1. What makes a good role model and how can I ensure that I act as a role model for employees I supervise?

Who's a good role model though? Well there's many things good, well, great role model can do. It's someone who you look up to, that person, could be anyone. Some of the traits good role models have is who's brave, strong, works hard, helps people out, there's a ton of things. (Price-Mitchell)

Almost everyone has someone they look up to. A person who inspires you in any way, shape or form. People that fulfill this role are very important, and can really define who you become. These people are called role models, and over the course of history there have been many. Religous figures like Jesus Christ, presidents like Abraham Lincoln and protestors like Martin Luther King Jr. have always been great inspirations.

There’s one famous person that comes to mind who represents myself as a good role model and that person is Jim Carrey. He played in one movie, which is called Liar Liar, and to this day the movie has always held a strong meaning to me. The movies he has played in has always brought me joy and laughter. Jim has throughout the years stood up for many causes and is an avid supporter of charities. These are the reasons why I look up to Jim Carrey as a role model.

Role models are individuals that set upon a good example. You went above that, threw your own life in a ditch just to save those who cannot possibly think twice of what they do. The unthinking ways of a teenager can lead to a torn family, or an illegal issue. If only we payed more attention to the ones who stand so much taller than us. We could learn to stand just as tall, or even taller.

Everyone has at least one role model; others may have more than one. Do you have a role model that you look up to? Leonardo Da Vinci is my role model. He’s known for being many things such as a painter, inventor, geologist, and much more. Who said that you’re role model has to be alive? If someone inspires you to become them, you should choose that person.

Fortunately the qualities that make a good role model include being able to admit flaws and mistakes. This does not mean that the role model will dwell on these, rather they would be able to overcome them and accept them as part of what makes them who they are. Perhaps one is bad at sports yet they still join a company sponsored sport team that benefits a cause or charity. Overcoming obstacles or difficulties with dignity and poise or with the ability to laugh it off sets the tone that it is okay to fail, it is what is done after that makes the difference. Doing things that are beyond their expertise and comfort level is what makes one grow as a person and learn to develop strengths which they never knew they had.

Most people would say that in order to be considered a good role model, you first need to be considered a good person. A good person is typically a person who has empathy for others, tries their best to make good decisions, and follows the law. After reading this description, of what a good person is, celebrities would not typically be the first group of people that would pop into your head because of their bad reputations, but that doesn't mean that all public figures are known for their bad choices. Celebrities should be famous for their talents and skills in some sort of field, or they could just have a great life story and have done great things in their life which inspired people to do the same. After all, everyday people run red lights all the time and no one would ever know, but the moment a celebrity gets one traffic ticket, it will be instantly posted all over every single magazine and news station. Public figures should be considered role models because, many public figures can serve as inspiration to do great things and a great example of what can happen if you make bad decisions.

From the moment babies are able to walk they are influenced by older people in the world. Kids look up to people because there hair, sport ablitity,clothes,people skills. Having a good postive role model in children and young adults to being a parent. Stephen curry is my role model because he is a outstanding althlete , an sublime teammate, and is a high awarded basketball player.

John Quincy Adams once said, "If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader." This quote causes me to believe that a leader is not necessarily a director, they can be simply a person that is inspiring to be around. Some people may not even know that they are considered as leaders. I do know that I am considered as a role model by my peers. Being considered as a role model is an honor, that takes hard work, and a lot of patience. I achieved this honor by having the character and nature of a servant. The impacts that I have made with my character in school, at work, and in my community will enable me to be able to make a difference in college and beyond.

I had two role models while I was growing up. They were God and my dad. Those role models never changed. These role models caught me everything that I ever needed to know. My parents affected my gender. My mother was always sick while growing up. My dad was very strong, and driven. He knew what he needed to get

Have you ever looked up to somebody and wanted to be just like them when you were young? I think we all have admired someone who just weren’t the best of role models, but back then we just didn’t know why. So, when we think about celebrities being role models, we immediately think about singers and actors. Well, not all celebrities who give out to the community and are exceptionally good role models to your kids can sing or act. Celebrities most often give back to our community by donating money to arts, mental illness campaigns, educational foundations, etc… Which means that it teaches the youth to be generous towards others. Therefore, celebrities are indeed role models because they set up an example of a good lifestyle, they promote a positive self-image, celebrities can also have a positive

Role models influence us as humans. We use our parents, community leaders, and even celebrities to shape ourselves in a similar way to them. Media, like a role model, influences society. Also, media, which society creates, is also the tool that shapes and moulds it. The theory that media (technology) shapes society – technological determinism – is introduced by Canadian scholars Harold Innis and Marshall. Though this is a technologically determinist way of looking at communication, the different modes of communication (media) – oral, literate, and electronic –influence society through the way we store knowledge, through the manner in which we share knowledge, and through the way we connect with each other socially.

Due to our social media devices being connected with so much around the world, the youth have become quite persuadable on what is right and what is wrong; increasing the suspicion on whether these public figures should be considered role model material or not. Though public figures can be role models, not all of them should be because they might be but that doesn’t mean all public figures can’t be role models. Public figures have the ability to inspire others by showing their determination when times get tough and by showing their passion for their work, which motivates others to have the same mindset as them. Some people believe public figures should not be considered role models due to some of them doing immature and irresponsible off of the screen. Public figures should be considered role models because they are capable of displaying how to act properly in society and that it is possible to persevere through tough obstacles in life.

The person who I consider to be the biggest role model in my life is my father. My father has been a role model for me ever since I was young, he was the one to show me that if I wanted to succeed then I had to do so with my own knowledge and with my own capabilities. He was never the person to shield me from the realities of the world, but at the same time he helped me to understand what was happening and how these world problems could potentially affect me. He was the one to show me that life will continue to happen whether or not I was prepared to do so. My father conveyed to me the importance of searching for opportunities instead of letting them come to me because life does not work that way. Life is not just going to provide me with help if I do not give an honest attempt to produce results myself. As a child I looked up to my father, especially since growing up I was the oldest child of the family. I did not have an older sibling to look up to and to learn from like my younger siblings which is what made it possible for me to look up to my father. A main reason that I had for looking up to my father was due to his strong commitment to go heritage and culture. The fact that my father came to this country as an immigrant from mexico and he came to this country without anything. No knowledge of the country and its language, just the basic necessities of life which was some clothes and money, amazed me.
