All the sources discussed in this paper are mainly focused on the importance of the death penalty, the history of the death penalty, and cases involving it. Throughout the entries there is a great amount of controversies. Cases against the death penalty were because of the lethal injection used, the belief of tribes, and the positions of abolishers. The books discussed where informational to reader that didn’t know the reasons behind capital punishment. Incorporating papers that supported capital punishment helped support the position paper assigned previously. The different cases are describing the reason for the death penalty, which help people understand why the death penalty is needed.
Crimes happen to innocent people every day and to survive justice to the victims is if the person who committed the crime is away in jail or sentenced to death. If the death penalty was rightfully just, then individuals would support it. Some people live by religions or beliefs that may contribute to their positions on this topic as well. While there are those who believe that the death penalty does not serve its intended purpose, proponents of the same are convinced that the relevance of the same cannot be overstated and hence it should not be abolished. In this text, I examine the arguments for and against the death penalty.
Capital punishment is beneficial to the community. It provides the society with a sense of security. The death penalty contains a positive influence on the future. A heavily debated topic is, “Does capital punishment deter people more than a life sentence to prison?” An explanation on why will be covered later. An issues many people have with capital punishment, is when it is just or not just. This is a topic many stray away from, because it is difficult to decide. Finding the right consequence for an action is difficult. While this paper is for the use of capital punishment, it is clearly not needed for every crime, or even every murder. Overusing capital punishment, such as using it for every murder, will negatively impact the country, and not using it has the same effect.
This paper sought to explore the history of varied traditional and recent methods of capital punishment. Topics like how they came into existence, how they work, what alterations have they gone through and why will be discussed in this research. It will attempt to understand the efforts made to improve and bring in new methods. While considering the many botched executions that have taken place, it looks like the traditional methods may not after all be so effective. However, after years of research quite a few improvisations have come into effect. Though these are not totally new methods, they do serve the purpose of effective, less painful executions.
