In Arthur Miller's The Crucible, the story was based off of real people and events to create Arthur Miller's play. Like the characters from the play, they shared the traits of being hard working, god-fearing individuals and even shared their temperaments, like Giles Corey. In the play, Giles Corey is an elderly man who has recently converted to Christianity in the town of Salem, Massachusetts. He has a wife, Martha Corey, and sons who remained anonymous throughout the play. Like any other Puritan in Salem (which is now Danvers), he worked hard to make a living.
