I would say Taryn seemed like your typical run of the mill college sophomore, but I would be lying. From the very moment she walks into a room, Taryn has this presence about her. Even though she may not answer every question the teacher poses, her presence is felt as a quiet strength throughout the class. I hoped to (and did) interview Taryn because I wanted to know what made up this confidence, this persona that showed such a strength without even saying so much of a word. I was not surprised at the strength that I found in her, shown by her responsibility, but I was surprised to find that she still had a fun side in her love for adrenaline and that she had a good sense of humor not often found in many others. She works as a medical scribe in the ER, paying close attention to every little detail in every operation she is involved in; every incision, every stitch, everything down nearly to the very words the doctor says must be recorded. This isn’t some walk in the park, sometimes she has to deal with some of the darkest and bleakest moments in a person’s life and watch on, not being able to do anything but record as best of notes as she possibly can. She pushes onward, however, with that same quiet strength she exhibits in class. She also takes up the role of babysitter as a second job, which in and of itself requires a lot of responsibility, all while maintaining the role of Executive Vice
