The book Black Hearts begins by painting an awful picture of a crime scene that was reported to 1st platoon Bravo Company of the 1-502nd 101st Airborne Division. The soldiers that are sent to investigate find that an entire family has been murdered, the daughter had been raped, and someone attempted to set the house ablaze, the family had all been killed in a seemingly brutal execution, while investigating one of the NCOs found a shotgun shell which he thought was strange because most Iraqis do not use shotguns. He compiled the evidence to be sent up to higher and they chalked it up as another Iraqi on Iraqi sectarian execution. Then the book takes us to before any of that happened, the book focuses on a battalion in the 101st Airborne

There was a man name Marcus Hutchins. Hutchins was a young British researcher. Marcus was charge with wrecking a global cyberattack. The crime Hutchins cause was a program called malware. Malware effects web browsers. When Marcus was on his way back from an annual gathering of hackers, he was put away in Las Vegas. On Hutchins court date the grand jury says Hutchins was charged with creating and distributing malware. The name of the malware was Kronos banking Trojan. Jake Williams was a man that works with Marcus Hutchins with different projects. He found it hard to believe that Marcus was guilty. Hutchins spent the night in Las Vegas in federal custody.

In 1929 the Uniform Crime was created by the International Association of Chiefs of Police. Yet, in the year of 1930, the Federal Bureau of Investigations became in charge of finalizing information collected for the crime reports. The Uniform Crime Report is an official data on crime that occurs throughout the United States. Once all information is reported from different police department, the Federal Bureau of Investigations breaks down all the collected data into charts. During the 1800s, crime and punishment began to rise. You were punished for major offences and minor offences. The minor offences normally were given the death sentence, usually given out for stealing. The crimes were most likely committed by the people in need, because most families in the 1800s lived in poverty. As time passed some communities believed that some of the punishments for crime were too harsh, so changes began to be made. The amount of punishments received for minor crimes reduced. Some of the crime they saw in the 1800s we still see today along with a few of the punishments.
