When I decided to become an engineer, I thought hard on what that entailed. I saw myself working on hands on projects with a skill and proficiency that I could truly be proud of. That's why after listening to the presentation for Manufacturing and Mechanical Engineering Technology in my freshman year here at Texas A&M I knew that this major was the best fit for me. The mentioning of learning how to manufacture and produce things from conception to finished product was very exciting to me. I also appreciate that the education is very application oriented rather than just teaching theoretical content. I feel that this directly prepares one for a future career in industry and this sense of job security is what really attracted me to this engineering
Education is a very important aspect to many people. For me, getting a well-rounded education will help me reach my lifetime goal of being happy and bringing that happiness to people by helping them. The spark of motivation came in a very unusual way. It happened when taking the mandatory Chemistry class sophomore year of high school. This class was interesting and eye-opening to me because it provided a different look on life. I knew after completing the class that I wanted to pursue a career in the medical and science field. Texas A&M University is my top choice school because I know that attending this school will give me the best education and it will also help me reach my goals in the future.
Hopefully, I will be able to continue my education in 2016 spring semester at Queens College. It will be a fantastic experience for me to meet outstanding professors and make new friends who share same interests. I will be a more mature musician and a person as I spend more time at the college. Queens College will definitely help me to build a firm foundation for the future and get closer to my goal and this is why I desperately want to be a part of the
I would like to briefly go over my high school situation, school accomplishments, and some of the qualities I feel that I have, to hopefully clarify and enhance my application. The high school that I have been to for the past three years is called Tuacahn High School for the Performing Arts. Because of its smaller size, there isn’t a large variety of classes similar to what you would find in an average public high school. This made it impossible for me to enroll in AP or IB classes. Also, the school only had a couple concurrent enrollment classes we could take without going to the local university. While the school lacked these types of certified classes, they still offered many good honors classes, and performing arts based classes in which
My attention was to search about universities and the opportunities they provide for their students. I looked for college that makes me feel part of a something big and not about me graduating from the university. After researching on a couple of colleges, I chose Texas A&M as my top university to enroll in the coming fall semester. I have always had an interest in engineering majors, especially chemical engineering, because of laboratory experiments and learning about new chemicals. I have always been waiting for the day I could become a senior to be able to apply to the university I had always dreamed of enrolling. Chemical engineering brings out one's critical thinking and problem solving skills. Texas A&M University is the best university
I’m Pei-Chin Wu, a PhD student in Nursing Science. My research interests are gerontology (older adults) care in community settings and family caregiver support. I’m not a TA this quarter. In the School of Nursing, most of the graduate students (including MS, DNP and PhD) need to apply for a TA position listing on the Paid student positions website. It’s very competitive. So, I don’t know what will be my responsibilities. I’m looking forward to more TA positions posted on the website this quarter. If I have to pick one thing I learned at the TA conference, I would say that considering what to do before they happen is very important. Be prepared for difficult situations that might happen in the class. For example, you need to know who you can
The Church Educational School that I'd be grateful and fortunate to attend would be Brigham Young University, Provo. As I went into high school, Byu Provo was the first university I heard of that caught my attention instantly after hearing my professors talking about it. One of the important reasons why I want to have the chance to attend this university is because of the ability to go on a mission and look forward into knowing I will have an education waiting for me to come back home too. Over the years, I also realized that Brigham Young University offered a lot more than just waiting for me when I came back from my mission. Provo gives me a variety of choices of majors to choose from. It provides me with a lot more options to be curious
I have an diligent passion for assisting and supporting others of different cultures and heritages. I have volunteered on countless community and school events during the past two years. Currently, I contain more than 120 hours of community service and school service. In my school, New Tech High, we have a graduation requirement where the student must have completed 20 hours of community service and 10 hours of school service. I have exceeded my school hours by 50 hours and a half, while I overly exceeded my community hours by more than 71 hours. This has affected my outlook by providing me more opportunities as well as being noticed by the community. Currently,in my senior year, I have been helping coordinate event opportunities for the students
Starting college in August of 2008 was completely different than what I was expecting. My parents loaded up my car and sent me on my way to gain a college degree and experience life on my own, but looking back over the situation, I tend to ask myself numerous times do I think I was ready for college and the responsibilities that were to come along with it. Each time the answer was no. Being the first person in my family to go off to college away from home, I had no idea what to expect, or how to handle the things that come along with college life. Needless to say, it took me several major changes and me leaving my first university and transferring to one at home for me to get a handle of the situation.
I believe the University of North Carolina at Wilmington would be a perfect fit for me in every way. In the future I would like to become a physician and I believe that UNC Wilmington would be the best match to enable me to reach this goal. UNC Wilmington has an amazing biology department which will help me meet my prerequisites for medical school. Along with this UNC Wilmington offers a pre-health program which will help me significantly on my journey towards being a physician. UNC Wilmington is also one of the few schools that offers a neuroscience minor. I have been interested in neuroscience for a long time and would love the opportunity to study the subject in college. UNC Wilmington was also an amazing fit for me because I felt at home
I decided to further my education Langston University because I believed it would suit me best. I aspired to move away from home, but I didn’t want to go too far. The college is also an HBCU; at an HBCU you get to partake in a whole different lifestyle and I want to be a part of that experience. In addition, the college offered a personal room, and in my opinion it is always better to have privacy. Lastly, the tuition is affordable versus many other D1 university and PWI’s.
Prior to our recent move to Oregon, I had become quite comfortable with life in Northern New York and had applied for Empire State College as an important part of my future education. When looking into colleges to continue my education, SUNY Empire State College seemed to shine brighter than the rest. I had initially come across the Military Times Magazine and noticed that SUNY Empire State College had been recognized as “Best for Vets” for the past five years. In speaking and hearing the positive experiences of Soldiers who are current students or alumni, my interest deepened. Ultimately, I enrolled and I hope to continue in advancing my career as a History teacher through studies at SUNY Empire State College.
I’m a student from Patton Elementary in Garden Grove, California. Ever since I was a little kid at the age of 6, I’ve wanted to go to Cal Berkeley and be just like Desean Jackson as an amazing football player. Except that is not the only reason why I’ve wanted to go to Cal Berkeley, that college also has an great education deal, to help me improve my self, to make me one of Cal Berkeley best college applicants. If I do make it to Cal Berkeley, I’ll do my best to be successful on the Football field, and I will never give up until I make the best for Cal Berkeley, and later on I will graduate. If the college of Cal Berkeley will accept me when I get older, I would finally completed my lifelong dream.
Last year, I entered my first year in a U.S. High School, as a Junior. Despite a learning curve, I overcame all obstacles to maintain a 4.0 GPA. For this, I was recently awarded a letter of recognition for academic excellence. This is the highest academic achievement that Lambert High School awards to its students. Not only did I possess academic excellence in my core classes, but I also succeeded in my AP Art class. My Junior year presented a challenge, especially in Math and Science; however, I balanced this with my love of Art which allowed me to show my creativity. As a Senior, I have continued to maintain A’s during my first semester and will continue to strive during my second semester. I am highly motivated to prove that as an individual
I am submitting my credentials for admission to the Ph.D. program in Organizational Behavior at Purdue University because I want to pursue a career in teaching and organizational consulting. To be more specific, I am interested in studying the factors that influence employee motivation, employee productivity in different environments and the effects of layoffs on employee motivation. In order to better understand these issues, it is extremely essential for me to have a strong command of various areas of organizational theory, psychology as well as management principles.
