The Scholastic article says, “94% of teens who have a smart phone use it daily.” This quote shows that if we do bring in other devices that it would more likely be easier to use them because teens use their phones so much. The quote also supports that it would less likely happen of someone breaking the devices because so much people would know how to use the devices. Studies shows that if a student has access to a smartphone, they will most likely use it for distracting purposes, rather than to actually learn. In the article “Smartphones Do Not Benefit Classroom Learning,” the author states, “Cell phones may be conduits for information, but they're also tools of mass distraction. Texting, tweeting, surfing and updating your online profile have nothing to do with learning and no place in the classroom. Yet it's even become commonplace for parents to text their children during school hours.” This ties back in to the idea of addiction. Students are addicted, and they must get their fix even during class. Throughout most of high school, and college, I would use my phone to send text messages or update my Twitter. I even knew that I should be paying attention; however, I placed my smartphone above my education. Thankfully, I am smart enough to dig myself out of any bad grades; however, not all students are. If schools can find a way to force students to use their smartphones for educational purposes only, they can certainly increase the education rate. It is evident that students love smartphones. No matter why they use them, they are constantly on them. Many of the early cell phone were considered to be car phones. There were no cell phones back then well there was but they was not like the ones people like to use. The cell phones that people had to use were really old and they were called back phones. The back phones was really confusing to work and no one could text or do any thing the only thing the cell phone could do was make calls. The phones that people really love to use touch screen phones because the is so much social media. The popular phone is gonna be the new i phone and the newest one is the i phone x and you will not believe how much it costs, it costs one thousand dollars. That is way to much for a phone. One reason of why phones should not be allowed in school is because it causes too many distractions in class. Some children tend to forget to turn their phones of in class. Sometimes, theirs phone might ring, which causes the whole class to lose their concentration. They can also get in trouble for not following the rules. Students many sometimes use theirs phones to text during class time. They might text their friends or anybody else. For example, Snapchat. Snapchat is one of the most used world wide media in the world. Lots of children have those nowadays. Instagram Facebook, and Twitter are also some of the things that these teens use to text during class. Games cause distractions also. Many girls and boys play games in class instead of doing their work. That can cause their grades to fall dramatically.

It can be an attention problem, students are naturally drawn to their phones because of their multiple uses that they have. Some students do not use their digital devices for the good that they have, but for the bad. Many students are more likely to get into serious trouble with they law and have serious legal problems. If students are allowed to use their cell phones in school and they get caught doing illegal things on their digital devices such as sexting, they will be punished by the law. This cause major trouble for some students. Many students will also bully other students more during school hours. If bulling numbers go up it will cause many problems for the school administration. Some students may also stop coming to school if bulling gets to severe. Therefore using digital devices in school causes more problems for the students and the school.
