The war in Afghanistan is well known for all the destruction it’s caused in the Middle East. Two things well known for the destruction is the attacks on the world trade center, and catching Osama Bin Laden. It all started September 11th, 2001 when Afghanistan attacked America. These attacks are by far the worst terrorist attack on American soil. These attacks will never be forgotten. The first attacks on the world trade center were not the 9/11 attacks. In fact, the first attack was on February 26th, 1993. When a few terrorists put large explosives under the world trade center. The terrorists were attempting to bring down the world trade center but it didn’t. There were six deaths and over 1,000 injured. They had traced the van to a few people who attended a mosque in Brooklyn. Later the leader of the attacks, Ramzi Yousef, sent a message to the New York Time saying that the attack was retaliation for Americans support of Israel, then fled to Pakistan. Ramzi Yousef appeared again in the Philippians and had an apartment that he was making explosives in. He made a bomb that he took onto an airplane. He placed it in the airplane and had a timer on it and it exploded. The explosive killed one person and injured ten. Afterward Ramzi decided he wanted to make more attacks on the U.S. He later was making more explosives in his apartment with a friend. An accident happened while mixing chemicals and a fire started. Ramzi managed to escape somewhere in the Philippians, but
In the book Speak, Melinda was very popular, and happy with her life, until Andy Evans raped her. This traumatic experience changed her forever, and she became mute. In the book speak it explains Melinda’s struggle with herself as she goes threw her years in high school. One example of this is on page 132, when Melinda has self talk with herself. “I think it’s some kind of psychiatric disorder when you have more than one personality in your head. That’s what it feels like when I walk home.” (132 Anderson) This quote shows Melinda’s struggle with herself, and how she never can make up her mind. One experience like rape in Melinda’s case can change you forever and make you suicidal.
On September 11, 2001, nineteen militants associated with the Islamic extremist group Al-Qaeda hijacked four airliners and carried out suicide attacks in the United States. Two planes were flown into the towers of the World Trade Centre in New York City. A third plane hit the Pentagon just outside Washington D.C., and the fourth plane crashed in a field in Pennsylvania. Often referred to as 9/11, the attack resulted in extensive death and destruction. This triggered the major U.S. initiatives to combat terrorism and defining the presidency of George W. Bush. Over three thousand people were killed during the attacks in New York City and Washington D.C., including more than four hundred
9/11 was a disaster , and today i’m seeing which news media did better at that time. The two media resources that I chose are the CNN news channel and the history channel. The setting was september 11th 2001 therefore the name 9/11, but besides that it was the world trade centers of New York where two planes crashed into it resulting a little bit under 3,000 casualties which killed police officers, firefighters and civilians. The new media sites I use were around at the time of the terrorist attack of the twin towers and pentagon in 2001.
The 9/11 attacks opened the avenue for a scrutiny of the performance and ability of the intelligence community to detect any threats to the safety of the United States. The media, politicians, reformists and other interested parties would not comprehend how such an attack would happen without the knowledge of the intelligence community. However, it is important to consider the fact that the attack was one of its kind and could not be approached with the resources and expertise used in other initiative such as the cold war. Therefore, the need to restructure the intelligence community arose from the view that it was still operating in the mindset and spirit of the cold war even in the modern era that had seen a revolutionary change of warfare
On September 11, 2001, al-Qaeda, a terrorist group, hijacked four airplanes, bringing down the World Trade Center and nearly destroying the Pentagon. The attacks killed 2,977 people and started a global war on terrorism (9/11 Attacks). Since Afghanistan was training terrorist groups, our military sent soldiers over to the Middle East to help slow down the assaults on our country. The attacks on the World Trade Center affected the lives of many Americans and changed the way people see the world today, especially my cousin, Master at Arms (MAA), Robert Dempewolf.
The 9 / 11 attack on the world trade center proves to be one of the most documents events in history. The actual footage caught on the cameras can bring a person to tears. Four airplanes were hijacked and two of the planes were crashed in each building causing them both to collapse. Each plane was carrying ten thousand gallons of jet fuel. Most of the acknowledgements I have seen growing up focus on mainly the people who were inside the building at the time of the collapse. Family and friends being called by love ones who knew they were not going to make it out the building alive. The graphic footage of watching people jump out the windows, so they would not burn to death by the two thousand degree flames pulls tremendously
The terror attack on September 11th 2001 is the most comprehensive terror attack in the U.S history, both in terms of material damage and number of death falls. There were four terrorist attacks by an Islamic terrorist group in the morning on September 11th. They hijacked four passenger airlines and carried out suicide attacks against targets in the U.S. Two planes crashed in the World Trade Center in New York, one in the Pentagon and one in Pennsylvania.
Did you know that the 9/11 terrorist attack was the deadliest attack on American soil in United States history? On September 11, 2001, nineteen people from the Islamic extremist group al - Qaeda, hijacked four airplanes. Two of the airplanes were flown into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in New York City. One plane circled over Washington D.C. before hitting the west side of the Pentagon. The last plane landed in a field in Pennsylvania, after is was brought down by the passengers, but the destination was not known. A total of two thousand, nine hundred and ninety-nine people were killed during the 9/11 terrorist attacks (History.com Staff.).
The attacks of 9/11 affected the United States by increasing discrimination, endangering the health of many Americans, hurting the economy and changing foreign and security policies.
The terrorist attacks of September 11, altered American 's perceptions of the role in the world by strongly supporting the increased spending on national security and counterterrorism. Also, Americans have become more aware of how and where to engage in the world. As a result of the attacks, the US now has a defense that totals to nearly half the global total and has military dominance over scene, air, and space. The US also has the capability to dispatch massive military power anywhere in the world making them the system shaper. You may ask yourself just have a bad or do you check on September 11, 2001 was that led to this chaos and security becoming abnormally tight you may ask yourself just have a bad do you check on September 11, 2001
The attack on the World Trade Center in New York City on September 11, 2001, had negative health consequences beyond the staggering loss of life. The James L. Zadroga 9/11 Health & Compensation Act, signed into law by President Obama in 2010, established the World Trade Center Health Program that ensured those affected by 9/11 received monitoring and treatment services for 9/11 related health problems up until 2011 and reopened the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund of 2001 to new applicants. The act was renewed in 2015 which included the reauthorization of the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund, and over 72,000 responders and survivors are allowed to get medical monitoring, treatment, and compensation for their injuries. However, while federally-funded health care and medical monitoring for injured and ill 9/11 responders and survivors has been made permenant, the compensation program will expire in 2020 even while expecting thousands more cancer cases from exposure to 9/11 toxins in the coming years. The September 11th Victim Compensation Fund has to be renewed to continue to honor the injured and ill responders, survivors and their families for their heroic act and how their health is being punished for it.
The attacks of 9/11 was an act of terrorism that happened in New York. Two airplanes crashed into the World Trade Center in New York, one into the Pentagon in Virginia, and another one crashed into a field in Pennsylvania intended to strike in Washington D.C. Three thousand civilian lives were lost that day. It was said by Al-Qaeda group, Osama Bin Laden that the purpose of 9/11 terror was to take revenge for the United States. The typical morning which turned out the historical tragedy terror in the world, created victims by the terror, that have disturbed the peace everyone in the world. It was the start of revenge from United States to Al-Qaeda.
The attack on the World Trade Center was not the first attack and was not the first time the US Intelligence Community had heard of Al-Qaeda or Osama Bin Laden. The role of counterintelligence from both sides the US and Al-Qaeda, lent to the information flow not only form the attackers but also to the ones who would ultimately respond. The FBI, the CIA, the DIA, have integral parts in these series of events from the information collection to the information flow. In a time where it was realized that Counterintelligence and Counterterrorism have a similar need, as well as information sharing across agencies, have led to the CI and IC we see today.
On September 11, 2001, four planes were hijacked by 19 Arab Islamist extremists and used as weapons of mass destruction. The first plane was flown into the North Tower at the World Trade Center in Lower Manhattan at 8:46AM. The people inside the South Tower were told to remain in the building and that they had nothing to worry about, a decision proven to be a bad one when a second plane hit the South Tower at 9:03AM. Both buildings collapsed no more than 90 minutes after the crash with more than 2,600 people dying that day. At 9:37AM, a third plane hit the Pentagon, killing 125 people and at 10:03 the fourth plane crashed into a field in Southern Pennsylvania, killing 256 people. The fourth plane was originally targeting the White House but its course was interrupted by brave passengers who fought against the hijackers to the best of their abilities.
The book of Jobs begins as it introduces the main character of this book, Job. Job is a righteous man who obeys God and stays away from the evil. This blameless man is also the richest in the land of Uz who owns lots of animals and servants. In the heavenly court, God talks about how good Job is, but Satan asserts that Job’s fear of God is based on his prosperity; therefore Job will curse God when everything is taken away.
