The Hatchet Theme

First Brian starts his journey when he leaves his mother to go live with his dad with a hatchet his mother gave him as a gift and suddenly finds himself stranded in a rough rugged canadian wilderness. With just the single hatchet and the clothes on his back. He doesn't realize it then but he was luckily crashed by a lake for water and wildlife in and around the lake.

Steelheart by Brandon Sanderson begins with an eight year old protagonist named David Charleston as he accompanies his father to the bank. The visit looks normal, until the Epics show up (pg 7). David then proceeds to watch his father die at the hands of Steelheart, a superhuman Epic with massive destructive powers and invincibility. However, David saw Steelheart bleed and he is set on revenge (pg 20).

Brian couldn't survive without food so he had to go hunting he made a small bow and arrow. With sticks and string from the survival pack and sharpened rocks to make the arrow heads and he would kill small birds and rabbits. But that bow wasn't getting the food that he needed cause he only hit the animals half the time and sometimes it didn't kill the animals. So he made a bigger and better bow and this he could barely pole back and with that he killed a deer and a moose but the moose didn't die and

He stayed up all night until the bow looked beautiful. When he tried the bow it broke, Brian made many mistakes but it made him better. He then made a new bow and went hunting for fish. This time his target succeeded and he got the fish. He became proud that he captured the fish.

Have you ever been stranded in the middle of nowhere with no humanity for miles? In the book, Hatchet, the main character has crash landed in the Canadian wilderness. He survives for 54 days in the woods. He had some ups and downs, but he learned from his mistakes. During his survival in the woods, he found out how to hunt fool birds and he learned that his hatchet ,his mother gave him, could tear through the aluminum plane.

What does it mean to survive? Have you ever imagined yourself in the Canadian wilderness without anything but a hatchet and not knowing how you ended up there? Well, a 13 year old boy named Brian has put his life and soul to finding a way to survive. He survived by using trial and error, by not giving up, and his senses to survive. He doesn't have any food ready, no matches, and no tools besides his hatchet.

In those fifty-four days, Brian learned how to survive on his own. In my opinion, Brian does what he can to survive on his own. In the following paragraphs, I will explain how Brian survives during his time in the Canadian woods.

Gary Paulsen’s story,”Hatchet” is about a young boy whose plane crashes in the woods close to a lake on the way to see his dad. Before the plane took off, Brian's mom gave him a hatchet to put in his waist belt. When his plane crashed the pilot died but Brian didn't, so Brian is left to survive off of the skills he already knows. He didn't quite know that many, but he had a few gadgets, like the hatchet his mom gave him. When the plane crashed Brian could've easily just killed himself but he didn't, he did not give up trying. Therefore because Brian didn't give up, so, he soon started to survive.. Brian would use his hatchet to build his shelter and get food.The nights that Brian was hungry and wanted to look for food, he got up made a spear

The book is about a thirteen year old boy named Brian who is from New York. His plane crashed and he got trapped in the Canadian Wilderness on his way to visit his dad. Brian was lost alone, and barely had any supplies to help him.

In the novel,”Hatchet” by Gary Paulsen, a young boy survives a plane crash in the wilderness, and is forced to survive all alone. The author develops several themes throughout the story. One theme in particular is trust yourself and the decisions you make in order to survive. This can be seen in how he would fly the plane,getting food, and using survival skills.

He ends up seeing a group of Indians spying on him. When Brian gets back to his living area, he finds lots of his items are missing and he believes it was the Indians that were spying on him earlier. Because his resources were missing, he didn't have the wood to make a fire for warmth. A few days later, his resources and things went missing again and he wanted to scavenge to see if he could find his missing things. Brian went to search for his belongings at night, while looking for his things he heard something or someone following him so he turned around and saw a bear, he shot at the bear and killed, which provided food for eating, and fur for warmth during the cold nights.

Armed with nothing but a hatchet, Brian must rely on his wits and survival skills to endure the harsh conditions of the wilderness and find a way to be rescued. Summary: The novel begins with Brian traveling to visit his father in the Canadian oil fields. During the flight, the pilot suffers a heart attack and the plane crashes in a remote forest.

Once I read a book called the Hatchet. It inspired me to believe in people and yourself. This guy named Brain has to survive in the wild and has a hatchet only to survive with. Gary Paulsen wrote this novel, the first of five books in his series. The book the Hatchet was published on September 30, 1987, and it was originally an adult genre.
