From 1973 to 2003 around 1 million abortions have been performed in the U.S alone and after the Roe vs. Wade case was found in favor in Roe which has led to a large controversy over whether or not an abortion kills a person. Today I will not argue over which side is right or wrong, but show you the facts and ethics of an abortion, and leave you the listener to choose whether or not to believe and act upon these truths. First the argument over abortion is not about women's right. Many people associate abortion with women's right but this is not the case. The argument for or against abortion lies in whether or not an abortion murders a person. Now with that context set we must now look to see first whether something is being killed and the answer is yes. Any Biomedical scientist will tell you that a unborn babies cell is different from that of her mother and if an unborn baby were part of her mother the cells of the baby would match that of her mother but it has been scientifically proven as a fact that a unborn baby is composed of entirely different cells than her mother. This meaning that the baby is an entirely different organism. As of today, over 45 million legal abortions have been performed in the United States. Pro-choice advocates hold these 45 million abortions as being 45 million times women have exercised their right to choose to get pregnant and to choose to control their own bodies. To pro-life, or anti-abortion, advocates these 45 million abortions constitute 45 million murders, a genocide of human life in the United States propagated by the court’s ruling in Roe v. Wade. Abortion has been one of the most controversial topics in America for many decades, especially when it became legal in 1973. Abortion is the deliberate termination of a human pregnancy. There are many opinions on this issue, like is it the woman’s choice to terminate the pregnancy? Should abortions only be allowed during the first trimester? Are Plan B pills a form of abortion? There is early abortion, which is when the pregnancy is terminated before the fetus is available, and then there is late-term abortion, which is when an abortion is performed after the second trimester. The most crucial type of abortion, partial-birth abortion, is a form of late-term abortion that ends a pregnancy in which the fetus is removed intact and results in death. Although some people believe abortion is not the best decision to make and that it should be illegal, early abortion is a little better than late-term abortion. All in all, late-term abortion should be banned because it is similar to killing a fully developed child.

The legalization of abortion has become the modern Holocaust of America. The Holocaust in Germany was an effort to terminate the lives of the Jews during the time of 1933 to 1945. The Holocaust is taught in history classes around the world as a tragic killing led by Adolf Hitler. Adolf Hitler justified the killing of Jews by calling them “non-human” while today, the government is calling developing fetuses “non-human”. Consequently, the correlation has risen between the killing of the Jews and the killing of an unborn child inside the mother’s womb. The correlation appears extreme and horrifying to most people without given context. An evangelist, Ray Comfort, witnessed to various strangers on the street beginning with topic of Holocaust. Along with the topic of Holocaust, he leads into the debated topic of abortion and finally shifts into salvation. Through Ray Comfort’s effective use of ethos, pathos, and logos, he is persuasive and compelling in initiating people’s realization of abortion and their own salvation.
