Being nominated for the National Honor Society is a great honor itself. It has shown that I have worked very hard in school and stand out from my peers. Opening yourself up to strangers or being open to getting on different levels of understanding with different types of people can be difficult for some, however, it has always been my forte. I began my high school academic career at Burrell. The transition from Mary Queen of Apostles School to Burrell High School was a traumatic adjustment to the quantity of my classmates. I had been traumatized at first because I had gone from knowing every person in my small school to not knowing anything or anyone in Burrell. I surprisingly

I am interested in becoming a member of the National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) because it will help boost my leadership and social skills, character, citizenship, and help me to become a better scholar. These skills are important because they will help me learn to listen to other people’s ideas and share ideas with others. Also, NJHS will help me learn to lead and take charge, help my community, and maintain a good GPA to get into a great college. I am also interested in being a member of National Junior Honor Society because my sister was in it when she was in middle school and they did multiple interesting and productive projects, activities, and field trips.
I want to preface this by saying thank you for taking the time to considering me as a member of your organization, it is truly an honor. Throughout my life I have developed a drive for excellence in everything I do. I believe that when it comes to homework and projects you should only consider yourself finished when you are satisfied with the work you have done. This drive for excellence took full force after I had joined Civil Air Patrol (CAP). There they not only taught me how rewarding doing your best can be, but they taught me leadership skills and the benefit of stepping out of my comfort zone.
As a member of four national honor societies, I believe my presence in those organizations has made me a good candidate for the College Scholars program. I was invited to the National English Honor Society, Rho Kappa (Social Studies National Honor Society), National French Honor Society, and National Honor Society. All four have enhanced my academics, social skills, and intuition. In the National English Honor society, we are challenged to utilize our writing skills for the betterment of our community. Our main project this year was creating little messages that promoted suicide prevention. We would then attach the message to a knitted heart and hang them all around our school. Rho Kappa has gifted me with an appreciation for the United States

I am genuinely honored to be one of the few students considered for acceptance to the State College Area High School chapter of the National Honor Society. I feel that my hard work and dedication in academics is beginning to show through. Throughout my life, I have shown drive and devotion for everything in which I have been involved, ranging from athletics to academics. My mentality has always been focused on helping others. For this reason, I aspire to become an orthopedic surgeon so that my career will evolve around helping others to get the most out of their lives. To be a National Honor Society nominee for the second time is definitely a privilege. As numerous people that have failed at any point of their lives but kept on striving to accomplish their goals have showed me, perseverance is the key to success. Today, I am certain that my nomination represents a great opportunity for me to try harder in order to achieve one of the greatest recognitions for high school students. National Honor Society members are outstanding students who portray a role model for others by demonstrating their strengths in different fields such as scholarship, character, leadership, and service.
As a freshman at the University of Maryland, I am pursuing a Masters degree in Computer Science with a specialization in Cyber Security. I formerly attended the Academy of Health Sciences at Prince George’s Community College, a dual enrollment program in which I graduated with my High school diploma and an Associates of Arts degree in General Studies. Having a unique experience by attending these different school has allowed me to become familiar with technical communication in a multitude of ways, whether it is in the work place or school related. Being vice president of the national honor society, being a barista at Peet’s coffee shop, and with being fluent in multiple languages I have used technical communication to encourage people to “take action” in a multitude of ways. Whether it was influencing people to join the national honors society or trying to get customers to buy a new coffee drink, I have consistently been able to encourage others to “take action” with whatever it may be. Over time I have learned the do’s and don’ts of being a technical communicator, and I now understand what must be done to accomplish a task through technical communication.
The National Honor Society is a prestigious organization that I, as a student, am striving for acceptance. At the end of seventh grade, I was accepted into the National Junior Honor Society and ever since then I have had my eyes set on the next level of education. I have had outstanding grades throughout my academic career, which has taught me leadership and how to show my service to the community, all while building my character into the person I am today. Ever since I was little, my sister has held me to high academic standards to see if I would be able to achieve higher scores and obtain more awards than she did when she was in high school. One of her highest student accomplishments was being accepted into the National Honor Society.
I am deeply honored to be among the exemplary students who are being considered for the National Honor Society. I must admit that this is something that I have been looking forward to since the beginning of my high school career. I believe that this organization does great things in society and that I can play a part in furthering the impression that is made. I like to think that I deserve this honor and this chance because I have worked very hard to get here.
I am extremely honored to be considered in being in the National Honor Society. I believe that this organization helps a lot within communities and keeping grades up. That is why I believe I should be a member. I know how to keep my grades at the highest they can be, which in my case is a 4.0. I am also largely active within my community and school. I play softball for my high school and hope to be a captain this year since I am now an upperclassman. I also enjoy helping within my community doing things such as work, clubs, and travel softball.
