1.1 Background
Universal Studios Singapore (USS) (Appendix 1) is a globally-recognized brand, a local theme park located within Resorts World Sentosa which had a grand opening on 28 May 2011. It is the first Universal Studios theme park to open in Southeast Asia. The park is 20 hectare and the official park map was revealed to the public on 20 October 2009. The park features 24-themed rides, of which 21 are normal rides, 6 roller coasters and 2 water rides.(Wikipedia,2015)The 24 rides and shows segregated by 7 themed zones gives visitors a taste of different movie experiences all within one park, in an organized fashion. Universal Studios Singapore is owned by Genting Group on 8 December 2006 as they won the bid to build Singapore’s second integrated resort.

Unfavourable weather conditions could be a factor which prevents visitors from taking the rides due to safety precautions.
Strengths and Opportunities
•USS has a strong international branding which allows most tourists to know about the existence of Universal Studios.
•USS is known for its consistency throughout all the Universal Studios theme parks around the world thus, people would have high expectations where they expect to receive a consistently good service as well as overall experience.
Strengths and Threats:
•Even though there are other tourist attractions in Singapore, their branding is not as strong as Universal Studios Singapore(USS) thus it is more known to tourists than the other attractions.
•USS has Customer Engagement Marketing where they receive feedbacks from customers and improve on feedback thus improving customer relation thus preventing not meeting up the customer expectation.
Weaknesses and
The strategy of the company’s in the market involving a poor marketing mix strategy, a poor integrated marketing communication strategic plan and service strategy with no experience. There is no evidence of feedback mechanism to insure customer satisfaction or to encourage company loyalty through sustained company-customer relationships.

Have you ever heard of Universal Studios? If not I will tell you about it. Universal Studios is a theme park and film studio. Universal studios was created by Carl Laemmle. Carl Laemmle created Universal Studios in Universal City,CA on April 30, 1912.
Some of these strengths include great core values, their human and social capital, they carry a wide variety of products that have a strong brand name, and their expansion through global expansion and investment.
Recently, at Universal Studios, the Wizarding World of Harry Potter opened up. This magical land is based off of J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter series, and includes fun rides, a Hogwarts replica, exciting shops, and even Moaning Myrtle in the bathrooms! This recent success is expected to help some, but hurt others. Disneyland might be seeing a loss of customers, due to this addition to Universal Studios. Disneyland is expected to lose business, but the wonderful land full of fairy tales has started competing for customers. Although Sea World has all these good motives in mind for the society; however, the whole idea of bringing the wild closer to the public has led to various casualties.
As a result, the company focuses on its target markets and effectively delivers on its value proposition to satisfy its customer’s needs, wants, and demands.

This is helpful for families when they want to get a group picture but can find anybody to take it for them, also the photographers can take pictures where most people can't, like on the rides. While it cost less to sell to existing customers and companies can increase profit by selling to the same customers; if customers are satisfied, there is more chance they will come back for more services or products. Satisfied customers are a free marketing for the company. However, it is the opposite if customers are dissatisfied. Dissatisfied customer will tell 8 to 10 people about his or her experience (O’Brien, A & Marakas, G. 2004). If by any reason, representatives see that the customer is not satisfy, they should act fast and fix the problem.
