Data exists everywhere around us. From your heart beats per minute, the current room temperature, or the number of tweets being posted about Miley Cyrus, nearly everything can be considered a data point. It is now being collected at an alarming rate and there are now opportunities to use that data in ways that were previously unimaginable. As technology advances data will only continue to grow, regardless of field of study, occupation or geography. As a user and firm believer of Data Science, I am excited by the possibilities of using that data and the trajectory of the field as a whole. After discovering the power of data I have developed a passion and appreciation for it, and realize that there is a lot left for me learn. Pursuing a graduate degree in Data Science is the stepping stone I need to take my career to the next level and compete with the best in the exciting, rapidly evolving and growing field.
I am submitting my credentials for admission to the Ph.D. program in Organizational Behavior at Purdue University because I want to pursue a career in teaching and organizational consulting. To be more specific, I am interested in studying the factors that influence employee motivation, employee productivity in different environments and the effects of layoffs on employee motivation. In order to better understand these issues, it is extremely essential for me to have a strong command of various areas of organizational theory, psychology as well as management principles.
With pure passion for scientific reasoning and some accompanying expectation, I chose Statistics as my major in undergraduate period at Hunan University nearly four years ago. Then, at this moment when my college life will come to an end, I am submitting my application to the Master of Science in Interdisciplinary Statistics and Operation Research program of The University of North Carolina of Chapel Hill which is exactly consistent with my professional interest and career goal in the interdisciplinary business consulting realm.
My major has gradually revealed the fundamental disciplines and inherent architectures as well as systems of the computer and how to learn programming in the past several
“Life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're going to get”
“…life can be much broder once you discover one simple fact: Everything around you that you call life was made up by people that were no smarter than you. And you can change it, you can influence it. Once you learn that, you’ll never be the same again.”
During my undergraduate studies, I was exposed to a spectrum of subjects in Electronics and Programming, such as Microprocessors, Computer Networks, Computer Organization, C, Data Structures, JAVA and Digital Signal Processing etc.
Science is the bedrock of modern civilization. With it the fantasies of yesteryears are becoming realities. The world is changing and advancing at a stupendous rate. Every day new frontiers of the unknown and unimagined are opening up and new mysteries are being unravelled. It is the lure of such a challenge that draws me to scientific research and that is the reason I am seeking admission at the University of Texas Arlington, for a M.S in Management Information Systems commencing Fall 2016. As a Statement of Purpose of my graduate study, I would like to describe my academic and professional background, area of interest and career goals.
In competitive and rapidly growing world of science & technology, where each year opened enthralling avenues and an epidemic of new innovations and inventions take place and each passing day make them archaic. As a constructive part of the field of Computer Science the only way is up and the ride will only become smoother with time. I have always been a conscientious student, ever ready to put in that extra bit to excel in whatever I undertake. This trait saw me sail through school and junior college quite smoothly. A graduate in Computer Science with specialized knowledge in an unique area from your university is my logical and desired next step which would help me stand out in the highly competitive IT industry.
Later on, to find out that computer can understand only binary digits at hardware level as language, when we were seeing various kind of language and numbers being feed in and shown, was hard to believe. As I kept on studying my bachelor degree, I understood how those 0's and 1's can work miracle with the help of various hardware and software built with help of various programming languages. With exposure to binary language, it even helped me to understand importance of various communication language, their constructions and evolving process. Various subjects that I was exposed during my UG study helped me to understand both hardware and software part of computer as well as how multiple computers networked together through various ways can complete difficult task much more efficiently and swiftly. Core subjects like Computer Organization, Data Structure and Algorithm, Microprocessor, System Analysis and Design, Operating System, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Network, Computer Graphics, Database Management, Project Management and Object oriented Programming in C++ were of special importance. To find similarity between how a new-born child learn various things like talking, walking, learning etc. and how a AI systems improves itself with help of various new programs was
“Ambition is the first step to success. The second step is action” Always being motivated by this thought cultivated my interest to take Information technology as my major in my graduate studies as I originated from a business oriented family and wanted to bring technology in combination to my current family business in order to sustain in the competitive market. Being addicted to excellence, I believe a good career can only be built above the firm foundation of a good education. Above all, it would be a real benediction to be able to learn under the guidance of the professors at University of Cincinnati. Possessing excellent analytical and interpersonal skills, I am enthusiastic about the next phase of my life,I also hope and believe that I would be able to contribute to the University as well as build a great career ahead.
It is universally agreeable that with the advent of Computer technology, every ambitious and enthusiastic individual is really obsessed with the idea of doing computer science at graduate level because it seems to have created a zeal and enthusiasm in the hearts of youth, particularly those who aspire to be marked as high achievers. I, for one, seem to have been enchanted by these computer applications as they have made the world smaller, speaking in terms of globalization. I have no hesitation to add that core computerization alone is the suitable answer to all the areas unexploited and to the areas waiting for development. It has always been a fascination for me about how computers work, how these applications are designed and what can be the newer ways to explore the world of computers to make our world better. This interest became a passion for me when I was exposed to computer science basics, during my middle school. Pursuing computer science engineering at undergraduate level, further propelled my passion for computer science along with providing me a deeper insight and in-depth understanding of the subject. After completing my under graduation in Computer Science, I am willing to expedite my research interest and a masters degree seemed the most appropriate choice for realizing my aspirations.

What is life? Why do people look different? These are questions that I eager to know answers since I was young. When I view the characteristics of people, I usually think that some traits are inherited, whereas others are caused by environmental factors. For human diseases, I would like to know the relative contributions of genetics and the environment. Is a disease caused by a pathogenic microorganism, a toxic agent in the environment, or a faulty gene? My interest in molecular biology has been inspired by these questions and led me to the world of genetics.
