Reverend Todd wrote a book, “Women’s Rights”, about how bloomers were a harm to society. An indirect quote that my professor told us is why do women need men if they can ride bikes. We can wear a sexy, low necked, bodycon dress to an event or wear a sexy two-pieces bikini to the beach or swimming pool. However, it does not mean every woman who wears immodest clothes is an immodest person. In daily life, women should be modest at work or school, or even in the street. However, they can be a bit more attractive while going to a special event if it is not too much and they still keep their modest

Cats also make good companions because they like to curl up next to us for a good long nap, and there is no better sleeping partner than a cat. Cats don’t care what we look like, they don’t expect anything in return, and they will always keep our feet warm! Another example of why a cat makes a good companion is because at the end of the day they will not come running up to us at the door and lick us to death like a dog. They are just glad to see us. A meow and a flip of the tail is all that is needed to say hello. One more reason cats make good companions is because they can live long lives. If they are taken care of properly it is not uncommon for them to live into their teens or twenties. Also cats are good companions because they are soft and cuddly and easy to love. When looking for a good companion, a cat will make a wonderful choice and a lifelong friend.

As most of our popular culture, everything is always changing. What is in while we are teenagers will be ancient in 10 years. The same goes for the wardrobes of women. I think that the clothing options have had a positive progression because of the acceptance of female sexuality. In the early 1920s women were extremely modest by showing little to know skin in their daily lives. Women were expected to be made up all of the time and that is something that I couldn’t even imagine. Being a Marian girl, there is nothing I love more than throwing my hair up every morning with no makeup. As you move into the 60s and 70s women began wearing skirts, dresses, and girdles. YUCK. There is nothing wrong with a more modest look, the problem I have with clothing is that even when mothers were cleaning the house they were expected to be in dresses or other types of uncomfortable, but nice looking clothing. It has been cool to see how slowly skirts have gotten shorter and more skin is being shown, but the central issue is the mindset of seeing women as sexual object rather than a person. Although in our time no type of clothing is surprising, there is still a sense of judgement from men and even older women when you wear something that makes your look like a “slut”. Have you ever walked through a public place, like a school or mall, and noted other's outfits? Instantly, you begin to notice the person whose outfit doesn’t resemble the rest. In a sea of teens wearing preppy colored hoodies and skinny jeans, your eyes are drawn to the girl wearing shorts with the fishnet stockings layered underneath. Imagine all the glances she received throughout the day because her outfit did not meet the requirements of someone’s idea of modesty. Modesty, by definition, means a small amount or to avoid indecency pertaining to behavior, manners and appearance. But who sets these standards? Modesty is a word that varies between each person, is constantly changing, and is different for each culture.

After domesticated cats enter new environments, they will normally run away and try to find a place to hide. Cats do this because territory is very important to all forms of cats. So they will find a hidden out of the way place and will gradually come out and explore. Usually cats will stay in this state for about a week or so. When cats get familiar with the environment they are in they will explore more. If cats in a house they will jump on everything, and try to knock things over. They will not too far away from their hiding space, so it is good if they have a source of food and water

Throughout the years, the innovation of women’s clothing has put on an extensive impact on young females. From the Macleans article “Why are we dressing our daughters like this” by Lianne George, the idea is the sexualization of women. Although some young girls may dress as provocatively as they wish, they are being exploited by the media, marketing campaigns, and fashion retailers that are using marketing techniques by hiring many celebrities to execute their segment and advertising themselves in a way that easily dominate young female audiences to dress inappropriately rather than being empowered as it resides in the way one feels about themselves, instead of the clothes they wear.

In Hollywood you're not considered a prominent figure, until you drive a Range Rover. For this reason, the Range Rover is the perfect commodity to exemplify a Hollywood myth. A myth as Roland Barthes describes in Mythologies, is a kind of speech, in which the history of an object is distorted to signify a new modern history that feels completely natural to modern society. The Range Rover has been appropriated into Hollywood by celebrities and is predominantly owned by upper class celebrities such as Kim Kardashian, Jay-Z and David Beckham. This vehicle, which was was originally used in the military and for off roading terrain has had it’s history drained and filled with a new history that signifies a much different myth than it used to. In this essay, I will argue that the myth of the Range Rover signifies a prestigious and powerful vehicle, designed with royalty and privilege as it is made specifically for the celebrities and the famous upper class personalities of Hollywood.
