Introduction: In this essay, I will discuss three sections of business among many which hold ethical issues. Those sections are advertising, product liability, and leadership ethics. Within the three sections, I will identify and briefly discuss three specific ethical issues. I will then choose one ethical issue and go into the detail about how ABC Widgets Inc. will implement a policy on how to avoid the ethical issue. Advertising: Advertising has many ethical issues; however, I will focus on integrity, bribery, and manipulation. Integrity is a question of motives. It questions the purpose behind what is being advertised and the character of the company/person who is supporting it. You need your audience 's trust if you want them to buy your products; there has to be a relationship. However, it is not integrity alone but integrity intertwined with persuasion and character. An example of this is the famous Jack Bennett case of 1997. Jack pulled in many individuals as well as businesses with his persuasion and enticed them to join the cause to help others. However, his audience misjudged his character. Jack Bennett’s company, New Era Philanthropy, promised to match donations with money from anonymous donors when he simply did not have anonymous donors. He did this to help charities yet he lied to his faithful and inspired customers. Lack of integrity is a big issue in advertising. Winston Churchill used the skill of woo, which is to win others over. This skill is the same

1. Consequentialist moral theories see the moral rightness or wrongness of actions as a function of their results. If the consequences are sufficiently good, the action is right; if they are sufficiently bad, the action is wrong. However, nonconsequentialist theories see other factors as also relevant to the determination of right and wrong.
In comparing and contrasting two articles which analyze and evaluate ethics in business, the impact of corporate social responsibility and ethical behavior by corporation and their managers can be understood by the public perception documented in a survey of Hawaiian residents, as well as the argument of negative value to consumers when self-interest and lack of ethics are part of an organization’s business model. The survey results in Choy’s article demonstrate the impression of a decline in corporate ethical behavior over the past twenty years. Both articles use the environment of competition to discuss the characteristics of ethical and moral behavior in the corporate realm. The recommendation based on the evaluation of information in the two articles is for business organizations to employ ethical and moral practices that include the values of society, and use traditional morality in all business dealings. The value of corporate social responsibility will be acknowledged and appreciated by consumers, and both economic and social gains can be achieved.
Business ethics refers to the consideration of moral decisions and responsibilities in the process of operating a business. Business ethics, practiced throughout the deepest layers of a company, become the heart and soul of the company 's culture and can mean the difference between success and failure. Values drive behavior and therefore need to be consciously stated, but they also need to be affirmed by actions. Ethical business environments are created with foundations of integrity, accountability and commitment.

Every day businesses are faced with making decisions that can have far reaching effects within their organization and the communities in which their business are based. Company Q is one of these businesses. Recent decisions made within this company have demonstrated a trend that would suggest Company Q has a negative attitude toward social responsibility. This attitude can be evidenced by the closing of two stores in high-crime rate areas because they were consistently losing money, offering minimal amounts of health-conscious and organic foods despite high demand, and declining donations of day-old products rather than donating these items to the local area’s food bank due to concerns of fraud and stealing by employees.
A Sticky Situation is a case that exemplifies the ethical dilemmas individuals face in the business world and how ethical theories can provide various solutions. In this case, Kent Graham has been an account manager at Dura-Stick Label products for two years, a deserved forerunner in the industry of label converting for durable-products. Although Kent was hired with 10 years of previous experience in label converting, his work at Dura Stick has not been up to par with the company’s reputation. Due to this, Kent believes that if he doesn’t close on some big accounts, he will lose his job and ultimately not have the resources to support his wife and two children.
2. Ethical Issues in Business. It seems that every day in the news we are hearing of new company that has acted at least unethically and possibly illegally in the operation and financial reporting of their company's business dealings. There are many ethical issues in business. One major issue that we see is over and under reporting net income. Companies like to show that every quarter the net income of the business has an increase or profit. In order to show this they adopt unethical or illegal means in the operation and financial reporting. One such method is the indiscriminate use of stock options for employees that enable companies to take employment costs off balance sheet and inflate earnings. With the recent ethical issues we have

Plus he did not accept the offer confirming that he was accepting the price and when he did Hazelton’s amitted to the mistake. When he did that he took the offer off the table so in the end whatever contract they had was invalid.
The movie Erin Brockovich is based on actual events involving corporate business knowingly endangering the health of local residents and the environment. This factual event is a great example of capitalism on steroids with no empathy for who are what is destroyed on their path for wealth. The events that unfold show the degenerative break down of ethical values through the business format of Pacific Gas and Electric. PG&E lacked ethical and practical management qualities and took sweeping the dirt under the rug to the extreme.

Globally, Wal-Mart is the second largest revenue generating company. It is surprising to see so many discriminating issues within the company. Women working for the company are consistently treated unfairly, yet other issues exist. It is as if Wal-Mart has fallen into the negative economic routine. The company is guilty of everyday social discrimination; gender discrimination is just one main focus of our discussion. The affects of gender discrimination affect how women are treated, their income, and company policies.
Sturdy ethical business practices represent a trademark of a superior company that an individual may need to assemble and maintain in your developing business. Business ethics apprehends groups or individuals; however, the one who formulate them will be swayed by the background of the company. Therefore, employees must fix on what they believe is the best line of action. Additionally, ethical corporate societal responsibility and behavior can result in a significant advantage to a business. For instance, they may retain employees within the business, lower labor income and thus amplify productivity. Secondly, they appeal to customers to the business products, thus improving profits and sales.
There are different key points that come into play when it comes to advertising; it’s not as easy as trying to get a person to buy something. For some, the main purpose of advertising is to raise awareness. Such reason requires companies to focus on vicinity, responsibility, research, emotion and persuasion. Moreover, “advertising must tap into emotion for greater effect – but that doesn’t mean it’s manipulative… it means it’s relevant [...] I’ve never seen an ad that forced me to click, but I have seen some ads that tapped directly into my needs that I clicked on” (Douglas Karr). In other words, advertising must be able to grab the attention of viewers in a way that it makes them feel a connection with what is being displayed in front of them. Advertising isn’t all about persuasion either, it also focuses on changing people’s minds and changing their perception about the products
