The Beatles
Perhaps the most celebrated and most known musical group ever known "The Beatles" changed the way the world viewed rock music for generations to come. Comprised of four members; John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr, "The Beatles" rose to stardom in England. With hits such as "Love me do" The Beatles quickly grew a fan base in the United Kingdom. By the mid-1960s the Beatles were taking the world by storm and leading the British invasion of the United States ' music industry. Till this day the Beatles ' music is still being played around the world today.

Following the name of "Johnny and the moon dogs" was the label of the “Nerk twins". After using the name of the "Nerk twins" for short amount of time, Lennon labeled them "The Beatals". Wanting an insect theme, the band adopted several other names after "The Beatals", such as "The Silver Beatles" and "The Silver Beats". At last, after going through a dozen names, the band settled on "The Beatles" as their official title.
Although the musical group finally decided on what to call themselves, they still were waiting for their big break. Their big break came in the form of a man notice Brian Epstein, a record storeowner. Epstein’s interest was piqued when he heard about a young band making its way through Liverpool. So Epstein decided to go watch "The Beatles" perform. Something about the Beatles energy when they play inspired Epstein to become their manager. Pulling a few strings throughout the musical community of Liverpool, Epstein was able to gain "The Beatles" a few auditions. After a few auditions, the Beatles were able to get an audition with George Martin, a respected member of Parlophone records. The only part that Martin didn 't like about the Beatles was the drummer, Pete Best. Before a record could be signed Epstein had to replace Best. The new drummer was known as Ringo Starr. At last, "The Beatles" we 're complete.

The Beatles were more than their music. They influenced the lives of millions of people unlike any musicians before them. They were the first and most popular band in one of the most important music movements in American history, the British Invasion. The year 1964 was the year both the British Invasion and “Beatlemania” came to America and forever changed the landscape of music in the United States by introducing the genre of pop, as it is today. This is what began fostering the unique sound of The Beatles. So many different genres of music and a breadth of diverse artists inspired them, and consequently their sound became something entirely new. This is how The Beatles began to mold a new image of music, by taking all of the inspirations and melding it to become the epitome of their creativity. By using the Rock and Roll style of Elvis and combining it with other kinds of music they heard they started creating some of the most unique music at the time. They were also making unique music because essentially they were breaking all the rules because they didn’t know any of them. They didn’t have to follow the guidelines of the instruments that they were playing because they had no formal or professional training to teach them how to play. So instead of confining themselves in the wall of their own training they were able to broaden their horizons and break rules. However, this unique sound alone didn’t get them to the top, after Liverpool we shift our focus towards Hamburg, where the band perfected and fine-tuned their art, and acquired a strong stage presence.
Yet the younger generation of the twenty first century might ask why it was that they were so popular? Well there are many reasons why they were so popular. First of all, even before the Beatles had set foot in the U.S, Americans already held a fascination with British things. It was also helpful that when the Beatles first arrived in the U.S, they had the backing of a major american record label. In addition, the Beatles were an approachable group of young man with a sharp wit, who merely seemed to be having a good time. They each held distinctive personalities, being talented instrumentalists, singers, and songwriters, people became fans of individual members of the band as well as the entire band itself. Not only were they great musicians, they wrote and composed each of their songs. The band proved to be popular and exciting causing mass hysteria at each of their public performances. The label’s executive, Dick Rowe, brushed them off like they were nothing. He simply stated that “guitar groups are on the way out.” Little did Rowe know, The Beatles would soon conquer modern society and alter the course of pop and rock music. There have been no other entertainers in the history of music that has been so popular, influential, or as groundbreaking as The Beatles. In the early 1960’s, their popularity was often called “Beatlemania,” as thousands of screaming fans would crowd their concerts and sing-along with the Fab Four. Everyone, Americans and Europeans alike, have heard-of, if not grown off of, a generation and culture started by an ensemble of four shaggy-haired Liverpool musicians that the world went mad over; no one can deny that no greater event impacted today's pop culture than "Beatlemania".
