Max is a teenage boy who has special needs and no friends. Kevin a.k.a. Freak is the other main character. I think the plot of the story is a maturation plot because Max learned how to read ,write and to be polite to people with Kevin (Freak) .Those are some skills you learn while you mature. In the beginning the problem was that Max didn't have any friends and had learning disabilities . Max’s mother was murdered and his father was arrested because he was accused of killing Max’s mother .Max was living with his Mom’s parents in their basement. He was …show more content…

In chapters 6 and 7 of Philbrick’s thrilling novel, Freak the Mighty, two misfits that met in daycare, reunite in junior high and become courageous to overcome obstacles. Philbrick uses exquisite tone and mood to persuade strong character development, and help readers understand the character’s bond. Rodman Philbrick’s use of mood and tone show that two heads can be better than one. Maxwell and Freak are being approached by the town bullies, Tony D. also known as Blade, and his gang. Philbrick uses a tone of intimidation to exemplify Tony. Kevin confidently confronts Tony, “ Hey what!” And he moves right in front of Freak. “Want to say that again, little freak man.”
In Rodman Philbrick's compelling story Freak the Mighty, Max was kidnapped by his own dad who now has begun his plan to brainwash his own child into believing that everything this whole time has been a lie and he's innocent. After taking a rest Kenny starts his plan by telling Max that he killed nobody and he was just assumed for that because, of his size. This displays that, Kenny is manipulating his own son into believing that he is innocent. He even uses the Bible card by swearing he isn't a serial killer. At first Max was more agitated and nervous, but, when Kenny got the bible out, Max started to feel numb and think. After a long talk and some more sleep Killer Kane goes to Max and continues his goal of brainwashing his own child by, coming
These characters are quite the same in the book and the movie. In the beginning Max is bullied and is kind of an outkast. Freak/Kevin came to his new school, but he was bullied because he was Smarter and
because he is always there for Freek. For example, one day Freak was playing in his backyard and he got his ornithopter stuck in the tree. Max went to Freaks house and got the ornithopter for him (page 12). As well as when Max and Freak go to the fireworks alone. Freak is to short to see the fireworks with everyone standing around him, specifically on page 32 Max says “so I just sort of reach down without thinking and pick up Freak and set him on my shoulders.” This proves that Max can be very thoughtful without even thinking in ways that he doesn’t even know. Lastly, when Freak asks Max to go out at 3 in the morning to go digging in a sewer pipe, Max agrees, even though he doesn’t

Good Day Mr. Rodman Philbrick, I wanted to talk to you about your book “Freak the Mighty.” I enjoyed reading this book, it was actually really interesting. The thing I liked the most about this book was in the beginning of the book, when Maxwell thought that Freak was kind of weird. But then when freak moves next to his grandparent’s house, Maxwell starts to know Freak better and notices that Freak was actually a smart person. Later on the book Freak starts to help Maxwell with his school work, for Maxwell to get better get better at school. The only part that I will change in the book is the way Maxwell and Freak get to know each other. I will change the setting of the story, from the daycare, to the school cafeteria. It will start by seeing
Freak the Mighty Freak the Mighty is a story that tells you about the importance of friendship. Both the book in the movie are heartwarming experiences. There are two main characters. The two main characters names are Max and Kevin.
The novel, Freak the Mighty, and the movie, The Mighty, have many things in common, but also have several differences. The first similarity is that in both the text and movie, Max first puts Freak on his shoulders at the fireworks. He does this because Freak complains that he can’t see anything, so Max picks him up without thinking and places his on his shoulders. As a result, Max carries Freak around on his shoulders everywhere.
If Max was not constantly searching for a way to survive, he would not have come across Liesel and the story would have been a whole lot different. There would be no secrecy or constant fear that they might be caught. Max would have gone to a concentration camp and Liesel wouldn’t have done some of the things she has. Now one can see that without this important search of Max trying to survive, he would have never met
In the film, Max is depicted as a ruthless fighter who manifests inappropriate behaviour. Although in reality, Max’s fighting style was very powerful he was actually a very caring person. Also, in the film they made it seem as if Max had killed two people in the boxing ring but in reality, he had only killed one and his name was Frankie Campbell. After this incident, Max was traumatized by what he had done and became a different fighter and man. “Nothing that ever happened to me—nothing that can happen to me—affected me like the death of Frankie Campbell,” he said, shortly after the fight with Carnera.

In Freak the Mighty, Max and Freak are the two main characters. Freak is a small boy who is really smart while Max is a huge boy who gets confused a lot. Out of both of these characters, I can relate to both of them. I am really awkward sometimes and kinda act like Freak but I also am like Max because I do get confused a lot when a lot is being said.
Max knew that other people looked down at him, for example that they thought he was stupid. Max admits it when he says “My brain is vacant, okay? I’m just this critter hiding out in the basement, drooling in my comic books or whatever.” (Page 6, paragraph 2) When he meets Kevin, Kevin helps him because he accepts Max for who he is. Unlike other people Max have met, there are always things that they don’t like about him, that is one of the reasons he is bullied, moreover, was a
