After attending Texas Tech University, to further my education pursuits, I have decided that Texas Tech University Health and Sciences Center (TTUHSC) School of Medicine is my next destination. However, prior to taking this course, there were questions I had and requirements that I was unaware of that TTUHSC School of medicine requires. Prerequisites that an individual must complete are as follow: six hours of biology, six hours of upper division biology, two biology labs, six hours of general chemistry, two general chemistry labs, six hours of organic chemistry, two organic chemistry labs, six hours of physics, two physics labs, six hours of English, and three hours of statistics (math based). As far as entrance exams go, TTUHSC requires applicants to take the MCAT, of which the best score from the past five years will be used. According to (https://www.ttuhsc.edu/som/admissions/reqs.aspx#apps), ”The elements of a complete application for TTUHSC are: the main application (TMDSAS and/or AMCAS), secondary application, MCAT score, letters of evaluation, transcripts from all attended colleges and universities, photos, and application fees (the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine Secondary Application Fee is $60.00).” The Office of Admissions of TTUHSC will then review the applications of all individuals whom meet the entrance requirements. It is no surprise that the admissions office does not only look at grades and test scores, but the committee members look for the characteristics of who the applicant is such as their compassion, ethics, motivation, maturity, and personal integrity.
