When it comes down to it, I am a weirdo. When I was growing up, kids generally did not monitor what words and phrases they used every day. All through middle school and high school, it was very common to hear phrases like, “You’re so stupid!” or “You are such an idiot!” While these phrases don’t seem to be horrible language, the effect they have on the receiver can be devastating. Reading about it in this chapter really brought that message home to me. Looking back, I know there were occasions when my mom said to me, “That was so stupid of you.” I totally shut down and stopped listening to them. I used to get into arguments with my mom about how she called me stupid and she would emphatically stress that she did not call “me” stupid, she said that the action I “did” was stupid! She used to tell me there was a difference, but I did not get it; now I get it. As the receiver, I heard the word “stupid” and immediately stopped listening because of the word choice. The message to me was ambiguous and I misinterpreted it. If my mom had used an “I statement” instead of a “you statement,” approach, I would not have felt like such a failure and stopped listening to her. Being poor means you barely have enough money for the luxuries in life; you can only afford the absolute necessities in life. Being middle class means you can afford to splurge here and there on luxuries. Being wealthier means you live a life of opulence, and you are not concerned with money in the slightest. I do not live an extravagant live nor do I live a life devoid of luxuries. Most of my significant events in my life do not have money involved in them. Whenever I have money I carelessly splurge it on things I will never come to use or I treat myself to candy with it. The National Forensics Academy was full of multiple dimensions of crime scene investigation that I had not even thought about nor learned about in the past. The world of crime scene investigation is interesting to me because of all these aspects and because they are ever changing, and new and better methods are being discovered. Throughout the academy I learned about these aspects in detail and how there are various methods within each aspect. The aspects that I learned were how to photograph a crime scene, finger printing, foot impressions, crime scene sketches, blood spatter analysis, bullet holes, bones, and digging up a grace to recover a body. These aspects work together to investigate and recreate crime scenes.

It is not uncommon to conceive a general view of someone before the option to truly understand them comes along. i The person I conceive myself to be and the person that family and friends conceive me as acquire similarities as well as few differences. Throughout my life, me and my family have moved around a lot, from Toronto’s east to west end, and even the countryside. Trash is everywhere! Let's take a moment and take a broad look at the City of Anderson, Indiana. Anyone that drives through the town would agree that trash is a problem. Trash is found just about everywhere in this dirty city.This problem pushes people away from the town and makes people not want to live here.
