The person who I going speak about did amazing things. The person lived during the 1920s-1960s. In this sets of arguments, I am going talk about the 1950s-1960s. In the 1950s, a civils rights movement happens. The civics’ right movement features African Americans that fight for equal civil rights. They were fighting this for centuries however; a major impact helps the African Americans during the 1950s. The congress ruled that segregated education facilities for black children is unequal for the Brown vs. Board of Education case ruling, South resisted this by putting their children in all-whites segregation camp. During 1956, many Southern congressmen sign a “Southern Manifesto” saying that defend segregation.

The 1970’s were an interesting decade with the Apollo space mission, and Richard Nixon’s re-election. There was also Richard Nixon, and Jimmy Carter. The 1970’s also had pet rocks, and disco music. During the 1960s, the U.S became fashioned with technology. American inventions during this time was groundbreaking and because of this decade other inventions a merged in the future. During this decade, American science and medical inventions was at its highest with the inventions like Valiums, audio cassettes, Arpanet, Kevlar, the optical disk, Medicaid, and the first man on the moon.

Today, as we know it would not be the same if it wasn’t for the year 1970. Throughout 1970, society changed in various aspects: social roles, fashion and the cost of living; these changes have influenced how we live today.

Later, the seventies brought an economic downturn, which did not last too long. Technology was no the horizon, bringing things like the mini transistor, and eventually the microchip. This brought on a new revolution. Companies promised paperless offices and copy machines replaced secretaries. Eventually computers increased production in offices and factories. Growth opportunities in semiconductors spawned new markets and even new areas like Silicon Valley.

The 1970s was an extremely interesting decade when it comes to the political history and social issues. Many things have occurred to ensure that. The 1970's was a continuation of the 1960's and had many historical events that changed the world. I wasn’t born or raised in the 70s but I did learn about it. When someone says “the 70s” I think of fun. My brain takes me to a vibrant image of bell bottom pants with a half opened button downed shirt, and flowers in women's hair. In the picture everyone is happy and holding up peace signs.
