Deserts cover 1,371,000 square kilometres (18%) of Australia’s mainland. Deserts & their arid climatic conditions are generally found in the central west & interior lowlands of the continent. There are ten deserts in Australia: the Great Victoria Desert, the Great Sandy Desert, Tanami Desert, Simpson Desert, Gibson Desert, Little Sandy Desert, Strzelecki Desert, Sturt Stony Desert, Tirari Desert & Pedirka Desert. Only 3% of the country’s population live in the desert.
Features & Climate (Tanami Desert):
The Tanami spans across both the Northern Territory & North West Australia, its Australia’s third largest desert at 184,500 square kilometres. The Tanami receives up to 400mm in annual rainfall- a lot for a desert environment; its northern

The area is so underpopulated there is little direct human threat apart from over-grazing of cattle & farming operations. Predation from feral cats & foxes is a direct cause of the decline in the deserts Bilby population, habitat loss also plays another key role.
• The escape or deliberate release of domestic cats led to a free-living population, they are now found on the entire continent of Australia; Researchers have found the Northern Territory’s feral cat population exceeds 100,000; they kill an estimated amount of 3.65 million small native animals a year.
• Feral camels were originally imported into Australia from India, Afghanistan & Arabia for use in construction during colonisation of parts of central & Western Australia. The population now exceeds 1 million. Camels ingest 80% of the plant species available leaving little of local indigenous people or native herbivorous fauna. Their soft padded feet mean they don’t erode the earth like feral horses or cattle however they can destabilise dune-crests which may lead to erosion.
An ecosystem contain biological communities and abiotic factors that interact with each other. However, Introduced pest species in Australia have always been a major issue due to the unique ecosystems that have developed, undisturbed over millions of years, due to Australia's geographical isolation. This is especially evident in the introduction the European red fox in Australia, which has prompt negative changes to the population of the Long-nosed Bandicoot due to the predation by these foxes in the Field of mars and around Australia. The disruption the fox foxes have on the Long-nosed bandicoot can also result in sever cascading effects on the rest of the ecosystem, including abiotic factors like the soil and biotic factors like other native flora and fauna

Melbourne is located in the south-eastern part of mainland Australia, within the state of Victoria. Geologically, it is built on the confluence of Quaternary lava flows to the west, Silurian mudstones to the east, and Holocene sand accumulation to the southeast along Port Phillip. The southeastern suburbs are situated on the Selwyn fault which transects Mount Martha and Cranbourne.

Brumbies are known as the feral horses that inhabit Australia- mostly throughout the Northern Territory, Queensland and scattered centrally in Western Australia. Some small mobs live within Victoria and New South Wales, but none as vast or dense in population. These horses influence the natural habitat in many ways- they reduce vegetation growth, cause soil erosion and impact upon other animals living within the ecosystem. They are seen as pests to national parks, and essentially, this is the reason for their culling- they cause more damage than they are worth. The only positive aspect a brumby herd will impose is that they maintain walking and driving tracks throughout state parks.
Many people choose to migrate to another country to pursue a better life where one can make more money with higher standard of living. However in the town Ticuani, located in Mixteca, Mexico, many people choose to “transnational” between their native country and United State, New york. Where one will spend sometime in New york and some other times in Ticuani, and their life will be moving back and for the between country. Even though this sound like an easy plan, but immigrant who did this had to adapt life from both countries and faces difficulties and problems from two places.

As it is the oldest of the continents, Australia is often referred to as an ancient land. However, it didn’t always have its current shape, as it was once a part of a super-continent called Pangaea. This was until it separated and drifted across the Earth’s surface, causing a variety of climate changes and other geological events.
Australia’s population is culturally and ethnically diverse. As at June 2010, there were 22.3 million residents in Australia, around one-quarter of the population was born overseas and many residents who were born in Australia have a parent who was born in another country. Aboriginal people and Torres Strait Islanders represent 2.3% of the population
Historians and excavators visiting the location of Tanis all agree that it was a location that was not easily accessible. In the 1920s, Pierre Montet was the first Archaeologist to visit the site of Tanis; he described it as muddy, harsh grassland that was hazardous to access. From this it can be concluded that the location of Tanis played a key role in its preservation. When looking at Ancient sites Archaeologists are faced with many issues. If a settlement is not well preserved it is likely that the evidence from this site is also not well preserved. This can make it difficult for Archaeologists to be able to identify a site accurately. In Ancient Egypt many abandoned settlements were built out of mud brick. This is because when broken down
Cultural Identity is “The definition of groups or individuals (by themselves or others) in terms of cultural or subcultural categories (including ethnicity, nationality, language, religion, and gender)” (Oxford Reference). Everyone has cultural identity even though some are unaware of theirs because their habits and traditions might be seen as normal to the person and they might not make the connection that it is a cultural tradition or connected to their cultural identity. Some people are very aware of their cultural identity and have conflict within their identity because the cultures may not coincide. Frida Kahlo’s Self Portrait: On the Borderline Between Mexico and the United States and Pat Mora’s “Legal Alien” both show cultural conflict through symbolism, conflict, and purpose.

“Progress lies not in enhancing what is, but in advancing toward what will be” (Khalil Gibran). Every day the world is advancing. From how humans communicate and travel, to how humans learn, or utilize technology. Everything is being critiqued and criticized in some way, shape, or form. Whether it is with clothing, cars, or new ways to punish people, the world is constantly coming up with something new. The death penalty has been around for the longest time. It is used to punish “wrongdoers” (“Origins of Capital Punishment”). The death penalty takes the individuals lives to “pay for the crimes” that they did. The logic statement behind the death penalty is, “A life for a life” (“Origins of Capital Punishment”).
