Steroids are often associated with athletes taking them to “play better.” Steroids have changed the game of every sport and have been considered to be used in order for an athlete to have more muscle or power. Stereotypically, steroids are thought to enhance one’s performance, however, that is not scientifically proven. This paper strives to cover the side affects, behavioral effects and how media affects people's’ usage of steroids.. Steroids are a variation of the male hormone testosterone, Steroids help with muscle loss and other things but it also has a bad to it it slows down puberty, these drugs are usually taken by needles into the arm or leg or there are pill kinds of these drugs. NFL is the only one sport known that banned steroids and test every year ; NFL’s steroids policy is much stricter than the MLB or National Hockey League (NHL) rules of steroids. Bodybuilders use this drug because they think they can't go one work out without it or doing anything physical without it. Most people wouldn't guess that cyclist use steroids but some of the most famous ones do. In Major League Soccer or MLS it's hardly common for players to take steroids because there conditioning is hard enough. Plus if someone did it’s not common that they get caught since they don’t drug test them that often. People in college and even high school are taking steroids and their body hasn't developed so it affects them.
