Success Definition
Merriam-Webster defines success as “the attainment of wealth” which showcases and supports my opinion that success is about money and fame rather than happiness and satisfaction. Nelson Mandela said that “Money won’t create success, the freedom to make it will.” bringing forth that money is not the catalyst for success, but success is the catalyst for money, which shows that success is a financial change and not an emotional change. Likewise, when people normally talk about successful people it’s not someone that is content in life, instead they talk about celebrities and wealthy people. In my experience when thinking about success I think about wealth and not someone who is happy. This could
Success is an interesting word to all of us, from the earliest age even to the grave’s edge we cannot be indifferent to it. The Merriam Webster Dictionary defines success as the fact of getting or achieving wealth (“Success”). However, an
Earlier in my life I thought success was having a lot of money, houses, cars, etc. I grew up thinking that people who had lots of money were successful and happy. My obsession then, became to make a lot of money so that I can lead a successful and happy life. I have come to understand that success is not in the amount of wealth or property you have amassed.
Success is a word that really hard to define, because everyone will have a different definition for this word. In fact, there no exact definition for the word "success". For a student, maybe the success means to pass all courses of the semester; for a business man, signing a importance contract and get a lot of money are successes; and for a president, leading the country to develop and make the people have a better life are success. For me, I also have my own definition for the word "success". When I was a kid, I really want to be a scientist, but after I become mature, my thinking has become more mature and my definition of success also
Success has a unique meaning to everyone. To me, success means doing what I love, being happy, and to make good money.
I define success as trying you're hardest no matter what and persevering through everything that you try. You may not get through the problem that you are having. Even though you didn't complete the challenge that you were having if you got as much out of the task that was placed in front of you, then you have succeeded. I also define success as when you set a goal for you're self or someone else sets a goal for you. If you reach that goal or go above that goal that was set, then you have succeeded. I believe that success is not just finishing you're work, test or challenge, if you finish it but do not do you're best and try you're hardest, then I believe that you are not successful in what you just did, but if you go as hard as you can, not
There are many different understandings of what success is. Some relate success to money, others relate success to happiness, but it all depends on the type of person.
It does not matter as long as you go as long as you do not stop. My definition of a success is someone who tries as hard as they can in life. First, my definition of a success is someone who has worked really hard to get where they are now, it does not matter how much money they are making, or what job they have, it matters how hard they worked to get there. Second, my Uncle, Brian, is someone I would count as successful, he has worked so hard for years, and now he is a doctor. Last, I would also count my Aunt, Elizabeth, as a success, she has worked hard her entire life to get where she is today, she is a physical therapist. Therefore, my definition of a success is someone who tries their very best to be where they are now.
Is Success all about wealth and popularity? Or does it have a deeper meaning than what we perceive. Success: an accomplishment of an aim or purpose. We all seem to want success. We all tend to seek it. “Success” seems to be the magic word for what we chase after, prepare for, choose, and desire. It’s how we often define our lives. Money, fame, and power are often what we have been told make up success.
In his poem, “What is Success,” Ralph Waldo Emerson gave priceless insight when he wrote:
"Try not to become a man of success, but rather try to become a man of value.”
Success. It comes in various ways. A lot of times people like to base their success on the level of their achievement, I am one of those people. As a perfectionist it’s difficult to maintain a level head when I fail or succeed. Failures occurred to me all the time. Even when success was reached I find myself looking for more. Resilience was the most important life lesson I learned through sports. I taught myself to not give in when I faced an obstacle. Whether it meant going down 2-0 early in a game or having to play a game without my team’s top goal scorer, my resilience was what kept me working till the very end. Throughout my entire soccer career I never really felt success. Of course there were small spurts of successes when it came to
What is success? Is it the process of doing a task and receiving a positive result acceptable amongst the community, or is it simply achieving ones own personal goals? Success to me can mean many things. Although I am successful in school, that does not necessarily mean I will lead a successful life.
Success is like balance, tedious and differing, always needing adjustment to match a each differing situation. Balance is such a simple thing, yet people are so amazed by the feats it can achieve. Balance is a strange and untouchable thing, always wavering in the distance, never able to be reached. Balance is a mythical and miraculous thing that people are always trying to achieve, yet is so hard to get to. Just as is success. Success is simple and amazing, strange and incorrigible, mythical and miraculous. People always strive to reach success in their lives, to finally meet that end goal they were striving after so long. Both balance and success are goals people strive to achieve yet are so hard to get to. And each is just as subjective as the other.
The desire to be successful and happy naturally exists in all people. Success is often associated with the acquisition of wealth and material goods. When an individual feels that money and goods will bring them happiness in their lives, they will become more and more determined to
Most people commonly describe success, as being wealthy in life. This is not the meaning entirely, the definition of success is simple. A person is successful, if he or she has very good payment at his or her work and if he or she is happy with the job, they are doing. Education really leads to success. If a person has good education, he or she can choose their careers and be successful at it. Education is a form of learning in which the knowledge and skills is being transferred from a group of people to another or from a generation to the next, through teaching and training. Any experience that has a formative effect on the way someone thinks feels and acts can be said to be educational. Apart from education, other different traits lead
