Because of her show she is able to raise money for orgainastions with the help of her celberty friends and guests. With her show she is able to give back to chairities that really need it. Hurricane Harvey left thousands of people and families in devastation with winds up to 130 mph. Many people like contributed to help raise money for the disaster fund. Famous comedian, Kevin Hart, donated $25,000 to a fund and challenged other celebrities to do the same. He explains to ExtraTv, “It's simply nudging your friends to make an effort to do the same thing that you are doing... We have a platform to use our voices, and I felt that I could raise some money — and it worked.” Kevin incoraged multiple amount of celebrities to donate to the same fund, and the total amount raised was about 1.5million dollars.

She also advocates for women’s rights and calls out society’s misogyny in speeches she has made in the past, as well as in songs such as The Man and Mad Woman.

What happened on hurricane Harvey was a very sad discovery when over 3,000 people died that day. Whenever Taylor Swift donating to the Houston Food Bank for people to have food and whatever else they needed to help survivors. Taylor is one of the latest Hollywood stars to put as much money into those pockets in need of surviving in Texas. Then she made a sizable donation to the Houston food Bank in the honor of her mother whose name is Andrea, who attended University of Houston. She helped those people in hurricane Harvey by donating to the Houston food Bank for those in Texas so that they can have food.

As human beings the vast majority of us wish we could change the world, whether that be helping humans, animals, the environment, it is helping those that cannot help themselves. However, we also realize to help with these causes it takes money and for the most part a great deal of it. But, some people are fortunate enough and can help change the lives of many. That is what Ellen DeGeneres has done with her leadership skills, guidance, celebrity status and wealth. Through her kind heart and passion for the social good she does everything she can to make the world a better place. It is true that money can certainly help in spanning social good, however, multiple pennies can also impact those in need. Social good is something that anyone can do. It is not about celebrity status or being a millionaire. Social good is about feeling good about helping others when they are in need. It is about creating a sense of connectedness to humanity and being humble all the while influencing those that follow you. This is what Ellen DeGeneres is all about. Besides being a well known actress Jennifer Lawrence has her own foundation it is called the Jennifer Lawrence Foundation. This foundation assists and empowers charitable organizations that fulfill children’s vital needs and drive arts awareness and participation.
