th amendment which gave women the right to vote. Susan b. Anthony’s strong belief in women's rights and how she takes initiative into turning her beliefs into a reality is extremely courageous and should be recognised by more people.

She was severe in her moral judgments, had sympathy for people, and dedicated her life to the movements for reform. Susan B. Anthony spoke her mind about what she believed in. She grew up feeling that everyone should be equal no matter your gender or color. In the world, she noticed that this was everyone’s philosophy “men, their rights and nothing more; women, their rights and nothing less” (Susan B(rownell) Anthony). Anthony informed many about temperance. She elucidated how everyone should be equal. She supported that black men needed to be free and encouraged people to make everyone equal. Susan B. Anthony used her voice to help people cognize the evils of alcohol and that all people are equal, proving she is a hero.

She gathered many women who felt like they needed more rights. Susan B Anthony was one of the bravest women known till this day. She stood for what she believed in that is why she is so important. She helped women’s rights progress(web designer 1-2)
