For example, animals that are sick or severely hurt may need to be euthanized’’ ( "Working With Animals." U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics). One of the main skills needed in this job is communication because animals can’t speak for themselves so we the people have to speak for them. Another big skill needed is business savvy. Ever since I was little I was told that I was going to be a veterinarian. Well not quite I think vet tech is more of my area. I love animals they amaze me, and I love dogs the most.
Veterinary Technicians should expect to work long hours, associate with animals, and communicate with owners and staff. Clinics and veterinary hospitals are typically open 24/7, therefore technicians are expected to work weekends, holidays and evenings. Options of work environment include private practices, zoos, laboratories, kennels and animal shelters (“Technician Summary” 2014). Becoming a technician is emotionally and physically demanding. On a daily basis, technicians administer first aid care to recovering or injured animals, as well as observing the condition and behavior of animals. Administering anesthesia, collecting blood and urine samples, and preparing animals for survey are daily tasks. Technicians perform x
Most of the technicals required are animal handling. Communication skills are very important for animal welfare officers because they work with people who are already at high levels of emotional stress and are potentially dangerous. They need to be able to very level headed, have good interpersonal skills and be very empathetic to others. Most importantly the need to have a love of animals. Professionally the working conditions can be very difficult as they must be able to deal with potentially dangerous animals and people, they also have to witness animal cruelty which can be very emotionally taxing.
You could work at a human society, zoology/wildlife, and agriculture. A job that I could do over the summer is work at the human society. Now I am going to explain what these three positions are. An explanation of human society is you work with like mostly cats and dogs. An explanation of zoology/wildlife is you work with a lot more animals not just cats or dogs.
When most people think of a veterinarian, the first thing that comes to mind is the ones that treats your cats and dogs. Obviously there are ones who do that and those are called companion animal veterinarians, but there are also equine veterinarians, food animal veterinarians, food safety and inspection veterinarians and, research veterinarians to name a few ("Summary" U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics). Veterinarian can also work in the Veterinary Corps for the United States Army ("Field Veterinary Service Jobs”).
The career that caught my eye was a butcher or meat processor. A Butcher or a Meat processor will cut, trim, bone, tie and grind meats such was beef, pork, lamb, poultry, and fish ready to be cooked. Also prepare meat in a display case to look appealing and product that will catch the customer's eye. Also they will weigh, wrap and label the different cuts of meat. Also sometimes prepare a special order or a special cut requested by the customer.

A career I would be interested in pursuing is being a park ranger. This job interests me because I love spending time outdoors and with people. It also is an interest of mine to keep our wonderful parks and woodland environments safe and to have them still be around for many more generations to come.

I chose to enroll in PC to earn my AAS-T in Administrative Office Systems with an emphasis in administrative assistance in 2015. I am currently four classes away from completing my degree and I’m ready to take the next step by working towards a BAS in Applied Management. I feel it will give me a much broader understanding of the theories and practices of business and management and I know it will help me when directing my own family’s home rental business. These, however, are not my only reasons for wanting to continue my education. I am a mother of a 19-month-old son and having him has changed my life in many ways. It’s become of even greater importance for me to achieve a higher education and to set a good example for my son and any future

The most important one to take is animal science because when working with wildlife knowing about the animals is very important. Physical education is also a great class to take, a few others would be computer applications, criminology, natural resources management, and psychology. Any class that has something to do with nature of animals would be a great class to take. In any of the jobs at the game and fish department, there will be a lot of working conditions that you have to adapt to.
My goal is to work with large to small animals. The degree that I am currently working on is for Animal Science, which focuses on veterinary science with both large and small animals as well as classes that cover dairy nutrition and handling. Long term these classes will give me the experience and knowledge necessary to move into the field of work I wish to excel in. Northcentral Technical College offers hands on classes and the ability to build a portfolio of experience that I can use in the real working industry. As a whole I am unsure where this career path will lead me but many doors are opened by this degree. Including but not limited to, veterinary assistant, heard management, animal nutrition, and many more job opportunities. As a whole
Substance abuse within the US is a very significant issue, with costs “exacting over $600 billion annually” (National Institute on Drug Abuse, 2015). Various laws and regulations have been put in place in order to lower the amount of substance abuse cases. This has in turn triggered the establishment of appropriate public administration institutions. Even with these institutions there has been very little relief with the issue of substance abuse.
