Iconoclast. Inventor. Visionary. Genius. Adopted. Dropout. Fired. Monster? Steve Jobs was known for many things and one of them was a monster. Steve Jobs The man who thought different touches base on his monster like qualities, but it mainly talks about his life. He was a human being just like everyone else. He made mistakes but everyone makes mistakes in their life so what’s the difference between him and anyone else? So what makes him a monster? Even at a very young age Steve was very troubled. He usually got in trouble with a lot of his teachers and other classmates. He didn’t want to sit down and listen he just wanted to read and chase butterflies. Later on when jobs was in highschool he met a man named Steve Wozniak, Woz for short.
Steve Jobs was dedicated to innovation, he was all for new ideas and improving. Jobs believed that creativity
This semester, I am reading Steve Jobs: The Man WHo Thought Different by Karen Blumenthal. This book goes through the life story of Steve Jobs, Co-founder of Apple. A main focus of this book is that Steve thought very weirdly. Mike Scott says in the book, "He likes to fly around like a hummingbird at ninety miles per hour." (Blumenthal 81) When Jobs walked into the Atari offices with the intent to get hired, he refused to leave until he was, and it worked. Steve Jobs thought and worked in a way that would be extremely odd to most people, but it worked wonders for him. In high school, Steve Jobs made friends with a man named Steve Wozniak. Wozniak was also very much into technology, working at Hewlett-Packard
The difference between Steve Jobs and mythological, religious, or epic heroes is that Steve Jobs might not have saved the world from chaos or incarcerated an evil villain, but he has impacted the 21st century as his life journey has made him a distinctive archetypal hero. For example, when Steve Jobs describes his upbringing, Jobs states, “My biological mother was a young, unwed college graduate student, and she decided to put me up for adoption (4).” He continues to add that he was rejected due to his sex at birth at the last minute by his then adopted parents, until he was adopted into an uneducated family causing his biological mother to refuse finalizing the adoption papers, until his parents promised that Steve Jobs would attend college; giving Steve Jobs a predetermined future as well as unusual birth circumstances. Steve jobs then goes on to leave his family at 17 to seek education and adventure at a college, such as Beowulf did when leaving Geatland to Herot in seek of adventure in Beowulf: A New Verse Translation by Seamus Heaney. In addition, Steve Jobs continued to persevere
Steve jobs was years old, when he started apple in his parents garage. He achieved great success apple blossomed a 2 million dollar empire. When he got fired he treated it as a freedom not as a curse. Apple was the best thing that happened to him. Apple allowed him to think more creatively.
Once he grew up, Mr. Wozniak went away to study at the University of California. That is where he later met Steve Jobs. They became future business partners for Apple. This caused Mr. Wozniak to quit his job at Hewlett-Packard.
He often complained that he was too bored in class and found himself in some trouble with school authority. Steve Jobs was already displaying his above average intelligence. Outside of class he spent a lot of time with his father. His father, being a handy man, was able to fix many things along with beautifying the house. Jobs was being introduced to the idea that anything is able to be created. The carpentry from his father influenced his ideas and his mindset to understand that the world offers tools to turn imagination into
Steve Jobs on the other hand has a very innovative leadership style; he was a perfectionist who had the courage to change his mind. Steve was a very unconventional leader, he was very `high-maintenance’ who demanded excellence from his staff and was known for his
“Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life” (253). The man who changed the world of technology said this in front of thousands of Stanford graduates. All of the interesting work and his life was written in a biography called Steve Jobs: The Man Who Thought Different by Karen Blumenthal. Blumenthal included everything about Jobs from birth to death in this book. The title of the book came from Apple advertisements that said “Think Different.” The main character of the book was obviously Steve Jobs. Jobs was the co-founder of Apple Inc., NeXT, and Pixar and he was able to do all that because he was the man who thought different. Anyone who owns an Apple product or has seen many of the famous movies
As can be expected steve jobs needed to work hard to get to the point where he is now and here are a couple of ways he did. At high school he dropped out but he still took some classes and got smart. Also he tried for a ton of jobs but got rejected, for example he tried to be astronaut but was rejected. He was not wealthy so he returned his coke bottles for money and slept on his friends dorm floor because he couldn't afford one
Steve Jobs was an accomplished leader and innovator in technology, having helped found and lead multiple companies throughout his life. His many accomplishments include; founding Apple and NeXT and was the CEO of both companies as well as Pixar. Jobs created many life-changing products like the Apple ll, which is has been known as one of the first true PC’s.
Steve Jobs and Sylvester Stallone are names that today’s society has become quite familiar with. Whether it has been as one of their favorite movie characters, or the creator of companies everyone knows and love, these men have played significant roles today. Both men have given people plenty of inspiration to people, however, this is going to focus on only two of those inspirational moments in 2005 and 2006, respectively. These speeches remind people that life is hard, that, yes, they are going to fall, but to never stop believing in themselves. In 2005, Steve Jobs gave a commencement speech at Stanford University where he told of three stories from his life. He tells of how he was adopted, a college dropout, as well as how he was fired from
On October 5, 2011 Steve Jobs passed away in his home in Palo Alto California; Jobs had been battling pancreatic cancer since 2003. Steve brought so much different technological advancement that most people use everyday without knowing who created them. Everything that Jobs created, he did because he understood what his customers wanted, and where the market was going. Steve Jobs believed in all of his products and innovations he sold to people, and had faith in the people he worked with was what really shaped Apple. After leaving the company and then returning, Steve Jobs’ influence made Apple one of the top computer companies in the world.
Steve Jobs by Walter Isaacson is about the life of Steve Jobs and he came about being as wealthy as he was. It all started in 1955 when he was born in San Francisco and ended on October 5, 2011 in Palo Alto. Steve was well known for his company Apple. He changed the world with technology. If it weren’t for him and his company, I don’t think we would be as advanced and close with others as we are now. He was very argumentative, but he enjoyed making the users happy about the product. He was a jerk also, but it all turned out for the better for everyone in the product. He was a very hard determined worker and believed in only the best for the customers. I think he was kind hearted as well because of how much he cared about the users. He deserves the credit of building an excellent company and products.
“You’ve got to find what you love,” I completely agree with Steve Jobs. Everyone searches for happiness and what they live for. He had gone through a lot to figure out what he loved. Steve’s three stories were very influencing. To be young and having to figure out what to do with his future and to make a living, was it worth it for him to do what he loves? He made me think that it was worth it in the end. Steve went through hard times, but ultimately he lived a very successful life. Steve had chosen a college that was not fairly cheap. He chose that school and did not even like attending it. His parents strived to even let him afford to go to college. Eventually he dropped out. He was making his parents happy for going, but he was not
Not long after that did he was introduced to his future partner in business Steve Wozniak through a friend.
