The University of Texas, home of the Longhorns, is ranked the thirtieth best college in the world and number one for accounting in the United States, which will give me the chance to further extend knowledge about the field of accounting. Getting into The University of Texas at Austin can be difficult because it’s a terrific school. They have high standards for all of their students and that’s why they are ranked so well among the other colleges in the world. “The average ACT score at U.T. is 28” while “the average SAT score is 1330 on the new scale” (By). Only about forty-percent of applicants get admitted into the college. Along with the high ACT and SAT scores, the mean grade point average of an incoming freshman is 3.71 on a 4.0 scale, …show more content…
“The best-compensated accountants work in the fields of securities and commodity contracts intermediation and brokerage and for the federal executive branch” (US). Twenty-five percent of graduate’s make fifty one thousand one hundred and thirty dollars a year. The other seventy make eighty seven thousand five hundred and thirty dollars. The best ten percent of accountants make up to one hundred and fifteen thousand nine hundred and fifty dollars and the lowest makes forty thousand eight hundred and fifty dollars. I want to get a job in accounting directly after college for a big company and work my way up into the top ten percent as fast as possible because each year, the average income raises. Experts predict that the highest paid accountant will make upwards of one hundred and twenty thousand dollars a year by 2020.The highest paying city for accounting is New York City, New York. The second highest paying city is San Jose, California. Accountants are always needed, they are necessary anywhere there is money being spent and saved, every business needs someone to keep up with their money and control their finances. I hope to continue to work towards my dream of becoming an accountant by furthering my education in the department of McCombs at the University of Texas at Austin, the number one school for accounting. Although it would be expensive, that’s the school I’d like to attend because I believe that it is the best place for me to get myself to the upper percent of accountants as fast as
In 1997, Texas legislature passed a law that all high school seniors were to be accepted to the University of Texas if they finish in the top ten percent of their class. The University of Texas followed this law but found that their student body was becoming less and diverse. Universities believe that having a diverse student is an important part of learning.
After reading the book and drawing lessons from the past, I have learned that if I want to be successful, I must have the clear goals which can keep myself motivated constantly and moving forward towards the attainment of my objects. Therefore, I set the short-term goals for studying in Seneca. I hope I can participate in co-op to have more work experience after the third semester. After graduating from ACF program, I hope I can directly enter the sixth semester of IAF program and prepare for the certificate about accounting. Since IAF program requires a minimum GPA 3.0 and a minimum Grade of B for several courses, I need to get at least Grade of B+ (75%) for all the courses. To achieve my goals, I must “work much, much harder” (Gladwell 39). I will preview the textbooks, highlight the important parts or the parts that I have questions and seek help from my professors. Meanwhile, I will attend the workshops to improve my English skill since English is my second language and sometimes I find it difficult in speaking and writing. Further, I will use the time management skills that I learned from ISC

I packed four years of accounting coursework into two and a half years, and managed to graduate a semester early with 150 credits. In February of 2016, I began my career in auditing at a small firm

As a first year at California State University San Marcos, I hope to continue life as a focused and active student until I have graduated and received my business degree. At CSUSM there are excellent and rigorous courses I will need to take to achieve my mission. With previous goals I obtained, tremendous amounts of hard work and dedication took place into the various functions demanded. Attending CSUSM will be nothing distant of labor and commitment after all I must hold a part time job as well as being a full time student to graduate. Although I am currently studying business, I do not know specifically what I am designing my career towards, nevertheless, finances and math has constantly acted as my strong suit. During the time that I continue

My freshman year at Texas State University was highlighted by making the Dean’s List, receiving the Outstanding Freshman Award, and getting a Resident Assistant position that I am currently fulfilling as I apply to the University of Texas at Austin. Everything I have ever done is tied in with my lifelong goal of being employed by the elite group of the Federal Bureau of Investigation and it all starts at the University of Texas. I have never wanted anything more in my life than to attend this prestigious university where I feel confident that I will be challenged both academically and culturally. I can attest that I will exhibit fidelity, bravery, and integrity inside and outside of the classroom. I know my commitment to academic achievements will go a long way in helping me achieve my ultimate goal, and that is attending UT and representing the Latino population through a strong and steadfast academic commitment to success. I am prepared to overcome any hardships and obstacles that I may encounter.
University of Southern California’s flexible curriculum in the Business Administration major allows me to be both focused yet broad in my academic journey. With a particular interest in Finance, I will be able to concentrate my Business Electives with courses in the Finance and Economics Department, shaping my education to prepare me to become a Financial Analyst. On a broader perspective, I will use my elective units to take classes in the Department of Physics and Astrology as well as Thornton School of Music to explore my passion in physics and music composition. USC’s curriculum structure gives me the freedom to build my own education, providing me with an authoritative stance on my undergraduate experience.

Following my high school graduation I plan to study accounting and criminal justice. After looking at many colleges that aren't too far from home, I found that the University of North Texas and Texas Christian University offer good programs for both of these studies. Although I haven't made a final decision on which university I will attend, I know that they both offer adequate academic and extracurricular opportunities.
Ten years from now, I envision myself working a job I love with people I respect in a setting that’s both welcoming and challenging. I wish to learn more about accounting and finance so that I can further my career in hopes of one day opening my own accounting firm. Through Rotman Commerce and the free enterprise system I hope to gain the skills and experience necessary to achieve such a vision.
Accounting professionals are in very high demand. The nature of work in accounting is so vast an individual would have so many different areas of accounting to choose from. Accounting requires people who can work with complex business structures, computer systems, and financial analysis packages. Accounting work further requires an aptitude for mathematics and the ability to compare and analyze accounting data quickly. Accountants also need to have strong communication skills as they must effectively communicate accounting data to their employers and/or clients. The accounting profession also demands a high level of integrity and morality because the financial data prepared by accountants is used by business managers to run their
Accounting: The number one most popular bachelor degree in America is accounting. An accountant is a trained professional that keeps everything about the business in running order. This may mean anything from book keeping, to following trends in the market, or just simply tax audits. When going after a degree in accounting there is a lot of math, and plain accountant classes involved. Although accounting is the number one degree in demand, it does not even rank in the top 5 for starting salaries. If you are just a basic accountant starting out on your own, you can plan on making about $45,000, with a 4.6% increase.
There have been several studies that have attempted to examine whether the introductory accounting course has the ability to attract “the best and the brightest” students to accounting (e.g., Inman, Wentzler, and Wicker, 1989; Baldwin and Ingram, 1991; Adams, Pryor, and Adams, 1994; Nelson and Deines, 1995; Riordan, St. Pierre, and Matoney, 1996). Riordan, et al. (1996) examined whether the introductory course appeared to attract or retain quality students (as measured by GPA). They found that the mean GPA of intended accounting majors was higher than that of non-accounting students before the introductory course, and that students transferring into accounting after the course had higher GPAs than those transferring out. These results suggest that the introductory course may
