The short film American Male shows how the male protagonist was being influenced by the society’s definition of a man. The film starts with the voice over, “Order beer. Not wine. And beef, not chicken. Never light beer, though. And tofu. Can’t get more gay than tofu,” which clearly reveals the strong image of the protagonist, and continues with how the man hangs out with his fraternity brothers, how he works out, and how he tries his best to look cool. In the hazing scene, one of the newbies accidentally bumped into him when he stood up which resulted to a humiliating scene for the protagonist. In the end, the protagonist started hitting his buttocks as hard and many times as he can and repeatedly screamed the word “faggot” until his fraternity brothers held him back and stop …show more content…
