The objective is to determine the most cost effective method to decrease the project’s deadline. The project plan discussed below has been generated through the use of a projectplanning scheduling technique, Critical Path Methodology, to secure the scientific approach. The program schedule provides a quantitative basis to make managerial decisions to shorten the implementation time of the overall project.
2. Assumptions and Approximations
The mathematical model created to schedule all the projects is based upon a number of simplifying assumptions and approximations. These need to be taken into account in order to make an independent judgment about the model’s usefulness.
The assumptions and approximations of this model are:
The product introduction program has been broken down into three groups of activities: Research & Development, Marketing & Advertising, and Promotion;
The description of each activity and the indicated time required for its completion in weeks was taken at face value from the case;
The tasks to be performed by each department and the estimated durations and deadlines were also considered as given;
The preceding activities for each activity are considered as such;
The tasks that could potentially be “crashed” by increasing resources were decisions based on the information available in the case.

Nowadays, Project scheduling plays lot of benefactor in executing any type of project in allotted time and cost. Project scheduling is a vital stage in project development phase due to technological advancement in information technology where lot of IT projects have led different way of

With this formula we can also calculate the time and the amount of money the capital invested in the project will have generate profits.
As the worked packages are completed and signed off by the PM, the schedule will be updated to reflect each work package completion. The resources completing each task will be required to report completion times immediately following the conclusion of the work package. The PM will communicate schedule adherence updates to the Sponsor at every milestone.

In today’s retail food service industry there is a large demand for convenience food. People take less time to cook and with the increase of health issues related to weight management, low calorie options are becoming very popular. Consumers have become more knowledgeable, tech-savvy, and have higher incomes; all of which create a competitive atmosphere in the convenience food market. Microwavable meals have come a long way since their early days and are now considered by many to be a staple in the freezer. Low calorie options in these
This approach requires managers to justify all of their budgeted expenditures, rather than the more common approach of only requiring justification for incremental changes to the budget or the actual results from the preceding year. (WERAGODA, 2015)
The Project Manager will develop the preliminary budget and timeline based on the detailed project plan. Due to the uncertainties involved with estimating project requirements, management should build flexibility into the schedule. The Project Sponsor will evaluate the analysis results before formally approving the project plan, budget and timeline.
• Prepare a 1,400- to 1,750-word paper that adds to the project begun last week. Check to ensure the project’s triple constrains are still valid. Address the following items in your paper: o Phase I – Update SOWa. • Using the SOW from last week, review and update it based on course material acquired during the last week. Include in the update the SMART requirements for the project. 1) • Identify the specific tasks required to complete each item listed on the SOW. Identify the resources required to accomplish each task.2) o Phase II – Project Schedule and Budget Update b. • Arrange the tasks into a schedule that takes into consideration the required dependencies between tasks. Computerized project management software is required. 1) • Present the schedule in either PERT or Gantt chart format. Identify the critical path through the network. 2) • Review the network results and compare to the project’s triple constraint. Specifically compare the following: 3) o Timing o Budget o Project specifications (scope and SMART)
(Project definition: Planned set of interrelated tasks to be executed over a fixed period and within certain cost and other limitations)
Upon inputting all requested schedule and budget information, a Jobs Ratio number will be generated and projects will be ranked within their category according to that number. (FLICS 5)
Remember the old saying, "A project plan is not a schedule until resources are committed." This exercise illustrates this subtle, but very important, difference.
The nature and scope of a project is determined at the initiation stage. This involves analyzing the business needs, developing goals, budgets, tasks, deliverables, and the stakeholder analysis. The project planning stage determines the planning team, develops the scope, and identifies work breakdown structure and activities that will be needed to complete deliverables. The planning stage also estimates time and cost activities, develop schedule and risk plan, and gain formal approval for work to begin. The executing stage involves all processes used to meet the project requirement and involves managing people and resources. The process that entails the identification of potential problems and
1. Critical Path Method and Critical Chain Project ManagementProject schedule plan is the main plan included in any Project Management Plan. Project schedule isresponsible for bringing project time, cost and quality under control. Project schedule links resources,tasks and time line together. Once a Project Manager has list of resources, work breakdown structure(WBS) and effort estimates, he is good to go for planning project schedule. Schedule networkanalysis helps Project Manager to prevent undesirable risks involved in the project. Critical PathMethod (CPM) and Critical Chain Project Management (CCPM) are key elements of schedule networkanalysis. In the following sections we will
In almost every business, project management is critically important. The critical path method (CPM) will provide a timeline for the project manager for when tasks should be completed. In addition, providing a deadline and the negative effects it will have on the following successors if not completed on time. These many task are interdepended. Therefore, the CPM provides the start and finishes times of the tasks, and identifies the few tasks on the critical path that the project manager should observe to determine which task needs the most attention. Already discovering and incorporating the details the task or assignments may require, CPM calculates all task times, which can be measured in hours, days, weeks, and months. For any unintended manually input errors, a warning message will be provided. Including an automatic successor generator, task numbering comment, and data validation, makes it easier on the project manager.
