The 70s was groovy and funky all around. The Beatles broke up, M.A.S.H. Started, and abortion was legalized. Everyone talks about watergate or the palestinians, but no one seems to recognize the amazing advancements brought about in technology. In the 1970s technology was greatly advanced by the invention of the floppy disk and the VCR.
The VCR was introduced In 1971 by Philips. VCR stands for video cassette recorder and it revolutionized home movies. It was so revolutionary in fact, that you can still buy them today, though they are packed along with DVD players. The DVD player, even though packaged with the VCR now-a-days, was the downfall of the long reign of the VCR.

In 1974 the sticky note was created, it greatly improved note taking. The glue on the back was created by complete accident. The 70s was full of more innovation than most people think, having produced some of the greatest inventions ever.
There were many events that changed history forever. First, the Beatles break up. Changing music forever. Then M.A.S.H. Was introduced. making on of, if not the most popular tv shows ever.
