Every president has been trying to introduce different healthcare reforms to congress but many have not seemed to work. Health is very important, when one thinks about it, health is on par with education on the priority list because both of this factor into economic development. Primary care in the United States has been in a state of neglect or of being underfunded for a long time. This dysfunctional state has been allowed to occur despite evidence, which shows the importance of primary care in creating healthy outcomes and controlling costs. The Affordable Care Act (ACA) tries to address some of these issues by:
The Affordable Care Act is one of the new policy that provides Americans with better health security by putting in place comprehensive health insurance reforms. It allows people to have expand coverage. Now a child can stay under his parents insurance until age 26. The ACA holds insurance responsible by dropping health care while guarantees more choices and enhance the quality of care. The ACA facilitates long-term care services to help people whom such care need receive it and to find ways to help make such care available not only in organizations but also in the public. They try to eliminate non-discrimination language that will restrict health insurance companies from discriminating against any health care provider. The ACA includes policies
The Affordable Care Act, also known as ACA or ObamaCare, is one of the largest and most polarizing cultural change efforts in recent history. While the ACA impacts all Americans in some way, many of the details surrounding the law itself are still being challenged or under review in some capacity. The Affordable Care Act includes many complex issues and moving parts but the failed initial launch of the online healthcare marketplace by the Obama Administration, in partnership with various agencies and external contractors, is an excellent of example of what can go wrong when trying to make sweeping change efforts.
The Affordable Care Act, also called Healthcare Reform, or Obamacare, is a decision that Obama administration was planning for long time to fix some problems. Many people live in this country without health insurance, and they can’t go to hospital when they become sick. Book (n page) wrote that 40 million of Americans were either permanently or occasionally without health insurance. The ACA was signed by President Obama on March 23, 2010 and became law. The idea of the President Obama is to make more people have insurance, control healthcare costs, and to make the healthcare delivery system better. Six years after Americans start ACA, many people like it, and some people don’t like it. However, the effects of this reform on the healthcare workforce are not always positive, because people who work in the medical field will now have more people to take care of. People say for long time ago that they need more staff in the hospital. Now, it is more because more people who don’t have insurance before, have it now and they go to the clinics or hospitals. The shortage of healthcare professionals, their maldistribution in the country, stress from the more new patient, the more paperwork, the penalty to reduce reimbursement, a change of reward, and the staff anger, are some problems created by the ACA on healthcare workers.
The Affordable Care Act was implemented in March 2010 states several new requirements that not for profit hospitals organizations must meet to be compliant for tax exemption. The Internal Revenue Service developed new forms and guides to help implement the new section of Affordable Care Act. The requirements are listed under the Internal Revenue Code (IRC) Section 501(C)(3). This section affects not for profit organizations that operate one or more hospital organization and states four requirements that the organizations must meet at each facility they operate. The four requirements stated by the Internal Revenue Services (IRS) under the ACA are the following;
The Affordable care act (ACA), all so known as Obamacare, was signed into law on March 23, 2010. The ACA said that every taxpayer must have health insurance, if they have not enrolled by the deadline they will face a penalty of having to pay for not having health insurance. People were told that with the ACA that health insurance would be more affordable and for some it did but for others it changed what they already had and they can no longer afford to have insurance. Ilyma Somin wrote that because of the Commerce, Tax and the Necessary and Proper Clause because basically they say that ACA offers economic effects in some way or another (Somin, 2012).
The highest court in all of America is the Supreme Court. They decide and uphold
The Affordable Care Act, also known as the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, or Obamacare, was put into law by President Barack Obama on March 23, 2010. The focus of the Act is a health care law geared towards improving the health care system of the United States by broadening medical coverage to more Americans, as well as protecting the existing health insurance policy holders.
The Affordable Care Act established by Barack Obama it is a revolutionary law that was passed to change the healthcare system in America. The affordable care act has many pro and cons. Is the Affordable care a good idea? The Affordable care act was put in place to help maintain healthcare spending cost, reduce the amount of people who are uninsured, create universal healthcare, expanding coverage for young adults and to make prescription drug coverage more affordable for seniors. In the year of 2010 and 2011 over 5.1 million seniors and people with disabilities on Medicare have saved over 3.1 billion on prescription drugs, however this includes a one-time rebate
According to Jayne O’Donnell, since January 2010, more than 40 rural community hospitals have closed their doors. In addition, O’Donnell points out that,
Health care reform is referring to the changes in health care policies. This reform is driven by the high cost of health care and the right to health care. Health care is focusing on exploring and applying the Affordable Care Act. The Affordable Care Act addresses delivery issues within the current health care system and is working to improve them. Research is important in the Affordable Care Act in order to help individuals make informed health care decisions. Health care reform can affect the nursing practices at the bedside, influence advanced primary care nurses and their bill of service, and move nursing towards a new direction with the new health care system in the United States.
The Affordable Care Act was passed by Congress and then signed into law by President Obama on March 23, 2010. The law was enacted in two parts: The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act was signed into law on March 23, 2010 and was amended by the Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act on March 30, 2010. The name “Affordable Care Act” is used to refer to the final, amended version of the law. The Act provided Americans with better health security by expanding coverage, held insurance companies accountable, lowered health care costs, guaranteed more choices and enhanced the care for all Americans (Medicaid.gov). Health insurance market places allowed shoppers to compare health plan that counted as minimum essential coverage.
The Affordable Care Act was signed into law in 2010, just over five years ago. Since then the healthcare industry, and even organizations outside the industry, have been affected in many ways; from new reimbursement models, opening healthcare exchanges, millions of individuals gaining insurance that they previously did not have, and a plethora of new regulations just to name a few. Although the law was passed in 2010, it wasn’t until 2014 that millions of newly insured participants entered into the system when much of the affects were initially recognized. However, even with two enrollment periods under our belt, a new enrollment period set to begin in a month, along with additional regulations still to be fully recognized, how the
Universal Healthcare in the United States has been a long time journey that dates back decades and we, as a country, are far behind other developed countries who have had universal healthcare for a long time. Today, Healthcare is obtained through employers or by people paying for it by themselves, which is incredibly expensive due to high premiums. Five years have passed since the controversial Obama care, or Affordable Care Act, was signed into law on March 23, 2010. The Affordable Care Act aimed at fixing the many problems that the United States has with healthcare by making it available to everyone, but also more efficient and this required drastic changes that made some people happy while others unhappy since some are benefiting while others are not. These people include politicians, but foremost presidential candidates. Candidate’s stance on the issue of healthcare is truly important due to the fact that if they’re the next president of the United States, it could hurt or improve the health care reform. Noteworthy candidates are: Jeb Bush, Hillary Clinton, Marco Rubio, and Bernie Sanders. Republicans and Democrats have long debated whether or not the Affordable Care Act should be repealed or replaced. Republicans believe that it is a problem while Democrats support it. The Affordable Care Act should not be replaced but instead improved because it provides quality and affordable health care to Americans. Everyone gets sick and people shouldn’t be afraid of receiving help
Some states have accepted the terms of the program including all of its expansion on the health care system, but some have been reluctant to implement the program. One of those reluctant states has been Florida, which is apparent by multiple court cases that has come since its inception (1). With Florida’s House of Representative consisting of a majority of Republicans, the conservatives of the state have fought the incorporation of the bill (2). With legislative bodies in opposition of the terms of the Affordable Care Act, it begs to question how policy makers have approached the issue of healthcare. My research question was in what ways the Affordable Health Care Act has affected healthcare in Florida, and how effective has it been in
