The first weakness is some of the actions that is in the book is not really truthful. For example, in chapter 10, Violet just used a simple invention and climbed up to the tall tower, the most difficult part is to hook to the tower, and I think the hook is not strong enough to carry a person. The second weakness is the story may not fit the readers that are above 25 years old because the book is too easy for them, they might feel boring when they are reading this book. In this book, everything seems perfect, however, I believe the book still have some parts that did not work really well in the book. For example, the way that Count Olaf escape is like action movie’s segment, I think it does not suit this book. The book could be done better at make the story more realistic because even though the story is not real, but the main idea of the novel is not science fiction or action fiction. Next, the novel did not explain some details such as why Count Olaf’s house has many eye drawing and why Count Olaf’s ankle have an eye
One flaw was that I could predict what was going to happen throughout the book. Once one thing happened I knew what was going to happen consequently. Another flaw in my opinion was the ending of the book, it doesn’t bring the book to a close. It’s a cliffhanger at the end of a book with no sequel. The other flaw of this book is the lack of feeling connected with the characters, even though every chapter in the book was told from the perspective of either Denn, Cattie, or Jimbo. I just didn’t feel connected with any of the characters. This book is for people who like to read and enjoy poker. I think that liking to read and enjoying poker are needed in order to read this book and enjoy it. So if you love to read and enjoy poker this book is for you. If you choose to read this book I hope you enjoy it. Thank you for
I thought that this book had many strength and weakness. The strengths of this book are that it has conflict and enmity. I also think it has a lot of symbols in it. Some of the weakness I think are that it kind of strings you along and I think there needed to be some more action in this novel to make it a little bit more interesting. It depends who the person I would recommend this book to. I think that you half to like this kinds of books to read them. If it was someone who loved action and stuff going on at all time I would not recommend
Here the author talks about couple of kids who belong to different social class and race. She mainly focuses on how economical condition affects parenting. Although most of the parents want the best from their kids but indeed they have to balance between their work and financial situation and tune it with their parenting style.
With the play Baby in the bathwater by Christopher Durang, you can find within the story the dark humor of some very serious situations. The author uses it to bring a little fun and light to the life of Daisy and her parents. It has twisted situations at goes throughout the whole play from calling the baby a baked potato to the dog eating the baby. I can honestly say I would love to meet the person who wrote this just to get into his mind of what he was thinking at the time.
The weaknesses of the story are just too long. It was too broad, and it will make you boring on some pages. It makes you upset because there’s a twist and some words that they used is hard to understand. Even though there are weaknesses of the story, it will make you be a critical thinker. For the example, on how’s her parents could be find. It is exciting because your expected will not be the same as you expect at the last part of the story. Although it is a true story, there is a doubt that can possibly form in your mind because for me, some details are not possible. But all in all, it is beautiful to have read.
MU 2.9 1.1 Explain why working in partnership with others is important for children and young people
One morning Uncle Monty gave a note to the children consist of having new assistant name “Stephano”. To the children it signalled the arrival of Stephano as beginning of more misery. The three children looked at Uncle Monty’s new assistant from head to toe and saw that he was none other than Count Olaf (the villain of the story) The Baudelaire orphans realized that Stephano was actually Count Olaf They were filled with regret that they should not have call out the driver. We as Americans are extremely lucky. We live in a big country with many resources and almost all the luxuries we ever wanted. On the flip side, in America there are also many people who do not have these privileges. The lower class is a struggling class. For many years, people have been trying to pull themselves up from the lower class and the majority does not succeed. Childhood poverty is a large problem in the U.S. It is said that the poorest people in the United States are the children of the lower class. Childhood poverty could lead to a number of problems such as hunger, violence, physical and mental disabilities, educational problems, homelessness, family stress, sickness, and too-early parenthood. The sad truth is that
"A&P", written by John Updike, is based on a moment in the life of a cashier. He was known as Sammy and he referred to his position in the grocery store as a slot checker. Sammy spent his time watching and wondering about customers. One day, while working, three girls dressed in bikinis entered the store and attracted his attention. He describes the three girls movements and watches them as they roam throughout the store. Eventually, the girls work their way to Sammy's cashier station to purchase the item which they have selected. Then Lengel, the manager of the store, enters and embarrasses the girls for their attire. As a result, Sammy quits his job at the A&P. This short story is an example of an
How does it feel to be adopted? Has life been altered as a result of being adopted? These questions have never fazed my view of being adopted. Awareness of being adopted began as far back as I can recall and has never been a taboo family topic. Adoption didn’t affect my life in any sort of way as a child. As I matured, the realization of the impact being adopted has had on my life has evolved. This insight created a new level of gratitude for my family and my life.
There are common ordeals and situations that can trouble a family emotionally, physically, and psychologically. Adoption is one situation a family must encounter when a child is born without a proper system of support to sustain life after birth. The causes for a family to make a heartfelt decision to place a child for adoption can have dramatic effects on the birth parents, adoptive parents, and child (Adoptee), even if the decision is meant for the best.
As early as kids join school, negligence is a very repetitive mistake made my parents. The topic of Latchkey Children, which are the children who return to empty houses after school and whom are left alone until parents arrive from work, is very delicate because it raises the risks of danger to the child. Not only is the child not equipped with the means to survive on his own, but also the risks of education as there is no reinforcer or anything to make sure the child applies himself to his schoolwork. As the Latchkey Child is left unattended they could spend extensive hours watching tv and not getting enough help with their homework, which would later motivate them to not do the homework at all. Luckily, there are solutions to these problems.
Lyn Fry studied Oxana with day to day human interaction and how she processed new information in a socialised environment. ‘She doesn’t have the social or personal skills. She has had boyfriends but she doesn’t have the ability to form a long-term relationship or to understand give and take. She would rather fall out then compromise. She is a very vulnerable person and there is no protection outside that institution’ Lyn Fry reported.
Let children be children, is not only a popular phrase heard in education, but it is also my motto. Yes, it is true, today’s children are tomorrow’s future; but how we choose to raise our children determines the outcome of our future. Many believe academics should be stressed more in schools, taking away from children’s playtime. I feel that play is what molds a child. Play allows not only a child’s imagination to run freely, but builds and strengthens children’s motor, language, cognitive, and social emotional development skills. I believe that play; along with parental involvement forms a child’s identity. Play is what makes children: tomorrow’s future.
Child welfare is one of the most important sociological topics today. It is a concept that is used to describe the combination of efforts and services that are designed with the primary objective of maintaining and promoting the safety as well as the wellbeing of children and ensuring that families have the necessary support they need to ensure that their children have been successfully cared for. In essence, child welfare is social work that is focused on the welfare of children (Keddell, 2014). Child welfare is a broad topic that involves, among others, child protection from abuse, support for families to effectively care for their children, investigation of child maltreatments and neglect, and support for children in
