Both “Killings” and “In the Bedroom” expose sympathy towards the Fowler’s, but by examining the similarities and differences the film version allows the audience to have more sympathy. Between them both the audience can see how some scenes are different and how some are the same, how there is a similar theme yet have a few differences, and how one is killed between the two which all leads to the film having more sympathy for the Fowler’s.

The comparisons and contrasts between The Hiding Place and Night. Both books were written with struggles, tenderness, agony, and fear in mind. Of these two books only one comes out and realizes that what they have gone through was not a cruse but some what a blessing from God, Himself. The struggles both face is more than just man against man but it is also a struggle within to find who they truly are and whom they truly believe in. Both main characters, Eli and Corrie, faced something they never knew they could face but only one comes out stronger than the other.

In the movie there was not a family so it was more of a romantic horror story then the book. In the book itś just a family who lives in a small town that is getting attacked by birds and fending for their own family not fending for certain people in the family more then other such as Mitch caring for Melody more than his own mother. One thing that made both the movie and the book even more horror like was the radio system. The radio system was a big thing in both due to the world news, alerts, and what was going on in other places in the world.

Danny had a normal childhood, however his father was known to take to the drink more than is healthy. He was an alcoholic and often became enraged when he was drunk. Most of his childhood was spent staying away from his father and dealing with his father’s substance abuse. Danny became set on not becoming like his father and did well at first, however the memories of his father’s abuse and anger, the explosion of the boiler in the hotel which killed everyone but him and his mother, and the constant night-terrors and hallucinations of his past drew him into self medicating with alcohol.

The other four youths fear their new kinfolk; people from the more far off family dissent about the inclination that has been appeared to Harriet and Dave and their tremendous expensive house and youngsters consistently. Ben murders pets and weakens diverse newborn children. Harriet despises and fears this tyke yet is forever bound to him by parenthood. Exactly when whatever is left of the family sends Ben away to a foundation, she finds him and brings him home. The fundamental people Ben exists together with are more prepared young fellows, a bunch of washouts and dropouts who brightly take the money Harriet pays them to "draw in" Ben for the duration of the day.

Solomon becomes determined that he cannot lose his son, so he does everything he can to find him on the path to the diamond. Solomon opens up to Danny and tells him that his son loves to learn and will one day become a doctor. Danny tells Maddy, “You know Solomon thinks his son will be a doctor someday? Maybe his baby dies in that camp, maybe his daughter gets raped. Who knows, maybe both. Do you realize that that diamond is his only chance of getting his family out of here.” Danny realizes how much Solomon needs to find his family, and it is his first time understanding this because he never had a family for himself. Danny’s objective shifts little by little and he becomes increasingly protective of Solomon because he wants him to find his son. Throughout their mission to find the diamond, Danny watches Solomon risk his life everyday just to see his son, and risk his life to save other people, like the little boy who is injured on the side of the road due to a shooting. Danny’s complete change of heart comes from watching Solomon reunite with his family, and seeing how determined Solomon is to get his son back from the R.U.F, and becoming close to

The Little Golden Book and the film again are the most similar. However there are key differences that make each of these stories different. For example, in the Little Golden Book the minister is not evil. While this does not change the plot drastically, it still makes minor changes. In the film the stepmother found the glass slipper and told the minister to not pick Cinderella and he did what she said because he wanted to be ruler.
