There were once some little kids named Terrence and Jerry. Terrence and Jerry were very evil, and they liked to mess with people. They were persistent in whatever they did especially when it came to getting into other peoples' nice, green grassed yards. Terrence and Jerry have some adversaries on the long street of 3rd Avenue. Tommy and Jack are their adversaries on 3rd Avenue. Later, the two teams had a little competition. Whoever put stink bombs in the nicest yards won. Those were the rules for the competition, and Terrence and Jerry were apprehensive about the rules for the competition. The next day was the competition and Terrence and Jerry were really nervous and scared. Terrence's older brother Thomas said,"Start", and both teams
One early morning Cosmo Cosma walked outside into the damp, foggy air, where he had noticed his basketball idol, Timmy Turner, appeared out of the misty, white fog. His favorite player in the world just appeared, and Cosmo was mystified by his vision. Cosmo had started trudging towards Timmy because he heard his voice calling him in a captivating tone, and once he had begun his process towards Timmy, his idol gradually begun to evaporate into mid air. When Cosmo had seen the development begin he had rapidly begun to sprint towards Timmy, when he suddenly had been awoken from his hypnotic state because of luminous, golden lights materialized from the fog. The mesmerizing lights turned out to be his friend Jorgen Von Strangle, who had come to pick up Cosmo for their Saturday morning basketball practice.
What makes you different then someone else? Do you really believe that someone is different than you by the way they look? do we believe this to be true? Who’s to say we aren’t all the same? While undefined I think it is crazy how they are treated.
In the book, the Truth About Stories, Thomas King sheds light on the power of stories. King explicitly enforces that one must take caution in the way he or she tells a story, since it will shape one’s thoughts, decision-making and future (2). Through the use of literature, King weaves his way through native history, anecdote by anecdote, informing his readers about the importance of storytelling. “Stories are wondrous things,” the author writes. “And they are dangerous.” (9). To prove this, King mentions two creation stories; the differences in these stories is the way in which they are told. The first is a famous native story called, “the woman who fell from the sky”; this story is told in a complex, persuasive way (10-20). This story discusses a society emphasizing the value of cooperation as the animals work together to create a better world (21-22). The second story, a Judeo-Christian biblical story, describes a Western Capitalist society. It is told in a historical, punitive and direct fashion, underlining a society of boundaries and punishment. King highlights that storytelling is not just simply telling a story, rather it is how the stories are told. King uses these particular stories to show how different stories shape people’s perspectives, which impacts their ideas, thoughts and decision making. Therefore he addresses how sensitive storytelling may be, for once a story is told, it can never be taken back (10). This is true in all realms of life, cautioning
Trading blows for blows, Yuri managed to hold her own against them. Managing to avoid each strike, Yuri looked for an opening, trying to even her odds. Sabra used her vines once again, aiming them in Yuri’s direction. The vines entangled around Yuri’s legs, dropping her to the ground. Malessica’s body remained coated with concrete, enlarging her fist on the downed opponent. Yuri rolled out of the way, creating a blade to cut the vines off of her legs. Gaining some distance, she created an assault rifle, aiming at Malessica. Firing away at her, Malessica formed another scutum style shield. Malessica noticed the power of Yuri’s aura increasing, seeing her shield crumbling by the second.

Even Casper has days where he can't summon the energy to say boo from under the doona. And sometimes Inky, Pinky, Blinky and Clyde – oh Clyde – just don't feel like chasing Pacman, 'cause maybe it would be nice if Pacman asked a question or two about them once in a while. Giving Clyde and Casper a run for their money is Sad Ghost Club. Created by Lize Meddings and Laura Cox, it's a place and products for all those not feeling happy. The pair met when they both had stalls at art events – Meddings was selling her illustrations, and Cox, a baker, would sell cakes. Meddings had drawn a comic about leaving the 'sad ghost club'. The sad ghost represented the rough time she was going through, and what was initially a deeply personal comic soon evolved
Over the past month our class have read short stories about African Americans during and after slavery. In the short stories that we have read each victim experienced a dark time in their lives, but each person experienced it a little bit differently. Each person somehow seemed to overcome their adversity to achieve their goals, which they became a better person for their ancestors who suffered. Three stories that caught my attention the most was The Wife of his youth, Incidents in the life of a slave girl, and Narrative of the life of Frederick Douglas. Each story the author identifies a theme or gives an idea to the readers. The short stories that I have selected, all of the stories have similar themes such as slavery, but each story
While listening to the StoryCorps stories, three of the five that I chose to focus on all have something in common. Each story depicts in some sort of way that hard work goes a long way in life. The stories I listen to were, “Anytime they had a stunt to do with a black actor, they would paint these white guys in blackface.” “The way that I look at my job as a vendor, I am a professional athlete.” and “All of a sudden Dr. King drove down the street.” These three stories showed that when you work hard, good things come to you. The “black actors” story talked about two men who wanted to become stuntmen for real actors. These two men were rejected from many films but continued practicing in parks, and on the streets. They would dive off park bleachers

On the cusps of the changing writing styles of American authors, Philip Roth is viewed as the leader in Jewish writings. Roth’s very realistic writing portrays the Jews as he views them in both their strengths and weaknesses. The distinct background and surroundings in which Roth grew up laid the framework for which the reader can view in his writings. Roth’s Jewish household shows where the Judaism in his writings originates from but the realist approach to his writings demonstrate the present day writing style. “Defender of the Faith” appears in Goodbye, Columbus and Five Other Short Stories, one of Roth’s best collections of stories and his first published set of stories. In Roth’s short story, Sergeant Nathan Marx is returning from a tour

One Day Tom, Huck, Jim, and Howard were playing tag in an open wheat field south west of town. Until the chasing of one another led to the north end of road linking town to the wide and beautiful Mississippi river. The dirt road was as red as Jim’s red coat and smelt just like a horse’s ass. Because of the horse crap all along the age old dirt road. That’s when Howard stated that his mother told him not to go past the road but Huck and Jim convinced him it would be okay to head further north into the forest. 5 minutes after heading into the forest, the boys had found a huge stick pile.
