I had the opportunity to interview Mrs. Maria G. Rivera. She Is a hardworking mother who came to the united states at the age of 13 since then she hasn't left. She has no desire of going back to Mexico and considers America home. I had the chance to dig deep into her early life history, which I will talk about in the next paragraph. I learned how much she values her children and how much she cares for them, which Is the reason why she decided to make a move and come to the United States because she was thinking of her future kids and didn't want them to experience the harsh life she lived when being a young girl.
The character Gaby Rodriguez in the novel The Pregnancy Project, written by Gaby Rodriguez and Jenna Glatzer, changes throughout the years and understands what it is like to be living in a world of stereotypes. Living in a family filled with past generations of teen pregnancies, Gaby was often told she would end up like her sisters. From other people’s perspectives, this was a family tradition. As her senior project, she faked a pregnancy to get reactions from her friends, family, and the community to see how she would be treated. Gaby went through many hardships to understand what a teen mom has to deal with on a day to day basis.

Tamora Pierce is a young adult fantasy fiction author who is quite well known for the young, strong and rebellious heroines in all of her novels. She was born December 13th, 1954 in Fayette Country, Pennsylvania. During her childhood, her family moved a great deal and books became her solace. Her uncle gave her a set of books including several from A.A Milne, who wrote all of the “Winnie the Pooh” books, and Dr. Seuss’ “Cat in the Hat.” What really got her into writing was when one day, her father told her she should start writing down her stories instead of just telling them to herself out loud, while also giving her some of her first book ideas. After that it all writing and reading every genre for Pierce, until she got introduced to J.R.R Tolkein in the sixth grade which was her window into fantasy novel, then eventually science fiction. She began writing stories mimicking all her favourite authors writing styles, something she encourages every young writer to do now.
