On Monday September 10, 2001, at approximately 3pm, Steve Scheibner, American Airline pilot, did what he normally would do the day before he was able to go out flying. Steve logged onto his computer to find out if there was any unassigned flights for the following day, and sure enough, there was a flight from Boston, which departed at 7:45am to Los Angeles. Steve was the only pilot available to fly on September 11, so he began to prepare for his flight the next day. Although, Steve did not know that he would not be the pilot who was on Flight 11. Steve never received a phone call from the airline to finalize his assignment to the flight. A senior pilot named Tom McGuinness was reassigned the flight. What Steve did not know at the time was that it was a blessing from God in disguise. The plane that Steve Scheibner was supposed to fly on September 11 did not arrive in Los Angeles at 11:55 as planned. Once the plane reached 23,000 feet in the air, Tom McGuinness let autopilot take over until they approached Los Angeles, and that is when chaos began to occur. …show more content…
Steve Scheibner was very faithful to God and had a life objective, which was “One day I might hear God say, well-done my good and faithful servant”. By God saving Steve this gave him the time he needed to do his good in our world, and preach his faith. God has his reasons for why he saves one and not another. By some people, this may seem to be just a coincidence or luck, but there are no coincidence's in the Kingdom of God. God was watching over Steve, and saw the good he could do in our world. Us humans will never be able to understand the power of God and how strong it is, and it is not something that we can prove with
Doug Swieteck is a fourteen-year-old boy and is also the youngest of three boys. The oldest is fighting in the Vietnam war. The second to oldest is a bully who takes everything valuable from Doug. The one thing Doug has comfort in doing is drawing. Doug does not know how to read even though he is in 8th grade. He is a scrawny little kid who people say looks like a thug.
Steve raced for fun not sport. With his brother Bob Carlton as navigator and various friends filling the role of mechanic, their races were always memorable.
Today when Americans go to work, they have many protections, so that they are safe, not overworked, and paid justly. However, around the turn of the century the same could not be said. Lincoln Steffens saw the corruption and inhumane working conditions in the workplace, and in government and decided to use his platform to expose this and make positive change occur. Lincoln hailed from a wealthy family and became immersed in radical politics. He attended the university of California and then went to study with “ Wilhelm Wundt in Leipzig and with Jean-Martin Charcot in Paris” () This is where he developed his love for radical politics and exposing the truth about corruption.

We had all made mistakes right? Have you ever made a mistake of robbing a drugstore? I'm here to prove that Steve Harmon is guilty of committing a crime and should face legal consequence.
I would tell someone who has never met Sandy Sewell that her witty personality and exuberance for life, as she tells her life story, is what defines her as an individual and not her physical disabilities. At first glance you will notice that she is quadriplegic and confined to a wheelchair but I would assure the person that her appearance is deceiving because she is truly an inspirational person. For instance, you might initially be surprised by her gregarious charm and enthusiasm for life as a disabled woman. Her passion for living the best possible life is evident when she discusses her role as an advocate for the disabled in creating her organization the Rockland Social Network. The organization gives disabled individuals in Rockland
Dr. J. Matthew Sleeth, his wife, Nancy, and their two children lived the life that most people would refer to as the American dream. A prestigious physician’s career, big house, and more material items than the small family knew what to do with. While working, Sleeth noticed an increase in chronic illnesses, and was brought to his breaking point treating children whose lives were cut short. A highly-educated man, Sleeth, outlined what every person could do to help preserve what God provided to sustain human life, not by doing more, but by doing less. The concepts that were highlighted included: conscious use of natural resources, materialistic views, improved personal habits, critical thinking processes, as well as what life would be like if

The south for a good while was always fond of using slavery as a cheap source of work. The increase in the number of slaves was when John Rolfe became one of the first to cultivate tobacco in the so called “New World back then in the 17th century. There was good money to be made about the amount of labor that went into the tobacco cultivation was harch, hence why slaves were used. Ever since then, it is obvious to note that slaves dominated the aspect of southern life. Whether that be economically, socially or politically, slaves played an important role in each category.
The Dred Scott Decision of 1857 ruled that African-Americans, even ones who were not enslaved, were not protected under The Constitution and could never be citizens. This brings up questions that will be answered in this paper. Should slaves be American citizens? Is it morally correct for one to own another human? Does the Dred Scott decision contradict The Declaration of Independence which states that every man is created equal?

It was in 1973, that a young, brazen and ostentatious Donald Trump, met one of New York’s most notorious attorney: Roy Cohn, whose name was synonymous with the rise of manipulative political power acts. Roy was known to be a ruthless prosecutor who had mastered control over all the loopholes in the law and had become the premier practitioner of hardball deal making, offering his help to defend even the mafia networks. Cohn became a business mentor and nearly a second father to Trump. Trump first hired Cohn to sue the federal government. The allegations that Trump faced had accused him of renting his prime apartments only to White people thereby showing a racial bias. This was clearly against the fair housing act which the congress had passed.
