To some, war is a necessary evil. The United States has been involved in many wars since it’s founding in the late 1700’s and will in all probability continue to be involved in several more wars throughout the continuation its future. The wars the United States have been involved in previously and now currently a part of, results from a culmination of reasons (some necessary and others unnecessary). Although war is not always a popular thing to become a part of, the full effects of the war can’t possibly be known and may never be known as long as the United States is a country. Crane perpetuates this by stating “Because your father… Raged at his breast, gulped and died (686). Further, several other physical effects beg for US citizens to support the individuals. A few of these conditions could possibly be; the loss of limbs, sight, hearing, etc. A writer for “Aging and Mental Health” magazine states that in any traumatic war experience, malnutrition, immunological deficiencies, and chronic infections lead to greatly increased mortality rates soon after the war and over their lifetime (Davies 100). Further investigation would show an individual that these effects are prominent throughout the world currently, even without war being the cause. Many underdeveloped countries around the world currently have the aforementioned malnutrition and suffering. This suffering will continue forever unless their countries develop to the point where these helpless people can be taken care of. Hopefully the United States, supposedly being one of the most developed countries in the world, can help returning wartime soldiers coming home from essential missions from around the world with the physical aspects of the home life that they may no longer able to perform. One way the United States can help out the soldiers returning with missing limbs, is by fitting them with the limb or body parts that they have lost. According to Spc.
