How was one of the most crazy, power seeking, people on the planet ever defeated? In 1936 Adolf Hitler with the help of Joseph Goebbels, propaganda minister, Hermann Goering the general of the air force, and Heinrich Himmler who was in charge of the SS all began to annex the neighboring countries of Austria and Czechoslovakia. Soon after Hitler made a pact with Stalin, dictator of the Soviet Union. The Non-Aggression Pact that would allow Hitler to invade Poland. In 1939 he attacked Poland unleashing a Blitzkrieg or “Lightning War” that soon defeated the country. 1939 England and France declared war on Hitler and WWII had officially began. As Poland fell the last remnants in Warsaw, the capital of Poland, was completely defeated and crushed
How did Hitler stay in power? Hitler took advantage of the economic and political weakness as a gateway into power, and once he took control he found many ways to easily remain in command. Hitler used many ways and strategies to remain in power during World War II. He used political strategies and others such as propaganda, youth groups, and laws that appealed to some of the citizens of Germany, as many of these groups and laws affected Jewish citizens negatively. How did the economic and political conditions of post-World War I Europe lead to the rise of Hitler?
In the early 1930's during Hitler's uprising, he began to sweep throughout Europe seeking out nations to conquer and add to his already growing German empire. He used the Soviets distrust of the western nations to form a temporary alliance and take over Poland. France, and Britain would soon join the battle against one of the most powerful and destructive European powers.
Ever since Hitler rose to power in January 1931, up to 1932, he built his power base and managed as well to make it impossible for him to be legally removed from power. He managed to do so, mainly; by making sure that every powerful group that could have indeed removed him from power remained idle or was annihilated. These were, at the time, trade unions, his political opponents, church leaders and army officers, and they were dealt with differently according to how much power they had in reality, either giving concessions or eliminating them ruthlessly.
After World War I, Poland was emerged from the breakup of the Empire and was considered a successor state. Many Polish nationalist believed Poland should be without Jews. In fact, a right wing national party was created that pushed Jews out and tried to establish Roman Catholic as the dominant religion. During this time, Jews were given economic and educational restrictions. A man by the name of Morgenthau, explained the anti-Jewish violence in Poland with examples and was published in a New York Times article. Below are some of the examples he used that explain the anti-Jewish violence in Poland.
During World War II, Germany’s military was superior to anyone else in the world, with far more advanced technology, tactics, and weaponry. They had a fearless leader who would stop at nothing to make his country great again. Their closest rival, the Soviet Union, was almost out of the picture with a death toll of over 26 million. On top of that, Germany had nothing to lose, and would not conceivably stop. So how then, with all odds against them, did the Allies win the war? A combination of factors affected Germany’s downfall, such as lack of morale, unwieldy weapons, and failure to work with its so-called allies.
In 1939 he attacked Poland unleashing a Blitzkrieg or “Lightning War” that soon defeated the country. 1939 England and France declared war on Hitler and WWII had officially began. As Poland fell the last remnants
World War II was arguably the most famous war of the 20th century. Spanning from 1939 to 1945, it was the bloodiest war in modern history involving more than 30 countries. The infamous “Fuhrer of the Third Reich”, Adolf Hitler was the lead antagonist of the axis power throughout the duration of WWII. World renowned for his aggressive political and military decisions, Hitler’s campaign was not only known as reckless but impeccable all at once. Hitler would go on a brilliant campaign conquering the majority of Eastern Europe, which then lead to “Operation Blau,” the Siege of Stalingrad.
Hitler’s early victories in WWII can be attributed to at least two factors. First, Hitler had his country ready for war while the other countries were poorly prepared. Hitler used propaganda and other tactics to make the German people eager for war. He used their anger at the loss of WWI and their treatment under the Treaty of Versailles to make them want to get revenge and to regain their rightful (what they saw in their eyes) place.
Poland was initially invaded by Germany and the Soviet Union in 1939. However, in 1941, Germany captured all of Poland by destroying the Russians and causing them to suffer a significant amount of loss in their territory and population. While Hitler ordered that the civilians of Warsaw be mass murdered, including women and children; so the city may fall in ruin. The number of the Jewish population decreased by almost half in only a year by the Nazis. Because of the large population of Jews living in Warsaw, it became the main reason for Hitler’s hatred towards the place and wanted to wipe the Polish capital from the world; the Nazis even liquidated the Jewish ghetto. Eventually, the Poles decided to stand up against the Nazis. But the Home
1938 plots of resistance to Hitler's fascist regime within the German military are growing exponentially each passing month. What once began as a campaign to establish the German people to their greatest height, now has become one of the greatest controversial dictatorial failures of the modern century. The German war machine once seemed unstoppable to a point were all of continental Europe's democracy, was in grave danger. Only to have been slowly destroyed from the inside out, the lack of sane leadership from Hitler, Goebbels, and Himmler brought about the end of the third Reich. Only a select few within this dying nation, saw the truth behind Hitler's manipulation of
Hitler used incredible strategy in all of his Propaganda pieces, he knew how to create a piece that would deface those he thought were his enemies. No matter who came under attack by Hitler a Propaganda piece would soon follow to destroy their public name, and to entice more people to want Hitler to lead. The Nazis used strategic propaganda for everyone during their regime, the Nazis' personalized the propaganda depending the areas or the workplaces the propaganda was ran in ("Third Reich"). With the strategic thinking of the Nazis' they became closer and closer to taking Germany. The last major unique tactic Hitler used to take control of Germany was taking out the opposition. Hitler took out the opposition in very unique ways. To ensure that Hitler became the leader of Germany in the future, while he was chancellor he arrested, tortured, murdered, and harassed all those who opposed his, and his party's beliefs. He did this to Jews, communists, rival politicians (Gogerly 47). Hitler's unique way of taking out the opposition worked very well, and of course strategically using unique tactics helped him gain control of the people, but unique tactics wasn't all that gained him control he also used strategical thinking to strengthen his power and to rule over all of Germany and an attempt for the
This man who was democratically elected turned his country into a military superpower coming out of the great depression. Because of his anger towards the sanctions imposed on Germany after World War I, a war he fought in, he turned his anger along with his country's anger at the economic burdens that the sanctions had put on Germany into a nationalist movement that would lead into World War II and his invasion of Poland, and France. A huge part of the economic failure, Hitler would blame on the jews, saying they financed Germany’s enemies, and because of this he got people to believe it was justified to massacre them. Hitler would follow through with his plan in what became known as the Nazi Final Solution. Although 60 million people would die during World War II, including 6 million jews and 5 million non jews because of the Nazi Final Solution, Hitler would eventually be defeated and Germany would fall into the hands of the next dominant ideologies of the world, Communism and Western Democratic Capitalism. Because of Hitler’s defeat the world would not fall into the hands of fascists like himself and we were able to keep our
After eliminating the previous government, he discovered that he could tap into basic human nature. Human nature, namely herd mentality, can be used as a foundation because of its natural occurrence. (Jowett 42). Humans will always inevitably revert back to their basic nature. Therefore, basing his efforts on such a stable foundation provided him an anchor. Not only that, but he could easily and efficiently persuade a large group of people, knowing that once he had enough support the other citizens would follow suit. In time, societal standards grew to accommodate the new Nazi mindset. Whether people supported these news ideals or not, many lacked the audacity to revolt against the government and demand change (“Causes” 1). Hitler silenced opposing views through societal pressure; people’s need to conform prohibited them from harboring different ideals, which would cause them to stand out. The citizens of Germany were left with the choice to conform or to stand up against the government. Many people ended up conforming, therefore lending Hitler the power and support he needed to further his
During the early 1940's many European, countries and the United States, were recovering from World War I and the depression. Due to the fact that no one initially could or wanted to control Hitler's dictatorial power his extreme racism got out of control and he was able to slaughter millions of Jews. Though eventually Hitler brought destruction upon himself, if other countries would have stopped him in the early stages, World War II may have never happened. Though countries might have wanted to stop Hitler in Germany; they had their own county and people to worry about. The economic troubles prevented England and other European nations from taking part in international issues, and Hitler took full advantage of their weak conditions. This
Explain why you agree or disagree with the view that by the end of the Second World War the US had developed into a superpower.
