Friar Lawrence has caused the deaths of the two teenagers. The Friar knew about Romeo and Juliet’s marriage, he even married them together and didn’t tell anyone besides the Nurse. On page 418 the Friar says, “so smile the heavens upon this holy act that after hours with sorrow chide us not!” Which means that you are together and the future will not punish them with sadness. As you can see on page 453 the Friar says to Juliet, “This distilled liquor drink thou off; When presently through all thy veins shall run a cold drowsy humor.” What the Friar is describing are the effects of the potion if Juliet drinks it. Another way the Friar is guilty of murder is that he didn't deliver the letter to Romeo himself, if he wouldn't have given the letter to Friar John and just delivered the letter himself then Romeo would have known about Juliet’s ‘Death’. As you can see on page 468, Romeo was expecting a letter from the Friar but doesn't receive one. “Dost thou not bring me letters from the Friar?” Even though Friar Lawrence is mostly the blame for the two teen’s deaths it is also the Capulet’s faults because Mr. And Mrs. Capulet pushed Juliet to marry Paris. Mr. Capulet even disowned his poor daughter because at first she declined her father’s proposal to marry Paris (page 444). But, the deaths of Romeo and
Some people may think the Nurse and Friar Lawrence is ultimately to blame for Romeo and Juliet deaths. The Nurse and Friar Lawrence both kept secrets. The Nurse told Juliet to marry Paris and the Friar knew Juliet was brave enough to take the sleeping potion and fake her death. Fate and
This could have been diverted if Friar Lawrence stayed and explained to Romeo or watch Juliet while she mourned and explain the coincidence to her and help her through the mourning process. Some could argue that it was not Friar Lawrence’s fault about the deaths but they are wrong nor right because it is an opinion. They could argue that he could not do anything about the process of their deaths but he was the main person that was there all the time in the story. They could also argue that he should not have been held responsible for giving Juliet poison that was actually a sleeping potion that Romeo did not know about so he killed himself and then she awoke to find him dead so she killed herself and let us not forget that Friar Lawrence left her in the room alone so she could “ settle things out” or whatever his excuse was so now they are both dead and it is his fault even though the Prince Escalus took all the blame from him because he is a saint which is a lie because he gave poison to a child that lead to teenagers deaths and even worse was he got away with it.
How a Friar Caused the Death of Two Lovers Imagine two people who love each other so much can not love each other because of a family feud and a Friar is to blame for their deaths. Some people think the feuds between the families are to blame for the lovers death, but others think Friar Lawrence is to blame. For example, in William Shakespeare’s play, Romeo and Juliet, “Firi Lawrence is to blame for the two lovers’ death because of a risky plan and for marrying the lovers secretly. Friar Lawrence was to blame for Romeo and Juliet's deaths because of his risky plan. According to William Shakespeare’s play, Romeo and Juliet, Friar Lawrance made a risky plan that killed the two lovers.
“O happy dagger, This is thy sheath: there rust, and let me die. ”(iv.iii.?) This is the moment right before Juliet kills herself. It was a powerful moment, full of emotion. What if it was all preventable?
In Romeo And Juliet, Friar Lawrence plays a very important role in not only being a friend of the lovers, but also the person who is to blame for their deaths. Many people argue about who is the one who caused their deaths; Friar always seems to be the most popular. There are different explanations on who is to blame for Romeo and Juliet's death, two big ones being Friar Lawrence and Nurse.
Famous 1930’s actress Joan Crawford once said, “Love is a fire, but whether it will warm your heart or burn down your house, you can never tell”. In William Shakespeare’s tragedy, Romeo and Juliet, impulse love and bad mentorship lead to multiple deaths and two devastated families. Friar Lawrence is responsible for what transpired for a multitude of reasons. The first reason Friar Lawrence is ultimately to blame for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet is that he gave Juliet the sleeping potion. When Juliet went to Friar Lawrence to get counseling on the banishment of Romeo, Friar Lawrence should have only given her advice to follow God and obey the law.
The three characters that are most at fault for Romeo and Juliet’s death are Friar Lawrence ,Capulet and Romeo. Friar Lawrence is to blame for the death of Romeo and Juliet because the Friar did not fully think out his plan. First of all, the Friar Lawrence is responsible for Romeo and Juliet’s death
I believe the Friar is the one to blame for Romeo and Juliet’s deaths. One reason is that if he didn't marry Romeo and Juliet. “In respect I’ll thy assistant be; for this alliance man prove to turn your households into pure love”(act 2 scene 3). The Friar thought that by marrying the two young lovers would fix the family feud but in the end it all fell apart. The Friar also gives Juliet the poison. “And, if thou darest, I’ll give thee remedy” (Act 4 pg 453). Not to mention that Juliet didn't know the Friar so all for she knows he can be a criminal trying to kill her. “I hear thou must and nothing may prorogue it on Thursday next be married to this county” (S.S 452).
“Then plainly know my heart's dear love is set on the fair daughter of rich Capulet.” was a quote of Romeo in the play Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare. This play is about two teenagers, Romeo, and Juliet, from feuding families who fall into love with each other, and it takes place in the city of Verona. Friar Lawrence secretly marries them, but then Romeo gets into a fight and gets banished forever. Juliet's father, Lord Capulet wants Juliet to marry one of the king’s men, Paris, but Juliet does not want to. The Friar helps her get out of marrying Paris. There are a lot of deaths in this book, and I believe that Friar Lawrence, and Lord Capulet are to blame for these deaths.
Friar Lawrence plays a big part in causing the death of Romeo and Juliet because he secretly marries them knowing something either negative or positive will happen. Friar even tells Romeo the cautions for he says 'Wisely and slow. They stumble that run fast.' (Act II Scene III 97) Friar marries them because he thinks that the marriage is going to end the feud between the families of Romeo and Juliet. He knows that even though Romeo and Juliet are in love they will never be able to see each other. Not in a grave to lay one in, another out to have” (Act II scene III 85) Also, if Friar Lawrence did not give Juliet the potion that she was going to use to deceive her family into thinking she was dead to get out of her marriage to Paris and make Romeo aware of what was going to happen, their deaths would not have occurred. Romeo goes to the tomb thinking Juliet is really dead after Balthasar accidently informed him of Juliet’s apparent death not knowing of her plan. If he had stayed there longer without taking the poison he had obtained from Apothecary they both would not have killed themselves. He brought the poison to the tomb to end his own life next to Juliet after seeing for himself if she was really dead. Romeo did not want to live without Juliet.
Friar Lawrence is a valuable person in the book Romeo and Juliet. He offers advice and helps tries to help Juliet find a way out of marriage. He is a wise and sympathetic man. He is always looking out for people in need. When Romeo comes to Friar Lawrence because Romeo thinks he is in love with Juliet. Friar Lawrence takes his opinion into consideration, and tries to help him out, at the best of his abilities. Some critics argue whether or not it it was his fault for their death. It was truly his fault. Friar Lawrence is guilty for the death of Romeo and Juliet is because he gave Juliet the potion, he knew how Romeo would react the way he did, and he had left Juliet by herself when she found out Romeo was dead.
Romantic love stories are often ended with a tragedy, because of loss of passion or a loved one. These tragedies are often the result of one person’s actions that ended someone’s life or love. In the Romeo and Juliet play written by William Shakespeare, two citizens of Verona come together and fall deeply in love. Unfortunately their love comes to an end, along with their lives, because of a misunderstanding and a persistent feud between their families. Although there are many characters in this play that have contributed to Romeo and Juliet’s death, Friar Laurence is the person most to blame.
Romeo and Juliet death, The person to blame for Romeo and Juliet death is Friar Lawrence. Friar Laurence is the most blame person their death because He married Romeo and Juliet, Make Juliet fake her death, and Left Juliet in tomb alone.
Friar Lawrence had the idea that if he married Romeo and Juliet, he would bring peace between the Montagues and the Capulets. However, the marriage is kept a secret, and Lord Capulet still wants Juliet to marry Paris. Juliet believes that she has no other way to be with Romeo than to fake her death. “Take thou this vial, being then in bed, and this distilled liquor thou off, when presently through all veins shall run a cold and drowsy humour for no pulse shall keep his native progress but surcease: No warmth, no breath, shall testify thou livest; The roses in thy lips and cheeks shall fade, to paly ashes, thy eyes’ windows fall, like death, when he shuts up the day of life” (4.1.96-104). In order for Juliet to fake her death and be with Romeo, she needed help from Friar Lawrence. He gives her a potion that makes her seem dead for forty-two hours. The issue here is that Romeo wasn’t ever notified of this plan and the message wasn’t delivered to him. Romeo thought that Juliet was actually dead, and as a result, he decides to kill himself. When Juliet wakes up and realizes Romeo is dead, she kills herself successfully. If Friar Lawrence hadn’t married Romeo and Juliet, and had delivered Romeo the message himself, the suicides could have been avoided. As a result, Friar Lawrence has a partial blame in the deaths of Romeo and
What is most responsible for the two lovely lover-Romeo and Juliet’s death? In my opinion, there is no one particular person to really blame on their death. However, it is every single person are should be blamed for the deaths of both Romeo and Juliet. If I was answering the question of who were the few most responsible people for their tragedy-it would be three people. Because of people’s decision and different point of view, the people most responsible for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet are Lady Capulet, Nurse, and Friar Lawrence.
