A career as Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist has allowed me to see the effects of drugs on the people who take them. Working with patients who have all types of diseases, are on many types or have tried many types of therapies, and are frequently involved in a drug trial as given me another view of the drug development process. The world of pharmaceuticals fascinates me and my work so far has ignited a desire to acquire additional skills that will allow a deeper involvement in clinical studies. After over ten years of working in a hospital setting using imaging drugs I transitioned into a career working for a company that manufactured these drugs. It was during this time that I learned about the interactions of drugs and different types
My childhood unleashed a desire to know how things worked and why things happened; this soon flourished into a more specific interest in the field of Pharmacy. Medicine fascinated me, driving my obsession to understand all of the dynamics of pharmaceutical drugs. My studies in Biology at New Jersey City University, and my current occupation as a Certified Pharmacy Technician, led my desire to go further with my education in pursing an advanced degree as a Doctor of Pharmacy. My undergraduate career has prepared me extensively, such as requiring that I take on a wide range of science-based courses including Biochemistry, Genetics, and Microbiology. My hard work and dedication led to me being on the Dean's List for a number of semesters. I was also honored to be part of The National Honor Society of Leadership and Success and The Tri-Beta Biological Honor Society.
I have spent my time as a student pharmacist learning about opportunities within clinical pharmacy and making certain that I was equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed. In my pursuit, I became an active member of pharmaceutical organizations, held multiple leadership positions, attended clinical conferences, established research projects, participated in community service events, and other initiatives. I excelled academically, which was manifested in not just a high academic standard but also in tutoring fellow classmates and arranging sessions with other pharmacy students to help them improve time management and study skills. I shadowed pharmacists and residents before my advanced pharmacy practice experiences commenced to discover which areas of clinical pharmacy I found intriguing. I have obtained valuable pharmacy practice experiences in five specialties thus far including inpatient internal medicine, long term acute care, geriatrics and telehealth, and primary care. Through these rotations, I built upon the knowledge I acquired from my didactic courses but also developed patient-centered approaches and strengthened my clinical skills. I enjoyed many aspects of my rotations, including contributing pharmacotherapy recommendations, providing patient education, attending rounds and interdisciplinary team meetings – all of which have solidified my desire
I think I have covered most of it, but in summary, VSC is looking for someone who truly enjoys interacting with people, thrives off organization, and someone who has no problem taking one for the team. With my previous experience in recruiting, event planning, and administrative work, along with my outgoing and bubbly personality, I believe I would be a great fit for VSC. In conclusion, I wanted to inform you that am willing to relocate to San Francisco from Kentucky, and looking forward to starting my career!
When I was on a softball team a few years ago, me and my teammates would communicate through the essentials of communication which are process, meaning, and symbolic communication both on and off the baseball field. In example, when we are on the field, we communicate in procedural ways in order to reach a goal. We were engaging in action when we were practicing and using our knowledge when implementing a strategic plan on how we would play the different opponents we faced especially in crucial games. My teammates were all different races so we all had different cultural backgrounds. There were people on my team who were of American, African American, Asian, Lebanese, Puerto Rican, and Dominican descent. Therefore, my language was constantly changing when communicating between my Hispanic and American teammates. Our interpersonal competence and determination to win depicted the outcome of our games. However, most of us shared the same desire and effort in helping each other learn and grow with the team.
Through the training opportunities available at this university I will have the ability to pursue further interaction with patients while strengthening my pharmacotherapeutic knowledge related to specific disease states. In the course of achieving my short term goal of achieving a pharmacy residency, I will be able to refine and hone my clinical expertise as well as expanding my research and teaching abilities. Upon completion of this training, as well as my post-doctorate training, my plan is to obtain a position as a clinical pharmacist in a specialized patient population. The exposition to a variety of different areas of pharmacy practice will undoubtedly shape the direction which I choose to pursue, though I know that currently my primary field of interest is ____. By continuing to pursue this field, I will be better capable of teaching students in the future as well as conducting research in a variety of pharmacy
Understanding the multiple facets of the prescription drug industry including new drug creation, regulation and potential harmful effects, is needed to ease minds, remain competitive and implement change.
As an employee at Rapoport Pharmacy, I regularly encounter customers of diverse backgrounds. Each person requires different types of medication for all types of ailments. Over time, I’ve become accustomed to familiar names such as oxycodone, a pain relieving narcotic, and lisinopril, a drug used to treat high blood pressure. Being in this unique position, I would often ponder the processes that take place inside a patient’s body. I want learn more not only about the customers and their behaviors, but also about the complex makeup of the medications they take. My job has introduced me to the biological processes and physiological functions of the human body. In extension, I have developed an interest in anatomy. My long term goal is to earn
In the healthcare field pharmacist will constantly encounter situations were they will have to recommend the most appropriate treatment for a patient. Furthermore, as part of a healthcare team, other professionals will look up to us and expect us to have the knowledge and skills required to make the appropriate decisions and recommendations. It is for this reason that as part of the Integrated Pharmacotherapy: Genitourinary module they incorporate case studies and scenarios that allows us, future pharmacists, to use the knowledge we have gained and through the combination of critical thinking and proper utilization of resources we are able to integrate the most up to date information to answer drug information requests. As part of the class I was assigned to a group to work on a case about a patient that through out her life she needed advice and recommendations for treatment for different
In sophomore year of high school, I decided to go to the Piscataway Campus of Middlesex County Vocational and Technical Schools as a shared time student. In sophomore year, I both went to South Amboy High School and Piscataway Vo-Tech. The following grade, I decided to go to Piscataway Vo-Tech full time. In my junior year of high school at a new school and at home (2013-2014), it has brought a lot of change in my life.
I was very excited to learn that I had been placed at my first choice elective APPE rotation at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center focusing on pharmaceutical drug analysis and research. This was an area of pharmacy I did not have any experience in and was interested in learning more about. Dr. Klang introduced me to numerous apparatuses used daily in the research setting. I learned not only the rules and regulations of cleanroom compounding according to USP 797, but also the logic behind each component. With my previous rotation being internal medicine and working in the community setting this rotation was a complete change for me. Each day something new and exciting to work on surfaced, we were ready to research any questions proposed by the pharmacy staff at MSKCC. Through multiple projects I was able to develop the skills necessary to work, and more importantly, analyze the results of multiple machines, such as the HPLC and particle sizer.
I must admit that playing the pharmacology game is helping me to understand the different classes of medications and the difference between adverse effects and side effects so we can keep our patients safe and cut down on medical errors.

Personal Statement: Twenty years of education have brought me a deep appreciation for the study of the Power systems, Controls systems and Telecommunication. When the time came to specialize, my decision to major in Electrical Power Engineering was motivated by the hope of achieving a strong opportunity of creativity, research, and development. Electrical Engineering, with its myriad sub-domains and multi-faceted nature is a natural amalgamation that allows me to express my creativity and innovative power to bring about works that offer benefits to society. The tools and aims may be different, but designing and developing software/hardware or devising a novel mathematical proof is relatable to the work of artists in their shared spirit of creating. I view my decision to study Electrical Engineering as a natural means of fulfilling my need to create since it equips me with tools for the job: the ability to devise, test and evaluate Power systems and the programming knowledge required to implement them.
As a student in the HVAC certification program I plan to work full time as a technician after completion of the program in the fall semester of 2016. Due to my immense interest in artificial intelligence and robotics I plan to use the knowledge gathered from computer engineering courses to further the current advancements in machine learning and creating artificial intelligent beings that can help speed up humanity’s current evolutionary process. What is meant by the evolutionary process is knowledge gained at faster speeds and a greater awareness of ourselves and the
The development of every nation hinges on the effectiveness of their transportation systems. Movement of goods, services and people to and from work is made possible by transportation systems. The importance of effective transportation systems cannot be over-emphasized. A lot of countries are facing Transportation problems and my country Ghana is no exception. A trip of about 30 minutes can take about an hour or more due to traffic jams. This is seriously impacting productivity and has been a topical issue in the country. The situation is the same in Uganda where I currently work. To this end, Transportation Engineers are needed to design roads/ highways that will stand the test of time, plan effective traffic management systems to reduce travel
