1. The four steps to a better relationship are identified, plan, implements and evaluate. I was having a disagreement with my mother on where should I go to college after high school graduation. She would not agree on the choice I made. I am an analytical and my mother is expressive. I did change my way of communicating to her which is the planning process. I try to talk less about the concept of transferring and the logical reason. When I try to talk to her again, the implement steps, I did do mental check to remember not talk to her about the stuff she does not understand. 2. In English class, we are doing a group project and there is no process after the group meet together. Group members cannot decide what the topic should be. I notice …show more content…
The four phases of intimate relationships are attraction, frustration, adjustment, and devotion. Attraction is the first phase. People attract to other of different styles. The different become an advantage and people often commit to a lifelong relationship. Frustration is the second phase. The advantages of attractive point of partner became a disadvantage. People deal conflict in the extreme of their styles and it is the phases most relationship end. The third phases are adjustment. During this phases, couples encounter different kind of problems such as mortgage, retirement saving and having children. There are ways to navigate through problems: a shift from judgement to acceptance, realize that there are unsolvable problems, try to change own self, not the partner, and appreciate the different. The last phrases are devotion and there are three characteristics. Both persons have confidence in the relationship, enjoy intimacy, and go with the flow in the …show more content…
There are two key things to give to employees to increase their motivation. The two thing is the responsibility for achieving something and the authority to do it their own way. This two thing is call empowerment. Employees would not want to disappoint themselves and work harder. It is a win-win situation. Employees are motivated because of empowerment and manager get better performance and happier employees. Although there are difficulties in teamworking, the positive outweigh the negative. In a team, employees solve a problem easier and expertise are used better. Employees are more energized and feel secure when working in a team. The best conflict resolution for a team is collaboration because team members all have the same goal. Team members can decide a mutually satisfying solution. The decision-making strategies use the most is group resolution. Every group members have the same power. They have to come up with the decision or the manager will make the
A mandatory minimum sentence occurs when judicial discretions are limited by law (Famm). Those who are convicted of certain crimes must be punished with at least the minimum number of years depending on the offense. Amanda Dollak who received her criminal justice degree at CTU, states “Mandatory sentences require every individual to receive the same punishment for similar offenses, regardless of how much a judge may object to the sentence”. These mandatory sentencing laws however vary from state to state, and in other countries. In 1994 California introduced a policy called “3 strikes you’re out”, which meant after a third criminal conviction the arrested person would be
There are several ways in keeping the team motivated and committed for the cause they are working together. Some of my techniques include the following issues:
Employees should always be motivated; this attracts talent, opens up new channels for innovation and creativity and brings in a sense of satisfaction among them which helps the growth and development of the organization.
Research has repeatedly found that the main team motivators are achievement, recognition, work itself, responsibility, advancement and growth. In other words, even though adequate salaries, incentive pay and bonus plans could avoid dissatisfaction, they do not lead to either job satisfaction or high motivation. The best way to motivate your team, but realizes that people are motivated by their own individual goals, values and aspirations. People know and understand their needs, and then give them to the project tasks in which they can be motivated by meeting their needs. People are more motivated by feelings and sensitivities than they are facts and logic. It is common for people to say in well-paying job because they do not feel appreciated, do not feel challenged nor do not want work environment.
The levels of motivation within a team can be affected both positively and negatively in a variety of different ways.
“We the people” were the first three words of the constitution which prevents one person from having most of the power or all of it. The power is split into three branches which are the Judicial, Executive, and two Legislative branches. That prevents one of the groups or people to have all the power. These branches are still used to this day which is called The constitution. The Constitution splits up the power between people, which stops tyranny and makes it the people, Theirs checks and balances between the branches, and their is a bicameral 2 house congress.
Marriage requires effort and work. Many newlyweds come into a marriage thinking it is easy but do not consider the consequences of marriage that heavily rely on balances and partnership. Marriage is all about compromise. It is important to engage in a premarital program to allow both partners to learn what to expect within a marriage, how to face certain roadblocks, and to better communication when conflict is aroused so that divorce does not become an option. Gottman’s research (2009) has made a significant contribution to the study of relationship and marriage tying unity, harmony, and communication together to make relationship and marriage work. When a couple who does not have consummate love (intimacy, passion, and commitment), they often portray the six indicators of divorce: harsh startup, the Four Horsemen, flooding, body language, failed repair attempts and reflecting on bad memories (Gottman, 2009). Divorce often occurs within the first two years of marriages and almost half of divorces end within the first seven years (Bhutto-Ramirez, 2015).
In today’s society, intimate relationships with significant others are valued differently depending on the each individual. Over the years the norms of relationships have changed: how an individual meets his or her significant other, the interactions that follow the relationship, and the way an individual copes with the expectations of the relationship. Some of the factors that can influence this value is the length of the relationship and the individual’s own uncertainty. Causal uncertainty in the intimate relationship satisfaction is an important topic in people’s daily life. Some people enjoy their short relationship about one to three months, because they think short-term relationship brings them passion and makes them feel stimulated. However, some people think that longer relationship, over one year, makes them feel more satisfied and stable, because they can have more time to know each other and to think about if they are suitable for each other. Also, they can grow and study together. A report lists the advantages of having a long-term intimate relationship. The report discusses that after college your support system might be different as your friends might have moved or have changed in
Over the last several years, the issue of employee motivation inside the workplace has been increasingly brought to the forefront. The reason why is because, globalization has been having an effect on the ability of firms to compete (which is placing more pressure on them). To deal with these challenges, most organizations are relying on their employees. The results are that those employers who are able to use this resource will be able to make adjustments quickly. This is when the firm will be able to maintain their dominance in the marketplace.
There is much evidence regarding the existence of five key areas in which happy and unhappy couples differ: how well they communicate, flexibility, emotional closeness, personality compatibility, and how they handle conflict. The research identified another set of five areas which have a direct impact upon a couple’s happiness: sexual relationship, choice of leisure activities, family and friend influence, positive financial management, and agreement on spiritual beliefs. Deficiencies in any of these areas are predictive of marital failure. Of the aforementioned areas, there is much discussion regarding the role of sex in successful. Whereas sexual expression between two people who love each other is presumed to be a positive exhibition of such love, individuals differ with respect to sexual preferences, needs, habits, and goals. Accordingly, if both partners are mutually satisfied then harmony ensues; however, differences can lead to conflict that can have detrimental effects upon the relationship. It is important to understand that while sex is an indicator of intimacy, there are different types of intimacy: sexual, social, emotional, intellectual, and recreational. Differences in any of these
The five general perspectives on human behavior used are the biological perspective, the learned perspective, the social and cultural perspective, the cognitive perspective and the psychodynamic perspective. These five perspectives can help us to understand just how a relationship can begin when two people meet. How their relationship might develop, and how the relationship will be maintained. All of the perspectives play a part in how we begin a relationship and how the relationship will be maintained over time. Throughout the course of this paper we will compare and contrast how these perspectives impact our behavior in a loving relationship. I will use my own marriage with my wife to show how each of the perspectives contributed to the beginning of our relationship, the maintenance of our relationship and how the differences have had a negative impact on our relationship.
To counteract the current environment and truly motivate engineers to be excited, inspired, productive, and committed, managers need to use a combination of motivational theories to be successful; one simply will not work for all. To motivate employees managers must be enthusiastic and motivated themselves. Their enthusiasm will become a role model for others to follow. Have one on one meetings with employees and work with them to set clear personal short and long term goals that align with the goals of the organization. According to Kinicki and Kreitner, “Not only do goals make us selectively perceptive, they also motivate us to act.” (Kinicki & Kreitner, 2009, 187). Managers need to review goal progress during one on one meeting and help remove roadblocks that stand in the way of employees achieving their goals. According to an article on the website Changing Minds.org, “If other people set us goals without our involvement, then we are much less likely to be motivated to work hard at it than if we feel we have set or directed the goal ourselves.” (anonymous, 2010).
There are many ways in which companies can encourage and support motivation. Some of those techniques are: Involving employees in decision making, providing feedback, keeping employees informed at all times, building trust and relationships, and much more.
With this being said, motivation is very complex and is continuously fluctuating over time (Maslow, 1954). Getting employees optimally motivated is very difficult, due to the various components that go into motivation. However, when an employee is positively motivated, they will be able to accomplish any task set in front of them.
In my opinion, the best motivation for the employees is to be honest, trustworthy, and personable. When employees can trust their leaders they tend to be more motivated and involved in the company. To gain my employees trust I always try to relate to my employees and understand their situations. It is vital to keep in mind that the organization consists of people, not robots and everyone has their own unique problems and challenges that can be distractive. As a leader, it is paramount that we relate to our employees on a personal level and this will help gain their trust. This strategy seems to be effective in a long run and can be very positive for the company. Another key element in motivating my staff is leading by example. Leaders that actually lead their employees instead of just barking orders can inspire motivation without saying a word. I believe
