The creation or reinvention of the radar was one of the most important inventions in World War II. ETHW states that a “radar works by sending out radio waves and detecting any reflections from distant objects”. In other words is a way of getting information. This object was placed in airplanes, ships, or submarines to locate their enemies and bombing targets. A great question could be asked, why is this innovation so important? The invention of the radar changed completely the way of how troops attacked their opponents, and made it easier for them to locate an attack made from other parts, not to mention that it could be used from miles away.
The machine gun was probably one the invention that as used the most throughout the war. Now because of the machine gun one man could shoot 500 bullets a minute. The machine gun was used so widely because one machine gun could replace 50 riflemen, this new weapon brought change to the basis infantry tactics. WWI was also the first time trench warfare had ever been used it is through that more than 40,000 kms of trenches were dug through continental Europe. The trenches severed as a front line shelter, supply lines, workshops and living quarters for the soldiers.
These innovations were used for a more advanced warfare. Espionage was very popular, and the hot air balloon expedited the process. “Balloon operators used another wartime innovation, the telegraph, to let commanders on the ground know of Confederates movements.” (PBS “Civil War Innovations”) This made it that much safer to gain information about the opposing side. Another special invention was the submarine. Naval warfare was a changed fight. Many of the techniques that were previously used had to be re-thought. Submarines could surprise attack naval ships. The submarine was developed by Horace Lawson Hunley, James McClintock, and Baxter Watson. These crafts were not very effective, as the ship was the earliest model and had a difficult time firing its “torpedoes” or mines (gilderlehrman.org, The Civil War and early submarine warfare). Often times, it did more damage to itself than it did to the ironclad ships. Ironclad ships were an invention that came from Britain right around war time. There were very few weak points in the ship's hull, and enemy ships had hope that they hit one of the ships vulnerable points(Civil War Trust, Steel, and Steam). This caused strategists huge problems. They had to make precise shots in order to take down an enemy ship. They had to expedite the process to keep up with the ever-changing

This investigation evaluates the development of naval radar technology during the WWII and how the improvements of the radar helped the US to succeed in the war. To see the change throughout the years, the essay will include the radar before the WWII. The time period will during 1900-1945. Radar was researched by the British in the 1930s as a means to track migratory birds using radio waves to bounce off objects back to a receiver. The length of time it takes that radio signal to be sent then received gives you some idea of how far away the object is. It was not a scientific tool as designed, but the Royal Air Force saw it might be able to be used to locate aircraft - they formed a committee to investigate that, and RDF (radio detection finding) was born which was later abbreviated to radar.
Vehicles where the biggest advancement in technology in the war. It has made transportation of materials, people, and just general things easier for us. During world war I and in World War II, periscopes were used to seeing from hidden places, and were used in many vehicles and have still been used today for the Sea, and land. Light Is used to make a periscope work by “A Prism is used in a periscope to bend and reflect light. Simple prism-based periscopes use two triangular prisms to produce an Image of something that the viewer would not otherwise be able to see. A “periscope Is a tool to see what’s happening without being seen, and Is used to observe and watch, also spy, as From World War I, and also to world War II and to today.” If two *telescopes have different have different individual magnification, the difference between them causes an overall magnification or reduction.
No such war was so strongly affected by math and science then WWII. The earliest technological advancements created during world war II was by the Nazi’s and there study of rockets and rocketry. They created the V-1 rocket which is a predecessor to the modern day cruise missile. As well as the V-2 missile which is like a modern day ballistic missile that flies into space and drops onto the enemy(Digital History).
