Syracuse University is an outstanding place of higher education. It provides a diverse, stimulating, and exciting classroom, and one that truly teaches its students how to live a life of value. Syracuse’s level of diversity promotes understanding and tolerance in all, helping to eliminate racism and religious intolerance in its student body. Its stimulation helps to encourage its students to “always seek the light of truth,” as the words of the High School National Honor Society pledge echo. Students are always encouraged by the university to expand their knowledge, and to never stop learning. The feeling of enthusiasm on campus, provided not only in the classroom, but also through Syracuse’s wide selection of on-campus activities, such as Division I athletics, clubs, and service organizations, teaches students to seek opportunities to live a full and meaningful life. This is what I truly hope for my life, and Syracuse University can help me become …show more content…
Maybe I will be an Officer in the U.S. Army, or the U.S. Air Force. Maybe I’ll be a lawyer, working to put away America’s criminals and to remove them from the streets. I could find myself working in politics, running for an elected position in the New York State or U.S. government. Maybe, if dreams truly do come true, I could be working for the CIA, NSA, or for Homeland Security. But, regardless of the direction I go , my life will be enriched and significantly impacted by the lessons that I learn at Syracuse University. The diversity that I will be exposed to will allow me to work well in groups composed of others who are different from myself. The academic stimulation will encourage me to hunt for information, to dig deeper in order to gather evidence with which I will prosecute known criminals, or use to defend these United States of America. And no matter which path I choose, I will always seek to live an exciting life, one I will never become bored
It is with pride and humility that I have chosen Suny Empire State College as the institution to pursue my studies. This college affords me the opportunity of enrolling without the standard entry test, which is a requirement of most traditional colleges. It also allows me to tailor my studies in the area of Emergency Management. Suny Empire State College will makes it easier for me as a student to study and work due to the constraints of my schedule. Having a mentor is a great incentive, it provides guidance, motivation, and emotional support which is always needed and welcome. Another aspect of the college that captured my interest is with the flexibility in catering to mature adults, who are seeking to advance their career as well as their
Professionally my hope is to become a lawyer and Syracuse is one of the few universities that offers prelaw studies. In attending Syracuse I would be well prepared to further my education successfully when attending law school. In a more figurative sense; I want to be someone my parents are proud of, who is well-rounded and set to embark on the journey of this world and create change to make the world a better place to endure. I have lived In San Francisco all my life and I would say that is an immense privilege to be around so much diversity. New York is similar in terms of the big city lifestyle but there are so many differences that I want to experience. I would hope that being in a new environment will teach me what is like everyday in the real world, and needing to adjust to
I am interested in attending UNC Wilmington for one reason being a program that is offered that I am planning to study which is sports medicine and this leads me into more medical programs that I am interested in for the future. The location of UNCW is in the town I live in and so it is by the beach which are factors that I keep in mind. Growing up in Wilmington has given me the chance to participate in the Little Seahawks Program as a kid, attend many basketball camps and volunteer or play in the Leon Brogden Tournament which was held at UNCW and so I have been able to get a taste of the campus through all of these events throughout my life. Over the summer of 2017 my high school basketball coach has grown a relationship with the women’s basketball
When my family first moved to the United States from Dubai, my Dad and I explored NYU’s Washington square campus in admiration of how a congested city could hold such a beautiful campus. At that point attending NYU became an aspiration I wanted to fulfill. While preparing my college application, my family was not doing well financially. Therefore, I attended Baruch because tuition was covered through scholarships and financial aid. Although Baruch provides a great education, I realized that I was not driven to pursue actuarial science. Later on, I discovered that pursuing computer science at NYU was the perfect fit for me.
Attending Wesleyan University would be a dream come true for me. I love everything about Wesleyan! I am striving to get a meaningful education and Wesleyan’s program has an excellent reputation. I envision being a part of the Wesleyan community by participating in various clubs and organizations, playing for the tennis team, and pursuing the degree that I am passionate about. This would allow me a meaningful and holistic journey that culminates with a well-rounded foundation to pursue my future goals.
Fast forward 10 years, and I see myself sitting around a table with people from nay countries and endeavoring to reach a resolution. Although this career in international is important, I hope to balance my life between my career and other meaningful life experiences like developing deep companionships, travel, culture and giving back to the community. Because preparing for a meaningful life will result in preparing for a more focused and successful career. I enjoy being able to challenge new circumstances and therefore, it is my hope that my undergraduate education will offer me the opportunity to enhance my academic knowledge and qualifications and a variety of experiences both with the confines of the university and outside of the university.
On top of that, NYU stresses that it is a global university, and as a student who comes from an extremely diverse school and plans to study abroad while in college, I feel comforted to know that I won't have to adjust myself to assimilate with the New York City community. It reassures me that the collaborative and multifaceted efforts present in my school will also be waiting for me at NYU. Academically speaking, I also clearly remember a tour guide saying how in the history of NYU, no two students have ever had the same schedule. This shows that anyone can excel and be a leader in any field. All in all, there is no doubt in my mind that NYU will foster my academic interests and push me to become as worldly and content as possible, expanding NYU's horizon to
I have made a promise; not a shallow promise, but one that I tend to keep and fulfill. I made a promise to myself to use my skills, knowledge and abilities to be an impactful person in society. I made a promise to become an everlasting groundbreaking surgeon with the aim of working with highly remarkable non-profit organizations to help countries with less developed healthcare systems like my hometown, Gambia and many other countries with different arising issues and complaints. I have a vision; a vision of gaining higher level education and acquiring more sets of skills and knowledge in a diverse domain where I am critically and mentally challenged in and out of class. Columbia University has caught my continued interest ever since I learned about it and the different academic programs and outside of school opportunities which made me fall in love with the school and made it my first choice. My little sister who I have been working with and share most interest with, in the medical field, will be attending Columbia University this fall. We have worked together to accomplish a lot and provide our guidance where it is needed and it be blessing to continuously
After my first visit to Ithaca during my junior year, I knew I wanted to attend Cornell University. When it didn’t work out the first time around I was determined to move forward, but I couldn’t; I still wanted to be an Applied Economics and Management Major at Cornell. Now that I am unhappy with my current education, I am pursuing admission to Cornell again. More specifically, my goal is to concentrate in finance, where I can have a positive impact on companies, industries, or even society.
When I began my college search, I knew that I wanted to be a journalist and stay within the northeast region. In talking about my major and potential colleges with many of the customers where I work, many of them suggested I look at Syracuse University. I took their advice and decided to visit the campus in November 2014. I took the walking tour prior to the informational session started and as I explored more and more of the campus, it started to feel like home. Being on the Syracuse campus felt like walking through the door of my house after a long trip. Following the visit, my mom and I spent time with some friends, one of whom is a Syracuse alumna. Even though our friend graduated in the early 80s, some aspects were the same, like
There was a warm breeze that Friday in September when I packed my two large bags, kissed my family and friends good-bye, and left my home. Thus the greatest adventure of my life was begun. On my first day of studying in France, I woke up early and took a quasi-shower, which consisted of sprinkling myself with water for hours until all the soap finally drained out of my hair. My dressing procedures were followed by a silent breakfast that consisted of some bitter-tasting, dark liquid and a hard, bread-like substance. The bread I ate dry, for fear of the dark scary-looking pot of jam. I packed my books and headed off for class.
First of all, I am interested in Rochester University due to the fact that Rochester is ranked 190 in the QS worldwide university ranking, with an outstanding focus in research and labs infrastructure. Additionally, Rochester has first-rate data center, which has a Blue Gene/Q supercomputer and excellent training tools for any student who has access to them. Consequently, I know that Rochester is an excellent University with a powerful technology platform. For these reasons, I would be pleased if Rochester accepts and give me the opportunity to excel and strengthen my professional profile.
The success and recognition that the school of Literature, Science, and the Arts has received over many decades has drawn me to the belief that this is the designated school for me. I have always dreamt of becoming a Michigan Wolverine and pursuing a college education in the field of biology and psychology. Given the level of difficulty of being accepted into this program, it has only empowered me to work more vigorously than ever before. There are several unique qualities that attract me to this specific undergraduate college: the various programs and majors it offers and the opportunity to be admitted to a higher-level institute within the university.
I wish to prove to the committee that I, despite all appearances, am worth investing in. Without apprehension, I believe that National University is the institution most suited toward honing my potential and handing me the tools needed to build a future of my own design. I’ve taken steps toward that end on my own; I’ve shifted careers and started at the bottom in a city library so that I may gather experience in a field I’ve respected since childhood, and I set aside an hour - at least - every day so that I may write uninterrupted. Writing is my passion, and I know this university will transform a passion and hobby into a worthy livelihood. Before I reach that goal, however, I must first explain the events which lead to my unsuccessful foray into higher education.
College is a very important time in anyone’s life. It’s a time where boys and girls turn into men and women. It’s a time where people learn valuable life skills, and how to live on their own. Choosing the right college is an incredibly important decision. Colleges come in a wide variety of shapes and sizes, specialties and strong points, as well as cultures and diversities. As a senior that will soon be on my way to a college is campus, it is vital for me to figure how I will fit in with the rest of the student body. As a human I have a unique mindset, just like everyone else, complete with values and morals that differ from everyone else’s. I also have a unique high school repertoire which encompasses many of my academic
