The Darkfall Mountain Pack Character Analysis

Inherit the Wind is a play by Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee that depicts the infamous Scopes Trial. The real names of the persons involved in the case were changed, however, the play recounts the same story. One journalist in the story, E.K. Hornbeck, who is closed-minded, a hypocrite, and very cynical proves that the religious community of Hillsboro is not the only one to be intolerant.

Chris McCandless was a young man who hitched hike to Alaska to explore and survive in the wilderness. Jay Moriarity was a young surfer who was determined to ride Mavericks, the largest waves. Chris's story was heard by a man named Jon Krakauer and Chris's story was developed and published into a novel for the world to hear, which got controversial feedback. Although both seem to come from very different lifestyles and had different pursuits for adventure, both share many qualities such as home life, preparation for goals, and the willingness to let people be there for them.

The pack cannot grow up around humans as a consequence of their parents being ostracized by the local farmers. Similarly, their parents have, themselves, ostracized the local wolves. The pack’s parents are werewolves, or at least a breed of them, and their condition skips a generation making the girls physically humans. Considering that the girls are physically humans, they cannot stay around the other wolves being as they cannot keep up with them. Additionally, the pack does not speak ‘wolf’ or even ‘human,’ but instead a slab-tonged pidgin, inflected with frequent howls. This makes it so that the girls can barely talk and what they can speak is all but completely indecipherable. In Ender’s Game, by Orson Scott Card, when Ender is talented, then the behaviours he receives from others who also want to be smart, will be different. Ender has been treated differently from others due to the fact that he is more intelligent and talented than them. In the biography Into the Wild written by Jon Krakauer, Chris McCandless makes the decision to try and live in the wilderness. With little food, no communication with the outside world, and dangers around every corner McCandless decides to try and survive. Possible character traits that McCandless had that caused him to make this decision are: thrill-seeker, overconfident, or he was just inspired and wanted to live poor instead of wealthy.

Director Wolfgang Petersen filmed The NeverEnding story, the main character Bastian lives a dull life, being teased by school bullies. Bastian is a lot similar to Wade. They both had a hard time while growing up. Through both protagonists are similar in the way they escape the real world, the stories differ significantly in how realistic they are.
