During the middle of the 1st century Paul who was a Hellenized Jew became a missionary to Gentiles throughout the Roman empire. The Prosecution of a Roman Citizen tells the story of how Paul, who was one of the twelve apostles, was handled by the legal procedures of the empire as a Roman citizen.

The essay, America’s True History of Religious Tolerance, written by Kenneth Davis, made me realize how non-free America actually is towards religion and how people choose to practice it. It also opened my eyes on how to deal with most situations of this nature, if every arose to mo or towards any one else around me, as an American citizen

One of the fundamental rights in the U.S. constitution is guaranteed to all citizens in the first amendment. We have the right to practice any religion of our choosing, including the practice of no religion at all. The framers of the constitution even put the freedom of religion before our rights to free speech and free press (Haiman). This constitutional right allows America’s blend of naturalists, pantheists, theists, and spiritualists to practice their beliefs without interference from the government. This collection of religions adds to our diverse culture and creates an atmosphere of individuality without persecution. The Christian worldview possesses very unique qualities that separate it from the others. Christians believe that only one God exists (Timothy 2:5) and that he created mankind in his own image (Genesis 1:27). God then sent his son Jesus to die for the original sin of man and to allows us to ask forgiveness for our sins. Christian values are built off the teachings of the holy bible and are absolute with the teachings of God. In order to analyze the Christian worldview and actively practice it without persecution one must investigate the belief in God and his son Jesus, understand human nature, and accept restoration and redemption.

The author's main purpose for writing A Myth of a Christian Nation is to explain how the world has claimed to be founded on christian principles but has neglected to see that this is a lie that we as christians and people in society have told ourselves to make it seem like we are “ one nation under God”. Boyd also focuses in on and introducing our role in the kingdom of God vs the kingdom of the world and our role in politics and society.

From a Christian perspective, American culture is full of misleading ideas that undoubtedly derive from contentiously evil principles yet find voluminous supporters who continue to promote such exploits. Integrating the belief systems of Biblical principles and secular approaches has been a critical debate for years within American culture and continues to polarize with the changing healthcare laws permitting abortions, supreme courts legalizing gay marriage, the elimination of prayer from public schools in the 1960s and more recently the demand to remove the Ten Commandments from government facilities. All these political social endeavors continue to divide Christians from secularists in a substantial psychological manner (Clinton & Ohlschlager, p. 704).

“Greek democracy was not ‘flawed.’ It was a tremendous triumph if you view it in the context of its own time in history.” This is a statement that is very controversial and the way you see it may not be how many other people see it. There is no true correct answer to this, but in my opinion, I disagree. I believe that Greek democracy was flawed if not extremely flawed.

Christianity over the course of history has a vast influence on individuals, society and the way believers conduct themselves. It provides morals, practices and ethics that every Christian attempts to live by. Throughout the many denominations in the Christian church, Paul of Tarsus had a significant influence on the faith. His contribution to the development and expression of Christianity is immense and can be seen to stem from his writing and missionary journeys which have implemented his ideas and interpretations onto the development of Christianity. After Jesus, Paul was arguably the most significant figure in Christianity as his teachings form a significant part of the New Testament. Like may other Pharisees of that time in history, Paul sought to suppress the early Christian movement. He accused early Christians of blaspheming against God and breaking Mosaic Law. However, Paul had a life-changing experience when he had a vision of Jesus, and he spent the remainder of his life as a missionary for the early church. Centuries after his ministry, his teachings still influence Christian theology.

The war on drugs has been talked about since Nixon brought it into play several years ago. It is not surprising that the war on drugs has been rather stagnant over the decades, with little positive outcomes. The war on drugs seems to only fill up the prison with people who in societies eyes have minor or nonviolent offenses. I understand that drugs in the community in a serious problem, however, if this same method hasn’t been working for years then why would it work now.

I have always been referred to as the “artistic kid” growing up. I would draw a lot, create amazing sculptures out of Lego’s, and was naturally inclined with technology and software. I became more interested in trying different mediums as I grew older and more aware of what is available. I’ve worked with oil paint, acrylics, charcoal, pencil, spray paint, and digital work in Adobe. I have been fortunate that my guardians have tried to support the artist in me throughout the years.
