Perseus and His Heroic Responsibilities Before his birth, Perseus’s future was destined from the start. King Acrisius, unable to have a son upon his first try, seeks out a prophecy from a god. He wants to know the possibility of having a son. The priestess reveals far worse news, he will never have a son and his daughter will have a child that will ultimately kill him. To combat such actions, Danaë was imprisoned underground.
After Perseus has successfully attained the head of Medusa, along with losing many of his men, he is confronted by Calibos. During Perseus’ fight scene with Calibos, Perseus uses the sword granted to him by his father for the first time. The overall lighting of this scene is very dark to symbolize Calibos’ wickedness. However, once Perseus draws his sword, the lighting brightens only on Perseus, and he becomes the focal point of the scene. As a result, lighting is effectively used in this scene to bring the viewer’s attention to Perseus in this iconic moment when he finally chooses to use the weapons, his sword and Pegasus, that were gifted to him from Zeus. As well, I believe this marks the point where Perseus accepts his identity as a demigod.
Perseus was a greek hero. He was part God and part man. His father was the almighty Zeuz and his mother was a princess. Perseus grew up in a locked away house with his mother. They lived there until the grandfather sent them away on a boat.
At birth, Perseus was born unexpectedly and he was the son of Zeus. However, Perseus’s grandfather Acrisius, did not want a grandson in the family. Where in, when Hercules was born, he was credit to be the son of Amphitryon but ended up to be the son of Zeus as well, so in mythology Perseus and Hercules both were the son of Zeus. Both Perseus and Hercules had their own sets of journeys that they had to go on, however both of their journeys were unique to their character. Perseus went on a journey to get the head of Medusa for his mother for a gift.
Within the myth of Perseus, the plot generally follows the structure of the archetypal hero’s journey. These aspects can be clearly identified throughout the lifetime of Perseus.

Persepolis is the story of Marjane Satrapi, the only child of two Marxists, growing up during the harsh times of the Islamic Revolution, the overthrow of Shan’s reign and the calamitous emanation of the war with Iraq. Marjane relatives would support the revolutionaries by attending to political protests, including his uncle Anoosh, who she made a deep bond with after he returned from the U.S.S.R., for the cause that Iranians believed he was a spy. This bond does not seem to fade away, not even after he is executed. Marjane’s family made her become invested in the world of social activism, where she wanted to eliminate the inequalities and injustices, and where no one had to suffer. Her goals are not met when they start bombing Tehran, her hometown,
Heroes are those who have gone above what the average person would do to ensure the welfare of others. Natural disasters, terrorism, poverty, and war are some of the many things that destroy and end people’s lives. Throughout history, many people have made a difference. However, as history progresses, what we consider to be socially normal changes along with our definition of a hero. In Ancient Greece, Theseus, Hercules, and Perseus were considered heroes, but today only Theseus and Perseus would be considered heroes because Hercules would be shunned by society.
One of the three major events that happened to Perseus' on his return trip was: when Perseus was flying back to the island where his mother and Polydectes were, he had the severed head of Medusa on his belt, which still had the ability to turn someone to stone so, when Atlas was at the edge of the world holding up the sky on his shoulders, he saw Perseus fly by on his Pegasus, looked up and noticed the head of Medusa which turned him to stone.
Mythology is an essential part of Greek culture. Greek mythology is comprised of several heroes, gods and their stories. Heroes of Greek myth share similar characteristics. They all have divine birth; go on an adventure as well as defeating strong monsters. Finally, when they die they are seen as semi divine.
Zeus had a son named Perseus, this story is about him, although he was the son of Zeus. He was just a demigod (half human half god). which meant that he can die like any other legend mortal. So is all started when he and his mother were in a coffin in the middle of the ocean, unfortunately his mother did not make it but he did because he is a demigod. Perseus was just a baby so he did not know Danae his mother, the coffin was out for a some time then a fishing boat stumbled upon the coffin.
King Acrisius of Argos had only one child, a daughter named Danae. She was a beautiful girl, but the King was sad because he did not have a son. He went to Delphi to ask the oracle if he might ever have a son. The priestess told him that he would never have a son; furthermore, she said that his daughter would bear a son who would eventually kill him.
Perseus is from Greek mythology, and the Greeks put morals throughout their stories to teach the upcoming generation. The morals of these stories can still be learned from today. Although Perseus was known for slaying Medusa, he is also known for his acts of heroism and the influence of the morals taken from his story on the modern day world.
